While out on the way, I had lunch here. I check out lunch spots around here all year round, but I didn't notice this place. Where is Awaji Island? It's in the eastern part of the Seto Inland Sea, close to Shikoku. Looking at various images now, it looks beautiful, I want to visit. However, I can't imagine when I'll be able to travel again. But even in times like these, there are people who go on sightseeing trips. Yesterday and today, the broadcast in my neighborhood at 9 am said "Do not go out for anything other than daily necessities." Yet the ramen shop was full, and especially yesterday, with good weather, there were many people playing in the water park. I feel like in India, if you see someone going out, you have to slap them and do push-ups. Even I had to go to the supermarket, and I'm thinking about going to the hair salon... And Awaji Island. It's not clear if it's a specialty of Awaji Island, but inside the izakaya-style restaurant, there were 4 menu items and the tempura was sold out, so the remaining options were seafood bowl, sea bream tea-soaked rice, and grilled hokke fish with seaweed salt. The person I went with chose the sea bream tea-soaked rice, so I chose the grilled fish with seaweed salt to see something different. It came with grilled fish topped with grated daikon, white rice, miso soup, and many other side dishes. I wasn't expecting much (the atmosphere of the restaurant felt cheap), but the lunch was quite substantial. It's hard to explain what came with it, but the salad had only leafy greens, but the dressing was tasty. The side dish? had rice crackers, sashimi scraps, and seaweed or greens (I don't remember). This was normal. There was a little bit of boiled bamboo shoots, a little bit of pickled cucumber, and in the middle, was it tofu? These little bits and pieces make me happy. The bamboo shoots were well flavored. As for hokke fish, the most common way to see it is opened up with the insides facing up. It was the first time I saw it flipped over. It might have been an appeal to eat the skin as it was grilled with seaweed salt. I'm not a fan of skin in general, so I didn't eat it. It seemed to be grilled quite well, so it might have been delicious if I had tried it. In Shibuya, there are many rice cafes, and they are surprisingly high quality. On the other hand, I can't expect much from regular set meal restaurants, but this one was quite good. Not going to restaurants is boring, but it's not a time to say it's boring. My commute to Scramble Square is almost over, so for now, let's enjoy taking out bentos or stream from the underground second floor.
