I visited during the usual lunchtime and after 12 o'clock, the seats were full. The tamagoyaki had a delicious dashi flavor! The fish that followed was also tasty. You can even have seconds of rice and fish, but it seems common to have a second bowl as ochazuke, and it was delicious! The fish was also delicious!

I went to Kyoto no Na in Shin-Ochanomizu for their Kyoto-style obanzai lunch set. I have been loving Kyoto-style obanzai lunches ever since I got into healthy eating, especially rice, thick rolled omelette, and grated daikon. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, even though their lunch set is on the expensive side. It was delicious - no wonder they have such high ratings on Tabelog. The freshly made fluffy thick rolled omelette was amazing, and the pickles unique to Kyoto-style obanzai were also delicious. You can have unlimited refills of rice for free, so you can eat as much as you want. Plus, they serve ochazuke with dashi at the end, so getting a refill is a must. The hospitality was also wonderful. It cost 1150 yen. I hope they don't raise the price any higher.

A shop standing in the office district. The interior has a modern Japanese atmosphere and although there are no private rooms, it seems suitable for business meals. The dishes are all carefully prepared and very elegant. There is also a wide selection of Japanese sake, making it difficult to decide which one to choose. I may have had too many highballs and the bill went up, but it's a great place to go when you want to eat something a little delicious.

I love dashimaki tamago, so I came here knowing that I could have it as a main dish for lunch. I also love nama-fu, so I ordered the agodashi set. The hot dashimaki tamago was juicy and delicious, and the pickles were plentiful and delightful. The fried nama-fu was also tasty, and the small dish contained cream cheese tofu! It was creamier and richer than sesame tofu, and very delicious. I ended up having a second helping of rice with dashi and pickles, and I was full. Maybe I won't need a rice refill next time.. haha. I love Kyoto cuisine, and I felt happy to enjoy it at this price.

I used the lunch menu. I ordered a set of dashimaki tamago and ochazuke. The delicate texture of the dashi and the rolled omelette was exquisite. After enjoying the pickles, I poured the dashi over the rice to make ochazuke. It was healthy and had an elegant taste, showcasing the careful work put into the dashi. I would like to come back for dinner as well.

■Restaurant Information
There is a place in Ochanomizu where you can have dashimaki tamago for lunch. It's called "Kyono Nana." Surprisingly, there are quite a few places where you can enjoy dashimaki tamago for lunch, such as "Yagenbori" in Akasaka and "Hannariya" in Mitsukoshimae. Today, I ordered the Kyono Nana set meal.
■What I Ate
- Kyono Nana set meal ¥1150
A freshly made dashimaki tamago served in front of you. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The set includes dashimaki tamago, assorted pickles, side dishes, rice, red miso soup, and ochazuke. The dashimaki tamago is a long, thick slice with a rich dashi flavor. It's delicious, although it may not pair well with rice. However, the generous portion of pickles and variety of side dishes make it a satisfying meal. I found it interesting to pour dashi over the pickles while eating. This lunch seems to appeal to women. If you love dashimaki tamago, give it a try.

After attending a small event and finishing up with photography, I decided to grab a light meal at a nearby oden shop. Unfortunately, they were not open yet, so I wandered around and stumbled upon a quaint restaurant with a wooden frame and glass exterior. The interior was chic and sophisticated, and I was seated by an elderly woman. The restaurant specialized in Kyoto-style dishes, so I opted for a variety of dishes including Yuba platter, simmered eggplant, thick fried tofu with Kyoto leeks, miso-glazed fresh wheat gluten, and rolled omelette with dashi broth. Every dish was refined and delicious, showcasing the elegance of Kyoto cuisine. The culture of using bonito and kelp broth in Edomae cuisine is truly wonderful. I paired the meal with a Japanese wine from Hokkaido, which was decent and complemented the dishes well. The staff was polite and attentive, making the dining experience enjoyable. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a gem near Shin-Ochanomizu Station. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today, I wanted to have a healthy lunch, so I was walking down a back alley in Ogawamachi when I stumbled upon a small restaurant serving Kyoto cuisine. Perfect, it looks healthy. I ordered the "Kyono Nagozen for 1,150 yen." It includes "rolled omelette, assorted pickles, side dishes, rice, red miso soup, and rice with broth." The main dish is the rolled omelette and side dishes. The rolled omelette is the highlight, freshly cooked and steaming hot. It looks delicious. The rolled omelette is fluffy and tasty. People from Osaka and Kyoto really love rolled omelette. It's not common in other regions to have rolled omelette as the main dish. The "side dishes" mentioned turned out to be tofu. I was imagining a plate with various side dishes, but this tofu has a rich flavor, almost like cheese. When I asked the owner, she said it was "homemade yuba tofu." It's a unique texture, unlike regular tofu. Delicious! The owner mentioned she would bring the rice with broth later, so I left some rice and pickles. When the rice with broth arrived, it had a lovely aroma. The pickles added a nice touch. I finished it in no time. It was delicious, and I wish there was more. The "Kyono Nagozen" I had seems to be the basic set, with options to upgrade with "grilled yuba tofu," "fried yuba tofu," "fish dish," "meat dish," or "two kinds of sashimi." The prices increase gradually. Maybe I should have gone for the "grilled yuba tofu" option. But I was able to enjoy a healthy meal and feel satisfied.

The photo data shows the restaurant I visited on October 4th. I think we chose this place after visiting "Kanda Shrine," but I can't remember for sure. I believe we searched for "tofu dishes" and "sake" in that direction because we had visited the shrine. My friend seemed satisfied with the "soft tofu" and his favorite "nama-fu dengaku." I thought the grilled saury was interesting. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and calming, which I liked. We were the only customers for about an hour after entering, which may have added to the peaceful ambiance. If I ever come back to this area, I would like to visit this restaurant again. It's surprising how vague my memory of this place has become after about a month.

Located in the quiet back streets of Kanda Surugadai, just off of Hongo Street, is the hidden gem "Kyono Na," a restaurant specializing in Kyoto cuisine and local sake. With a relaxed L-shaped counter and table seating for a total of 31 guests, this is the perfect spot for enjoying Kyoto-style small plates and sake in the evening. During lunchtime, it seems to be a favorite among solo female diners, as I observed a few groups of women enjoying their meals. The lunch menu offers the "Kyono Na Gozen" as the base option, with additional dishes available for an extra cost. I opted for the "Kyono Na Gozen with fried fu" for 1,380 yen. The meal included a hearty dashimaki tamago, grated daikon, and a generous serving of pickles. The highlight was the fried fu, which was delicately seasoned and delicious. I also indulged in a second helping of rice and enjoyed the remaining pickles as ochazuke. The meal was elegant yet satisfying, leaving me grateful for being born in a country with such delicious cuisine.

Today, I had my second lunch with my first lunch buddy who recently moved near my workplace. We have agreed to have regular monthly lunches to exchange various information, as we have dealt with fraudulent cases together in our previous workplace. The restaurant we visited is a Kyoto cuisine restaurant located in a back alley near Surugadai intersection on Meidai Street. The restaurant has been in business for over 7 years, which is considered a milestone for success in the food industry. We ordered the Kyoto-style meal set for 1,100 yen and added a side dish for an extra 280 yen. The main dish was a large rolled omelette with side dishes, pickles, miso soup, and rice. The food was delicious, with the omelette being a highlight. The atmosphere was calm and perfect for a leisurely lunch with friends. The prices are on the higher side, but it's worth it for the quality of Kyoto cuisine. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I hope this restaurant continues to thrive as a rare gem in the area.

A Kyoto cuisine restaurant located near the back of the Surugadai Dozakura. It's rare to find Kyoto cuisine in Ochanomizu. At lunch, you can enjoy around 5 dishes with dashimaki tamago as the main dish. The main option is the "Kyono Nagozen", which includes dashimaki tamago and dashi chazuke. You can add fish or meat to it, so I ordered the "Kyono Nagozen with meat dish" (1,580 yen). The meat was "domestic pork marinated in soy sauce and koji". The fish option was "mackerel simmered in miso", but I passed on that as I'm not a big fan of mackerel. The basic dishes arrived in about 5 minutes. A large dashimaki tamago and a large bowl of pickles. You are supposed to leave about half of the pickles and turn the rest into dashi chazuke. The side dish was nanohana with sesame dressing. The soup was red miso soup. The rice was refillable. The dashimaki tamago was delicious, not too sweet, and went well with the rice. The pickles were tasty, and I rarely eat pickles these days due to high blood pressure. The marinated pork finally arrived, and while the portion was smaller than expected, the flavor was rich due to the koji marinade. I ordered more rice and when it was about halfway gone, I poured in the dashi. The pickles and dashi mixed together created a great taste. It's a bit on the pricier side, but I think it's worth it for the satisfying dishes you get from this restaurant.

Lunch where you can enjoy dashimaki tamago and ochazuke! Second visit.
- Kyononaga Gozen 1100 yen
The large dashimaki tamago has a gentle flavor and is very delicious! It's even more delicious when it's freshly made and piping hot. Finally, you can put pickles on rice and make ochazuke. This is also delicious. I'm curious about the other set meals as well.

I visited a restaurant recommended by a top executive of a certain company because I heard that their rolled omelette was very delicious. I arrived just before the last lunch order, feeling apologetic. I ordered the "Kyono Na Gozen" set meal. It was served within 10 minutes! The rolled omelette I was most looking forward to was shining beautifully, and when I put my chopsticks in, it was fluffy and sliced smoothly. As I brought it close to my mouth, a wonderful aroma of dashi spread, and when I took a bite, the fluffy and soft texture was incredibly delicious! At first, I thought there was quite a lot of food, but it was so tasty that I finished it in no time! Additionally, there were other items such as red miso soup with nameko mushrooms and Kyoto pickles. The pickles were refillable and could be combined with rice at the end to make ochazuke. Besides the rolled omelette, all the other items were truly delicious, and I felt that they were flavors and menu items that could be enjoyed by many people regardless of gender or age. By the way, the pickles were made by Hiroe-san. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere, good ambiance, and the staff were very polite and attentive. I even received a candy as a parting gift. I definitely want to visit again and would like to recommend this restaurant to many people!

I used this restaurant for a dinner with friends. There were about 10 counter seats, and one solo female customer. My friend, who frequents this place, had reserved a 6300 yen course for us. Since I don't drink alcohol, I usually don't go to places like this, but I'm glad I could this time. Four appetizers were served on a plate, including sashimi, tempura, soup, dashimaki tamago, grilled pork, and about 10 dishes in total. For dessert, we had egg custard and ice cream with red bean paste. It was delicious. I wonder if I can reserve a table and bring my family next time. Interestingly, I noticed that this restaurant has a lot of information and high ratings on other reservation sites. I wonder why?

Kyono Nagozen ¥1,100
Access: Please refer to the map. It is located near Olympus, where I went yesterday.
I ordered the basic Kyono Nagozen... Other menu items can be added as an extra dish.
It seems healthy, so there are many female customers and it gets crowded during lunchtime.
The rolled omelette is fluffy and delicious, but just this alone was a bit lacking... I should have added one more dish.
I might revisit if I have the chance...

Chiyoda-ku has arrived in Kanda. The station we got off at was the subway Shin-Ochanomizu Station, nice to meet you~ station. The route we happened to walk was just like that... With a somewhat limited number of restaurants, we found a ramen shop along the way, glancing sideways, feeling a bit reluctant, and heading to our destination... Perhaps due to the limited number of eateries, we arrived at our destination smoothly. This time, we visited "Kyono Na" restaurant. Just from the name, you can get a sense of the atmosphere, right? (Sometimes expectations can be misleading, though... haha) This restaurant serves "obanzai" dishes. The exterior is glass-walled, giving a slightly different impression. I had imagined a more traditional Japanese style with "Kyoto" in the name, haha. The interior had a touch of Japanese influence here and there. As for the food, we had assorted appetizers, chef's selection sashimi platter for 2580 yen, assorted pickles for 750 yen, tempura of young ayu fish and mountain vegetables for 1280 yen, duck miso cucumber for 650 yen, Kyoto-style grilled pork with sansho pepper for 980 yen, scallop and crab stuffed fry for 980 yen, all of them were meticulously prepared! A variety of creative and splendid dishes lined up. Thank you for the feast.

Overall, it was pretty good. The sazae was delicious. The dashimaki tamago was moist and just right. It could use a bit more of that authentic Kyoto gooey texture!

I went there after a long time because I wanted to eat healthy and delicious food. I had fluffy rolled omelette, pickles, red miso soup, white rice, and sesame-dressed komatsuna. You can have unlimited rice refills. It's okay to leave some rice and have seconds! Lastly, I put pickles on the rice and eat it like ochazuke with dashi. It's a healthy and delicious lunch for women. Men might find it lacking without meat or fish.
