This is a cafe located inside Asagaya Pearl Center. I visited in the morning for some time adjustment. When you order a morning drink, you get toast with boiled egg or mini pancakes. I ordered an iced coffee and had the toast. The richly roasted iced coffee is delicious. The interior of the cafe has a relatively high-end feel and a very calming atmosphere. You can relax and spend a leisurely time here.

Blended tea (pot service) was delicious! The shop is just a few minutes' walk from JR Asagaya Station. I visited on a holiday at 10:30 am. I ordered blended tea (pot service). Until 11 am, there is a morning service where you can get thick toast with boiled egg or mini pancakes, which is a great deal. I enjoyed it very much.

This time, I visited Hoshino Coffee in Asagaya. I went during lunchtime and ordered the Hoshino Blend. They have a variety of coffee beans clearly listed on the menu, making it easy to choose based on your mood even if you're not very knowledgeable about coffee. It's a great place to relax alone with a book or enjoy a conversation with friends. This time, I had a leisurely time chatting with friends in the cozy atmosphere. I couldn't forget the souffle and decided to revisit. It's rare to find such delicious souffles and pancakes at a chain store. This time, I also tried their meals, which had the taste of a classic cafe, and it was good. I ordered lasagna, which was a modest size, allowing me to enjoy the meal, dessert, and coffee all in one go, which was great. I often end up getting too full from the meal and can't make it to the dessert I wanted, so this size was perfect for someone like me who wants to try a variety of dishes. Some locations can be crowded and hard to get into, but the Asagaya store is relatively easy to get into, so I want to make good use of it.

On August 4th, my wife and I visited Koenji and Asagaya for the first time. We stopped by this cafe because we were feeling thirsty. It was a hot day, so this was our second cafe stop of the day. My wife ordered the "Fruit Tea" (¥700 excluding tax) and I got the "Iced Coffee" (¥400 excluding tax). The Fruit Tea was filled with orange, lemon, blueberry, kiwi, and peach, with plenty of fruits which was delightful. It had just the right amount of sweetness and a strong fruit flavor, very delicious. The portion was also generous. The Iced Coffee had a nice roasted bean aroma and tasted great. We sat on the second floor on this day, and the atmosphere was calming and relatively quiet, allowing us to relax and cool down comfortably.

I came here wanting to eat "baked souffle pancakes". When I entered a similar cafe in Singapore before, it was more open and had a casual family restaurant atmosphere, but Japan's Hoshino Coffee has a classical coffee shop feel. It's a nice and relaxing place. The souffle pancakes took a generous 20 minutes to arrive as requested. On top, there was a dollop of whipped butter. You can choose from black honey, honey, or maple syrup to pour over it as much as you like. The souffle pancakes were fluffy. It's not the new type that is soft and moist, or the classic type with a crispy surface and fluffy inside, but a third style... I guess. The honey was absorbed into the sponge cake as soon as I poured it, and when I cut it and brought it to my mouth, it melted and dissolved, which was delicious. Thanks to the two-floor layout of the 1st and 2nd floors, the table spacing was sufficient. I had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

■Visited in July 2019 for a time adjustment. Located in the heart of the Pearl Center arcade in Asagaya, this is a coffee shop chain affiliated with Doutor. Upon entering, I couldn't believe my eyes. The interior was completely different from the suburban store I had visited before. The suburban store in Saitama reminded me of a family restaurant like "Komeda", while this one had a dark interior with antique-style chairs, similar to a traditional coffee shop like "Colorado". Colorado is an old-fashioned coffee shop affiliated with the Doutor chain that is quietly expanding in the shopping streets along private railway lines. - Iced coffee (L size) 540 yen I had read reviews mentioning the high prices at the Hoshino in the city center, so I was prepared, but the price was exactly the same as the suburban Hoshino. The iced coffee that arrived was in a so-called "medium-sized glass", similar to a "paper beer cup at a baseball game". I thought there might not be much volume, but it was actually more than a regular iced coffee. Unlike the main Doutor, they didn't blatantly use a lot of ice to fill up the glass, which was good. After all, the ice that covers the glass at the main Doutor is basically a "no lingering allowed" measure, right? (laughs) The taste was just delicious. I find that the difference between iced coffee and hot coffee is not very noticeable. Except for "really delicious" ones, I still can't enjoy coffee without adding sugar and milk.

I arrived in Asagaya around 5:30 pm on May 2019. I had dinner plans for the day, but decided to kill some time before that. I searched for a Doutor cafe, but it was a bit far from the station. Instead, I found a Hoshino Coffee shop near the station and decided to head there. It was located inside the arcade shopping street in front of the station. The shop was full when I entered, and they were turning away customers. It seems to be quite popular. I thought Doutor and Hoshino Coffee were part of the same chain, but maybe Hoshino Coffee took a more high-end route. Unfortunately, you can't use the Doutor points card at Hoshino Coffee (^^;) You can use it at Excelsior though. I ordered an iced coffee for 400 yen, without any food since it was before my meal. Rating at the time of posting: 3.07

I maintained my weight at 53.1kg/31.5%. Yesterday, I ate 6 pieces of tempura but it seemed to be okay. I also had a lunch appointment and ate a fondant chocolat. And shrimp tomato cream pasta. I made another appointment on the spot. Some people can do this while others can't, and I feel like I am influenced by my feelings. I also had burnt imagawayaki (ate the middle and the sides) and a mini tendon with brown rice. The Asagaya people, known for being stingy, are still popular enough to have a waiting list for seats. Truly, the restaurants with real skills are different. The staple seems to be pancakes. Today, I ordered a roll cake. I was satisfied with its mild sweetness.

On weekdays nights, it was not crowded. It was my first time visiting, and I found the interior to be long and narrow, giving a slightly cramped feeling. There was a second floor as well, but I was directed to the first floor so I didn't get to see it. I had the Hoshino Blend for 450 yen and a cafe au lait for 520 yen. I would like to visit again as it is more relaxing compared to other coffee shops.
