The Tokyo Metro 24-hour ticket is different from other railway one-day tickets in that it is valid for 24 hours from the time of entry. This time, I entered Yotsuya-sanchome Station at 9:59 am, so it is valid until 9:59 am the next day. I visited 6 places within this 24-hour period.
1. After finishing my morning errands, I went to cafe su-su, a 5-minute walk from Shin-Nakano Station in Nakano Ward, recommended by a popular food blogger in Nakano. I had a hot coffee and toast morning set. Transportation cost: 168 yen (Marunouchi Line from Yotsuya-sanchome to Shin-Nakano).
2. I aimed to reach the popular dim sum restaurant, Hoomimann, in Yoyogi-Hachiman by their opening time at 11:30 am. I had a highball at Shin-Nakano Station, Shinjuku-sanchome Station, Meiji-Jingu-mae Station, and Yoyogi-Koen Station before enjoying 2 plates of dim sum. Transportation cost: 199 yen (Marunouchi Line from Shin-Nakano to Shinjuku-sanchome) / 367 yen total.
3. I learned from a food blogger that Tenka Ippin in Suidobashi Nishiguchi has a great selection of appetizers. I walked from Yoyogi-Koen Station to Kudanshita Station via Meiji-Jingu-mae Station, Kokkai-gijidomae Station, and Nagatacho Station due to delays on the Tozai Line. I arrived at Tenka Ippin during lunchtime and enjoyed a light meal with an oolong highball. Transportation cost: 168 yen (Chiyoda Line from Yoyogi-Koen to Kudanshita) / 535 yen total.
4. Instead of returning the way I came, I walked down to Jimbocho and took the Hanzomon Line to Omotesando. I visited Darumaya, a Japanese-style Chinese restaurant that I had been looking forward to. I had a cheap highball with Daruma soba and felt satisfied. I then returned to Shinjuku, ending my day. Transportation cost: 168 yen (Ginza Line from Omotesando to Akasaka-mitsuke, Marunouchi Line to Shinjuku) / 871 yen total.
5. The next morning, I had breakfast in Okachimachi at Takumi Soba, a newly opened soba restaurant. Transportation cost: 199 yen (Marunouchi Line from Shinjuku to Akasaka-mitsuke) / 1,070 yen total.
6. For the post-trip meeting, I got off at Yotsuya and walked to Moriba along Shinjuku-dori. Moriba has a comfortable interior with Wi-Fi and power outlets. I enjoyed a Mori blend R coffee. Transportation cost: 199 yen (Hibiya Line from Naka-Okachimachi to Ginza, Marunouchi Line to Yotsuya) / 168 yen total. Final transportation cost total: 1,437 yen.
In total, I spent 5,960 yen for food and transportation, visiting 6 places and enjoying a day out in Tokyo. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes as I walked 17,951 steps during this 24-hour trip. It's a fun way to explore the city and enjoy different landscapes between subway stations. If you have the chance, I highly recommend trying this Tokyo Metro 24-hour trip.
