Located just a short walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station, this restaurant is one of the popular spots in the area. We didn't have a reservation, but they said we could stay for an hour before the next booking. We quickly ordered starting with a toast with beer! The kimchi is said to be popular, and it was delicious - sweet at first, then spicy. We ordered a serving of each type of meat, and the portions were generous. The red meat and hormone were both tender and flavorful. The sauce was rich, so we ended up ordering some white rice to go with it. The soy-based sweet sauce was perfect with the rice. The liver was also tender and tasty. We ordered more dishes and some gin and soda, which arrived promptly. The staff even noticed when our grill needed changing. Before we knew it, it was last call, but we continued eating. I wish we could have taken our time, so next time I'll be sure to make a reservation. I now understand why this place is so popular - the menu is extensive, the presentation is beautiful, and everything was delicious!

There are not many delicious restaurants that are open until morning. When I finish work late, I sometimes struggle to find a place to eat with friends. In Shinjuku, there are not many convenient yakiniku restaurants, but this place is recommended for casual dining. They are open from 12 pm to 5 am, and there are two other branches nearby. The restaurant is located a 1-2 minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. It is also about a 10-minute walk from Shin-Okubo. Reservations can be made by phone, and they are open all day so you can visit casually in the early afternoon and enjoy reasonably priced yakiniku. I have used this place occasionally for a long time, and on my recent visit, the cost-performance was still good, the seasoning was delicious, and it was very convenient. The meat is frozen, but the sauce is delicious so I am satisfied. The meat is reasonably priced, deliciously seasoned, and considering the price, there is nothing to complain about. It is a valuable restaurant in the Shinjuku area that is open until morning and has high quality. I would like to visit again. Recommended for casual yakiniku in Shinjuku. I forgot to take a picture of the meat! This yakiniku restaurant in Shinjuku is open from 11 am to 7 am the next morning. Perfect for those who are active from night time. When I went around 10:30 pm, it was full! I waited about 10 minutes to get in. Customers kept coming one after another. The spicy beef (tougarashi) was delicious. The grilled beef tripe was also good. It was delicious!

The shop is quite small and run-down, but it's a great value for the price! The thick-cut tongue is delicious and the mango cuts make it even more enjoyable. Overall, all the meats are tasty, and I also enjoyed both the cold noodles and bibimbap.

We usually have a gathering at the "Kouei Shokuan-dori store," but since Nagan-san, who was advised by the doctor to stop drinking alcohol, offered to drive us home, the boss insisted on having the gathering at the nearby "Main store" from the company's parking lot. Although I'm not a big fan of the cramped space at the "Kouei Main store," we decided to hold the gathering there this time. The "Shokuan-dori store" is usually spacious, and the young part-time staff there are cute, so I'll miss it. It's been a while since I visited the "Kouei Main store." I heard from Myrebi = Debuneko-san that the sparkling fresh Makgeolli is good, so I specifically requested the fresh Makgeolli this time! There are two types of Makgeolli: "fresh (sen) Makgeolli," which is not heat-treated, and "Makgeolli," which is heat-sterilized. The fresh Makgeolli has a refreshing taste with a slight carbonation. The heat-treated Makgeolli allows you to enjoy a rich taste and aroma. It is recommended to drink both at around 5°C. This sparkling Makgeolli is really good. I couldn't help but have multiple refills. According to the article I researched about Makgeolli, it mentioned that Makgeolli has a low calorie content, so it is okay to drink even when on a diet. However, I forgot the last warning in the article, which said that even though Makgeolli has low calories, overeating snacks will negate the purpose of the diet. I have been to this restaurant many times, but this is my first time posting a review. As the name suggests, the hormone (offal) here is incredibly delicious. The cost is high for me, but the quality of the meat is really good, so I think it's worth it. It's a very popular restaurant, so making a reservation is a must.

Today, I'm getting pumped up for lunch and going to feast on some meat! I decided to go to the famous restaurant in Higashi Shinjuku Okubo that I haven't been to in a while - Horumon Yaki Kounaga Main Store. Thick-cut tongue steak for ¥1,800, select kalbi for ¥2,300, jumbo harami steak for ¥1,750. The meat here is top-notch! The charcoal grill outside the restaurant is impressive and it does a great job of removing excess fat. Kounaga is truly amazing! I may have overindulged a bit for lunch!笑

In a Japanese-style room, surrounded by shichirin grills, this yakiniku restaurant had no disappointments. The hearty grilled meat dishes all paired well with white rice, with the sauce being particularly recommended. Eating the green chili peppers with the side dishes was also very delicious! The prices were reasonable and the service was good, making it convenient to visit.

Chokouei ~ Charcoal-grilled meat ~ Yakiniku ~ Delicious~ The tongue comes in thick slices, thin slices, and with sauce, all enjoyable. The sauce harami is so flavorful that you don't even need to dip it in sauce. Rice is a must, and the kimchi with garlic is amazing, making it the best. Will definitely be back again, even late at night.

Koei is a famous yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurant that has been popular in Kabukicho since the old days. With four branches along Shokuan Street, they have expanded from Kabukicho to Haneda Airport. Their corporate website boasts impressive profit margins, leading me to believe they may be a Korean-owned company. The food is incredibly delicious, and every time I visit, all the branches are packed full. They stay open late, making it a great spot for a meal after a night of drinking. Koei has become an oasis for everyone living in Shinjuku, offering consistent and exceptional flavors. The highlight is the "horumon" (offal) dish, made from the finest cuts of meat. The atmosphere is always lively, with a real sense of community among the regulars. Though my time in this neighborhood has come to an end, I hope Koei will continue to thrive for many years to come. Thank you, Koei, for always being amazing.

Located a 2-minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku, this is the go-to spot for late-night yakiniku in Kabukicho. I've been a regular here for a while now. Whether I'm drunk or sober, they always serve up delicious, high-quality meat. I always order the same set whenever I go to a yakiniku restaurant. Today, I added the meat rice to my order! It's a dish made by mixing horumon dare with rice. It's not just great with the meat, but it's also delicious as a standalone dish. It's like devil rice, a guilty pleasure... You know you shouldn't eat it, but you can't help yourself. The meat is fantastic, but this rice is something you might not find elsewhere. Thank you for the meal.

Just 30 seconds from exit A1 of the station, do a somersault and you're there. Next to Hanare. A famous spot in Shinjuku Kabukicho that is loved by all horumon enthusiasts! With a wide variety of unique items not found in other stores, we look forward to welcoming you. I visited on a weekday night. It was the day for my iPhone's surgery in Shinjuku. The doctor was really something. I wonder if what he said was true... A major operation lasting 2 hours. After it was over, I thought of grabbing sushi, but the line was too long so I gave up. If fish is not an option, then it has to be meat! A 180-degree turn in decision making! You have to decide quickly or else you'll be starving. Walked to Higashi Shinjuku. There are apparently 5 stores in Shinjuku, which is amazing. When you think of Shinjuku, you think of Sainen, right? I didn't have a reservation, but I waited a bit and was able to enter. It's the store on the left with tatami seating. Take off your shoes and sit down. The seat spacing is narrow, making it a popular casual dining spot. Other stores may have private rooms or more spacious seating. But, the main store is the best, right? There are many foreign staff members, making it a global place. It's amazing that they are open until 7 in the morning. Maybe it's fueled by the energy of the people working around here. I first visited this place about 4 years ago when my senior colleague took me there. He always had around 3 million yen in his wallet and his job was a mystery, but he was a great eater. It was a great place even late at night, but we were reckless. It was incredibly delicious, a memorable horumon restaurant. I have visited several times since then. It seems like registering on LINE is advantageous. Now it's non-smoking with ashtrays outside. Items I enjoyed today (excerpt): Honestly, everything here is delicious no matter what you order. When you order meat, a shichirin grill is brought to your table. The intake duct is excellent, with a light right next to it, creating a magical atmosphere that makes the food taste even better. Delicious! This thick tongue is a bomb! A hand grenade! Mark II type! It's amazing! Cut it with scissors and add yuzu pepper if you like. The zabuton requested with sauce is a rare cut. It has a large block with a satisfying bite! When you take a bite, the chopsticks slipped from my hand... It's delicious! Delicious!! Bring me a seat cushion, Yamada-kun! You must try this. The stone-grilled cheese mentaiko is a choice from the rice dishes! The staff will mix it for you. Needless to say, when it comes to yakiniku, this place is a must-visit. The Aotoaeyama top-quality hormone is a must-order. The combination with white rice is so perfect that I always end up coming back for more. I've lost count of how many times I've been here, but one thing is for sure - it's delicious! ♡

A yakiniku restaurant located right near Higashi-Shinjuku Station. The reviews were great, so I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was very casual and the prices ranged from affordable to quite expensive. I tried some of the pricier options this time, including horumon, and it was delicious! Regular Shinjuku late-night yakiniku! This time, I went to the main store of "Kounagai". It's almost in Okubo, beyond Kabuki. There is a sister store in Ichiban-gai, but it doesn't open late at night, so I went to the main store which is far from the station. I had reserved a course with all-you-can-drink. The 3-hour special course (8800 yen) was what I chose. They didn't provide any place to put our belongings, so we had to put our bags and jackets on the floor, which was a bit uncomfortable. But then, the first drink arrived and the course started! The Namul and Kimchi assortment was set individually from the beginning, with salad and other side dishes filling up the table quickly. We stopped talking and started eating so that the meat wouldn't get cold. The meat kept coming one after another - tongue, harami, zabuton, misuji, shishito pepper, shrimp, hormone, top mino, and finally, for some reason, chicken seseri. The Wagyu beef was all good quality, but there was less hormone than expected for a hormone-focused restaurant. The dessert of strawberries was a nice palate cleanser. Thank you for the meal.

I made a phone reservation in the morning for 17:30. At first, we enjoyed Yukke and Wagyu tataki without a shichirin, and later we had hormone and jumbo harami steak with the shichirin. Due to the crowd, last order was in 1.5 hours, and we had to leave in 2 hours, but we were able to eat to our satisfaction.

The restaurant is so popular that you need to make a reservation in advance to get in on weekends. The inside of the restaurant is filled with the aroma of charcoal smoke. This time, the premium tongue salt was delicious with sweet meat juice coming out when you bite into it! We also ordered the green onion tongue salt, but the frozen tongue slices were tough and lacked meat juice when grilled, showing a clear difference in taste. Upon reviewing the menu, we realized that the premium option was missing from the green onion tongue, which was disappointing. However, the marbled sirloin was beautifully fatty.

I forgot to get the stamp - it's been a while since I last visited, and as usual, the meat quality was incredibly delicious. I never try anything new, so I had the heart sashimi salad, thick-cut beef tongue, harami steak, and premium hormone. If you make a specific request, you'll be kicked out in 2 hours, so you can't eat slowly. I wanted to eat more meat and soup after that. It's just a rule, so there's no choice.

It's so popular that there's always a long line, but I had to try the thick-cut beef tongue and stone pot bibimbap. Both were delicious! The domestic beef tongue is definitely recommended. The staff were mostly foreigners, so it was a bit difficult to communicate. It's tough to find jobs these days, right?

Kounaga Main Store (Higashi Shinjuku) A shop I have visited many times. Good cost performance, delicious meat, one of the few shops I occasionally feel like going to. The popular menu at Kounaga, such as the exquisite hormone, as well as the delicious misuji and tan, are recommended. A great yakiniku restaurant.
