Coming from the opposite side of JR, you can see it right in front of you. I didn't have many opportunities to go into Lawson, surprisingly. They have a new onigiri called "Kan Shari" released in a commercial. I remember Hikikomori-kun mentioning it, so I decided to give it a try. This store seems to have special initiatives, according to Lawson's website. It's a city-type experimental store open since October 5, 2018. The store is called "Lawson JEBL Akihabara Square Store" in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. It's relatively small, aiming to test efficiency and convenience for customers in urban areas. The store layout seemed similar, and the self-service style is emphasized. It may increase efficiency for the store, but there's no apparent benefit for customers. I grabbed some Karaage-kun and the newly released "Kan Shari Grilled Blackthroat Seaperch" and "Kan Shari Kelp-Infused Red Seabream" as requested by Hikikomori-kun. My friend was satisfied with his choices. I also got my favorite dessert bread from Yamazaki. The "Big Danish Donut" and "Creamy Whip Danish" were delicious, especially the Karaage-kun. The texture is addicting. Hikikomori-kun's review: "Creamy Whip Danish" with fluffy whipped cream and a gentle sweetness, moist and soft bread, I finished it in one go. Convenience store snack bread is truly amazing. The "Kan Shari Grilled Blackthroat Seaperch" and "Kan Shari Kelp-Infused Red Seabream" were decent onigiri, but nothing extraordinary. The fillings were generous, but the flavor was average. At the checkout, I remembered the "Pontacard." I rarely use it at Lawson or Kent's. "Excuse me, the card..." "You can't use it until after payment!"... Oh well, I did pay, but there's still no added value with points.

FGO and Lawson's collaboration campaign has started, and this store is wrapped in FGO-themed decorations. The exterior and interior of the store have illustrations of FGO characters, but on food review sites, only the logo photos are posted as they want to focus on the items purchased. When entering the store, Da Vinci-chan's voice greets you. On a weekday around 11 am in November 2018, I visited the store.
The Lawson x FGO campaign started on November 13th, featuring Ishtar, Ereshkigal, and Enkidu. By purchasing 3 eligible snacks, you can get a clear file, and by buying 1 Yunker, you can receive a stick poster. As part of the campaign, Lawson is selling FGO (Fried Garlic Onion) flavored Karaage-kun, and the regular Karaage-kun packaging has been FGO-themed. The packaging features illustrations of FGO Servants (characters). This store had a large stock of original goods, unlike the local Lawson stores where the goods were already sold out. When I visited the store 4 hours after the campaign started, the replica original drawings were sold out except for Enkidu.
I purchased the FGO flavored Karaage-kun for 216 yen (including tax). The store has a self-service system for hot food, so you can easily spot the FGO-themed illustrations on the Karaage-kun packages. The freshly fried Karaage-kun was soft and juicy, and the FGO flavor with garlic made it quite energizing.
On November 20, the second wave of FGO products was released, including FGO Big Thunder that sold out quickly everywhere. I managed to find a box of Country Ma'am cookies with a colored paper inside. I bought the FGO Country Ma'am Cocoa flavor for 600 yen (including tax). The cookies had a cocoa flavor with a chocolate filling, and the colored paper featured one of the six Valentine's concept illustrations.
Lawson's FGO collaboration campaign was also held in 2017. I remember buying Yunker back then to get a colored paper with a male character design, even though I wasn't playing FGO at the time. I'll share a picture from that time for reference.

Got off at Akihabara Station. Walked towards the Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba store on the right and further into the Akihabara Square Building, an office building on the 1st floor of which there is a convenience store chain. There is another Lawson on the way from Akihabara Station to Square Building, so it's easy to get confused. There is a small seating area inside, and for hot food, you can open the lid of the warming case and serve yourself.
I visited on a Saturday afternoon in August after finding information about this store on Tabelog while researching restaurants around Akihabara Station. Upon entering, I was greeted by a cute boy's voice with tsundere lines. Who is this!? So cute and tsundere. As I walked around the store, I noticed that the freezer doors were wrapped with characters from A3!, a game about training handsome actors. The characters are divided into Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter groups. The wrapping characters belonged to the Summer group. I don't know much about A3! as I haven't played it, but I know that the character with green hair in the Summer group is the one I'm most interested in. I felt fate when I saw the wrapping of the Summer group. The tsundere voice I heard when entering the store was probably that character. Happy-chan is cute, but I'm an Ensemble Stars user, so I don't play A3!. They were selling A3! original goods, but I'm not interested in merchandise from a series I don't know, so I bought sweets from Lawson (including 8% consumption tax).
The items I bought were:
- Tops Supervised Crispy Chocolate Choux ¥180
Tops is famous for its chocolate cakes, and the Crispy Chocolate Choux is a Lawson exclusive. It's a choux pastry filled with chocolate in the dough, cream, and on the surface, creating a chocolate-filled cream puff. The chocolate on the surface has crunchy bits mixed in, giving it a crispy texture, and despite being full of chocolate, it's not as heavy as it looks.
Visited again on a weekday in September. Since I had the Tops choux pastry last time, I decided to try Lawson's own UC Chocolate Choux this time to see how it compares (including 8% consumption tax).
The item I bought was:
- UC Chocolate Choux ¥180
The choux pastry is covered with chocolate on the surface, and the cream inside initially tastes rich but loses its impact halfway through.

I saw something... what was it... maybe on the internet news? I ended up buying it (laughs). Unfortunately, the outside is fluffy... I think the one from FamilyMart was better in terms of firmness... It's good that there's no whipped cream ✨ However, the taste is delicious ✨ It felt quite sweet, but the rum is also noticeable! But I like it crispy! Well, crunchy!!

Lawson and Fate collaboration campaign content will be summarized here. ... From January 2019, a collaboration campaign with the movie "Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel] II. lost butterfly" started on a weekday on 01/08, and one week later on 01/15, a Chinese bun inspired by the familiar Fate series character "Saber Alter" was released (including 8% consumption tax). The ordered item is priced at ¥200 including tax for the Alter Bun (black sesame paste-filled). The surface of the Chinese bun has Alter's hair and visor, with black sesame paste inside. Despite not usually eating black sesame sweets, it had a mild taste that I could finish. After finishing, my tongue was slightly black, so it seems better to eat it at home rather than while out. Well... the next Lawson collaboration food will be the FF14 package Karaage-kun.
