Burger King's new product. I thought I should try the Big Bet, which started selling in mid-March. There were many articles on social media and blogs comparing it to McDonald's Big Mac, saying it was a copycat. The Aurora sauce used in the Big Mac is similar, and even the naming, "Big Bet," gives off a Big Mac vibe. It seems to be part of a "betting the company" promotion, but McDonald's griddle-cooked burgers and Burger King's flame-grilled burgers are in completely different categories. It seems silly and disrespectful to compare them and evaluate them. Plus, the Big Mac is under 500 yen, while the Big Bet is over 1000 yen. It's rude to compare them on the same level. This may be due to Burger King's recent preference for provocative promotions, but it feels unpleasant. However, I'm curious. I want to try it, so I'll try it. I asked for extra pickles and half-cut. When I lift it, it's heavy. The wrapper is labeled "BB," representing the Big Bet. When I unwrap it, I see a hamburger cut in half. When I open it, the meaty cross-section is impressive. Two buns with Aurora sauce, two patties, plenty of shredded lettuce, cheese in between, and onion slices. No unnecessary extras like tomato or avocado, which is nice. The delicious smell of grilled beef wafts from it. Because it's flame-grilled, the fat is perfectly cooked, giving it a barbecue-like aroma that is already delicious before eating. When you eat it, it's all about the meat. The generous lettuce, cheese, and the proud Aurora sauce all taste like meat. Even the extra pickles I added are overshadowed by the delicious smell and taste of the grilled patty. The only standout is the onion slices. They are juicy, spicy, and enhance the sweetness of the meat's fat, leaving a refreshing finish. The lettuce in the Big Mac is finely shredded, but here, the leaves are firmly sandwiched, giving a satisfying crispness. Thanks to the thickness of the patty, the jaw and back teeth feel the deliciousness. Not bad. When you leave the gnawed remains, it stands up. This is proof of its thickness and the sturdy patty. The freshly fried French fries were also delicious, and I was satisfied. Recommended.
