Having lunch with my wife at our usual Tsukiji spot. I remembered that there was a restaurant on the second floor of Hotel Keikyu Tsukiji Ginza Grande, near Tsukiji River Park, where we could have lunch, and since it was raining, we decided to go there. We arrived around 12:20. The restaurant, Tomoru, is relatively new and has just been renovated, so the interior is very beautiful. There were quite a few tables, and it seemed like the staff was working hard to manage them all. It took a while for the staff to notice us, but that was understandable given the circumstances, so we patiently waited for our turn. We were seated by the window overlooking the park. We carefully looked through the menu book. The food is from the same group as the renowned Tsukiji restaurant, Kacho. I had been curious about this sister restaurant for a while, so my expectations were high. The hotel restaurant offered a lunch buffet set for an additional 500 yen, which included salad, soup, dessert, and a drink, so we decided to go for it. My wife ordered the recommended lunch of the day, which was the fried horse mackerel lunch for 1300 yen, plus the lunch buffet for 500 yen, totaling 1800 yen. I ordered the hand-kneaded hamburger steak with simmered daikon and miso sauce for 1800 yen, plus the lunch buffet for 500 yen, totaling 2300 yen. While waiting, I prepared a salad from the buffet. I ended up piling my plate high with salad, almost like a salad lunch. I sprinkled fried onions on top, drizzled French dressing, and my plate was full of salad. The soup, miso soup, and fruits were orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. I also grabbed a mini cake and Bavarois, and chose black tea as my drink before returning to my seat. After finishing the salad, the hamburger steak and fried horse mackerel arrived. I tried a piece of my wife's fried horse mackerel, and it was delicious. The tartar sauce complemented it perfectly. The hamburger steak looked quite different from the menu photo, but the taste surprised me in a good way. The daikon and miso sauce paired perfectly with the hamburger steak, making it incredibly delicious. It was so tasty that I couldn't stop eating. It felt like I had eaten two meals' worth of lunch, and I was completely full. Finally, I received a cup of hot coffee to relax. The lunch for two cost 4100 yen, but the satisfaction from the buffet and the beautiful ambiance made it worth the price. Thank you for the delicious meal. We will definitely come back!
