Today's lunch was the service lunch at Hasegawa in Asakusabashi - fried horse mackerel and croquette for 600 yen. The calm atmosphere of this place is becoming addictive. They also have manga available, which shows the owner's preferences. The freshly fried dishes were delicious as always.

Today's lunch at Asakusabashi, I ordered the daily special lunch set (Chicken Katsu) for 600 yen at Hasegawa. It used to be noodles every day, but recently there are more set meals. The katsu is fried after ordering, so it takes time, but it was crispy from start to finish. Seriously, it was so delicious!

Today's lunch was at Hasegawa in Asakusabashi, where I had the grilled fish set meal (mackerel) for 650 yen. It was my first time dining here! The crispy texture of the mackerel skin, the tender mackerel meat, perfectly cooked white rice, delicious yellow pickles and tofu. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm, with a nostalgic Showa era vibe, making me feel like time was moving slowly.

I was supposed to go to a different restaurant but it was closed for summer vacation, so I ended up coming here instead. The staff, both in the dining area and kitchen, greeted me warmly with "irasshaimase!" It was a very friendly place. The service lunch was 600 yen, and other lunch sets (A~C) were 750 yen. The portions were generous and the food was very satisfying. If I ever crave fried food, I will definitely come back here! Thank you for the meal!

I was planning to order the traditional pork cutlet at the "Tonkatsu" restaurant, but I saw the words "Mixed Fry Set Meal" on the menu on the wall, so I asked the owner about it. There were options like "Pork Cutlet & Horse Mackerel Fry," but I ended up ordering the first one I mentioned. The set meal included tofu, pickled radish, miso soup, rice, and the main dish for 750 yen. When I received the bill, I couldn't believe it, but it was true. The horse mackerel fry was cooked perfectly, with a crispy coating. The pork cutlet was tender, and the coating was light and delicious. I also appreciated that they provided furikake (rice seasoning) on the table.

Hasegawa, which was usually closed on weekends whenever I visited, was open today so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised to see that the menu was very affordable, with today's special lunch set of tonkatsu for only 600 yen. I ordered the Fry Mix Set (750 yen) with tonkatsu and fried horse mackerel, and asked for a smaller portion of rice. An elderly lady was in charge of the floor and seemed to be taking care of the regular customers, even accommodating an elderly man who just used the restroom and left without ordering. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. Since the rice was still too much for me, I asked for a smaller portion. The meal also came with cold tofu, nostalgic yellow pickles, miso soup, and furikake for the rice. The tonkatsu was old-fashioned, about 1cm thick, and well-cooked. I was surprised to find chicken wings instead of the expected fried horse mackerel, but they turned out to be delicious. The fried horse mackerel was actually tastier than the tonkatsu. The rice was also very good. All of this for only 750 yen, which is incredibly cheap. The restaurant allows smoking.

Tonkatsu restaurant in Asakusabashi. There are quite a few tonkatsu shops around Asakusabashi Station. This is a long-established tonkatsu restaurant. The homey atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice. I ordered shrimp fry and two pork cutlets for 1,200 yen. The white rice was served generously, and I became quite full. There are many variations of fried foods, so you can enjoy different combinations, which is a nice point! It's a tonkatsu restaurant where you can come back without getting tired of it!! It was delicious!

Yesterday's lunch was at Hasegawa-san, located near Asakusabashi Guard, where I had the tonkatsu set meal. It's a super Showa-era tonkatsu restaurant run by an elderly couple. Tonpura! What? It's tempura made with pork loin! It was refreshing and delicious. It goes well with either salt or soy sauce. And the best part? It only costs 650 yen! I was worried if it was too cheap to be good, but the kind service from the landlady and the quality of the ingredients and oil reassured me. It was light and tasty. Thank you for the meal♪♪ #AsakusabashiLunchClub #Tonpura

[Location] Exit the east exit of JR Asakusabashi Station, make a U-turn to the right and head towards Akihabara under the elevated train tracks. The shop will be on your left.
[Store, Interior] The exterior of the shop has a cool, warehouse-like appearance. Inside, there are table seats on both sides, and the kitchen is at the back. The second floor seems to be either a residence or a tatami seating area.
[Cuisine] The tonkatsu set meal is 600 yen, and the most expensive menu item is the loin cutlet set meal for 900 yen. From the set menu, I ordered the tonkatsu and fried horse mackerel for 750 yen. After a short wait, the dishes arrived. The tonkatsu was slightly small due to the price, and the fried horse mackerel was plump. It came with rice, miso soup, cold tofu, and pickles for 750 yen. Considering we are in the Reiwa era now, I think this price is a bargain. I started with the tonkatsu, which was thin but well-prepared and delicious. The fried horse mackerel was thick and juicy. There was also furikake on the table, which was a nice addition to the rice.
[Drinks] Hot tea was served.
[Service] The shop was run by the master and the lady boss. I wonder how many years they have been in business? It seems like it has been over 20 years, but I'm not sure. The shop has a nostalgic Showa era vibe. I hope this review helps you in choosing a restaurant.

Today's lunch was at Hasegawa-san. It's a tonkatsu restaurant near Asakusabashi Station with a traditional atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable. I ordered the Fry Mix set meal in a large portion. The plate was half filled with a mountain of cabbage, and the other half had tonkatsu and fried horse mackerel. The tonkatsu was crispy and delicious. It also came with rice, miso soup, pickles, and cold tofu as a side dish. The tonkatsu had a satisfying crunch and was enjoyable. I had a delicious meal at this long-established restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I always passed by this shop and was curious about it, but today was my first visit! The inside of the shop is not very big, with six tables. Luckily, a two-person table was available. I ordered the Fry Mix Set A (Tonkatsu and Aji Fry for 750 yen) from the friendly female owner. Today's lunch special was 600 yen, but I prefer meat. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The Tonkatsu was a bit thin, but the Aji Fry was thick and juicy. The rice portion was generous. By the time I finished my meal, the crowded shop had emptied out, leaving only me. In the quiet atmosphere, I heard a familiar sound - a nostalgic pendulum clock (cuckoo clock) above my head. It chimed once at half past one, bringing back memories of the Showa era. It's a shop that makes you feel the nostalgia!

The lungs were invaded by a virus, causing a high fever of 40 degrees for three days. On the fourth day, I really wanted to eat a powerful lunch, so I wandered around Asakusabashi. I was drawn to the sign of Fry Mix and decided to go in! The store has a warehouse-like appearance, perhaps due to the location in Asakusabashi. Inside, as other reviewers have mentioned, it feels like the Showa era, specifically the 1940s to 1950s. The sound of the clock's hands feels like it transcends time and space. I ordered the Fry Mix B for 750 yen as seen on the sign outside. It was a combination of a slightly smaller Menchi Katsu and a bit less than usual amount of Squid Fry, but the portion was sufficient. The rice was served in a large bowl, almost overflowing. As someone recovering from illness, I may not be able to finish it all. The Squid Fry had a strong salty flavor, almost too much for my taste. I didn't even need sauce for it. The Menchi Katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. It was a hearty lunch that helped me regain my strength, and I would like to visit again once I'm feeling better. I managed to finish it all, but it was a bit tough to do so.

I dropped by for lunch today. I was in the mood for menchi katsu since morning. I had checked the menu of this restaurant before after a previous lunch, so I decided to visit. It was 11:55. No customers before me, 6 customers after. The restaurant had 4 tables for 4 people on the first floor, 2 tables for 2 people, and probably more seating on the second floor. When I sat down, the owner brought a sports newspaper, a cold towel, and cold tea. Nice touch. This time, I ordered the "menchi katsu set meal" for 650 yen as planned. While watching the TV weather forecast, it arrived in about 5 minutes. The menchi katsu looked like a straw sandal size. The rice portion was normal but the serving size was large. It also came with miso soup, cold tofu, and pickled radish. I took a bite of the menchi katsu. It was good, not extremely juicy, but a satisfying side dish with rice. The salad had a good amount. The miso soup was tofu miso soup, also delicious. The rice portion was quite large. Even after finishing the side dishes, there was still some rice left, but there was furikake on the table, so I managed to finish without getting tired of it. I'm full. For 650 yen, I think it's a good deal. However, it's not smoke-free, so the cigarette smoke was a bit strong, which was disappointing. There are still many fried food set meals on the menu, so I would like to visit again when I'm in the mood for that.

I often visit Asakusabashi. While ramen and gyudon are good options, I felt like eating tonkatsu. I noticed the "Today's Special Lunch - Tonkatsu for 600 yen" and decided to try it. The old sliding door creaked as I entered, and the restaurant was crowded. I was asked to share a table with someone else. Even during lunchtime, smoking was allowed, which I found unpleasant after eating. After about 5 minutes, a table opened up and I was able to move. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and it was quite a generous portion for the price of 600 yen. The menu had a variety of options, and it seemed they also serve alcohol in the evenings. The breading was crispy, and the meat was a bit tough, but considering it was only 600 yen, it was acceptable. Thank you for the meal.

I hesitated a bit before entering the shop, but I gathered my courage and opened the sliding door. The shop had a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, making it feel like I had traveled back in time. I sat at a two-person table in a cozy corner. The lunch menu displayed only a few items outside, but inside, there were various options including fried dishes, oden, and nikudofu set meals. I decided to order the simmered fish set meal (650 yen) since it was listed as flounder today. The flounder was bigger than I expected, a female one with roe. The broth was slightly on the stronger side, not quite to my taste compared to other places like Takesen or Michinoku, but still delicious. I skipped the furikake. The cold tofu was made of cotton tofu, a refreshing palate cleanser. The miso soup had tofu and wakame, pretty standard. The rice was a bit soft but within an acceptable range. I also got two slices of round pickled daikon. For 650 yen, this meal was quite satisfying. The fried horse mackerel that someone else ordered looked delicious too. There were no smokers during my meal, but ashtrays were provided on each table, indicating that smoking might be allowed during lunch. I would like to try other menu items like fried dishes next time. Thank you for the meal.
