I went to "Yakiniku Jojoen Sansantei Higashi Ikebukuro" located a 3-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station!
- Kalbi Kuppa Lunch 1,300 yen
- Extra Rice 250 yen
Sansantei offers the same quality meat as Jojoen. The salad with salted cabbage dressing was refreshing. The Kuppa had eggs, onions, seaweed, carrots, and white rice. The meat in it was delicious, just like Jojoen's. I added extra rice, which was surprisingly tasty. It was so good with kimchi on top. If you want a delicious Jojoen-style lunch, Sansantei is the place to go! ✨

I visited this restaurant for the 10th time after a long time. The manager is the same as always, very efficient and speedy. The food was consistently delicious, and this time I tried mixing in some new menu items. The rib roast was incredibly large, almost overflowing, so I had it cut. It was so tender and juicy. The regular roast had a good thickness, and the tofu stew was flavorful without being too spicy. I usually order the beef brisket stew, but this time I wish I had gotten a larger size. The Yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) with apples was good, but I wish they had added more apples. Lastly, the dessert ice cream had changed! It was no longer a choice, just chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It was rich and melted perfectly. This restaurant in Ikebukuro is a hidden gem for BBQ, not well-known but always a good choice for a meal.

Ordered kalbi, loin, harami, and stone bibimbap! Once again, I realize that Seryna is consistently delicious. I recommend adding gochujang sauce to the stone bibimbap before mixing. The dessert of chocolate and vanilla ice cream is still as good as ever.

I visited around 3:00 PM on a regular day. The harami lunch had a slight smell and was tough. The kalbi kukpa lunch had a taste that I really liked. It also came in a large portion! It wasn't spicy, so I wish it had been a bit spicier. However, I was very satisfied. I also added some kalbi and tongue. I was able to enjoy some drinks as well. The prices are reasonable and I'm happy that I can use the lunch menu until 4:00 PM.

I'm hungry. There are too many shops to choose from. And the Ikebukuro-like shops are across the station. I entered a side street to avoid the crowds, and found Jyuban Saryo. The menu showed reasonably priced lunch options. Hmm, should I give it a try? The restaurant is not crowded. To survive this heat, let's have some yakiniku. I ordered the limited quantity Harami lunch. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Jyuban Saryo is clean, the taste is good, and surprisingly it's reasonably priced for a Jyuban Saryo. The rice portion is a bit generous, but the kimchi is delicious, and the salad has a decent volume and is tasty. The Harami has a satisfying texture and the sauce is delicious. I ended up eating all the rice. It was a lunch that lifted my spirits. Thank you for the meal. Now, at Brillia Hall, I watched the Tsukigumi's "Cult Wines". Even with fewer members, the chorus was beautiful. It's definitely Tsukigumi. In the Grand Theater, the top members are so fulfilling, thank you Moe-chan for singing a lot. You have grown so much, and I look forward to what's next. And A-chan. Why are you so good at acting and singing? Your overflowing aura is captivating. I can't take my eyes off you. Looking forward to your next performance. The story was also good. It settled smoothly. I believe in the Zunchan Troupe at Umeda Arts Theater to finish successfully.

[Shop Location] Approximately 5 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station East Exit on the JR Yamanote Line. [Visit Date] Saturday at 17:30. [Crowdedness] Upon entering, there were only 2 people (about 30 seats in total). However, by 18:30, it was full. [Order Details] - Negitan Shioyaki (¥3,400) - Upper Harami Yaki (¥2,500) - Hormone Assortment (¥2,250) - Jojoen Salad (¥750) - Namul (¥750) - Rice (¥350) - Ishiyaki Bibimbap (¥1,400) - Cold Noodles (¥1,200) [Impressions] Honestly, it was disappointing. The "Negitan Shioyaki" we ordered first was very thin and bland, yet priced at ¥3,400... Overall, the cost performance was not good. (The "Upper Harami Yaki" was delicious though!) When we asked for the bill upon leaving, we had to ask the staff 4 times and waited for about 10 minutes. It was a bit disappointing. It's different in taste and cost performance from my beloved Jojoen in Hamadayama, but for some reason, this place is popular. Thank you for the meal today.

I had known about this restaurant for a while, but decided to visit for lunch in Ikebukuro. It's a bit cheaper than the regular Seryna. I ordered the Kalbi lunch set for 1,700 yen and it was delicious. Even though it was just trimmings, it was really tasty. The salad and kimchi were also delicious. Overall, the seasoning suited my taste. I think Seryna is better than some high-end yakiniku restaurants. The lunch set has amazing value, so if you want to have yakiniku for lunch, definitely give it a try!

We decided to have yakiniku for lunch and ended up at this restaurant. I didn't check the prices beforehand, but this lunch ended up being over 2500 yen (laughs). It was delicious though, so all good. The meat was really tasty, it just melts in your mouth! It's great to cook and eat it yourself. I've been living off of bento for a while, so this was a nice change. The shrimp was cooked perfectly too! I could probably eat one more plate, but that's just my appetite talking. I'm full, but more like full of the delicious aftertaste of the yakiniku. Thank you for the meal.

Located in a mixed-use building near Ikebukuro Station. Visited for Saturday lunch with no crowds. Ordered the Harami lunch for 1600 yen. Comes with salad, tofu, kimchi, and more. The rice felt a bit lacking this day. The yakiniku was delicious.

Cut-off Kalbi lunch set (1700 yen) with a side of Harami (650 yen), Tan Salted Short Strips (600 yen), and Hormone Platter (600 yen). Comes with kimchi, salad, cold tofu, rice, soup, and a drink. Choose from orange juice, grapefruit juice, oolong tea, or coffee. The salad at Jojoen is so delicious, with an endless amount of vegetables. The Kalbi has great quality and generous portions. Personally, the harami and tan were just okay, so I recommend sticking with the Kalbi when you come here!

I visited "Sansantei," a franchise of the yakiniku restaurant "Jojoen" located in the east exit of Ikebukuro. I wanted to compare the differences between the main restaurant and the franchise, and I found that the interior quality of Sansantei was on par with the main restaurant. I ordered the wagyu yakiniku lunch for 2,750 yen. I was considering the lunch course as well, but the only differences were the number of appetizers, the inclusion of premium tongue, and the availability of ice cream. Since I usually have the 5,500 yen lunch at the main restaurant, I opted for the second most expensive lunch here. I felt that there was too much fat in the meat at the main restaurant, but at Sansantei, the fat content was lower and not overwhelming, which I preferred. The inclusion of grilled shrimp in the lunch set was also a nice touch. While the lunch prices here are higher compared to other yakiniku restaurants, they are still more affordable than the main restaurant, and I was relieved to find that the quality of the meat was not compromised. Now I am curious to try visiting Yuugen-Tei as well.

Shinjuku Gyoen is a relatively reasonable restaurant for a first visit. I haven't been to other Shinjuku Gyoen locations, so I'm not sure what the difference is. The meat is delicious, but I wouldn't say it was mind-blowing. Maybe because in Hyogo, you can buy good and affordable meat, and there are plenty of places to eat. The japchae and yukhoe were delicious and to my liking. Oh, and the apple sherbet was incredibly tasty. Also, the yukhoejang kookbap was delicious. I actually preferred the side dishes over the meat. Thank you for the meal!

Sunshine Street Sen-Sen-en, just before the entrance, was a bit different from the usual Sen-Sen-en, not as luxurious, but looking at the menu... the prices were quite high. Somehow felt a Korean atmosphere, especially with the Chapchae that came as a service (´・Д・) It was delicious, made in the authentic way, with a simple and comforting taste. Let's give it a try! ✧˖ ٩( 'ω' )و ✧ ˖
- Sun-Sun-Tei Yukke (1500 yen): Individual pack for hygiene and safety. It's rare to see shops taking these matters seriously nowadays. The apple was thickly cut, providing a good texture.
- Sanchu (650 yen)
- Tan Shioyaki (1200 yen): It was listed as a limited item, but we were able to order it! Perhaps it's the tip of the tongue? It had a good chewy texture.
- Upper Kalbi (2800 yen): Beautifully marbled Kalbi that melts in your mouth.
- Harami Yaki (2000 yen): Thick and satisfying Harami Yaki. It's nice that each plate of meat is accompanied by vegetables.
The staff changed the grill without us asking, showing great service. It's a high-class place with a hidden and cozy atmosphere, maybe a hidden gem! Thank you for the meal.

I went to the sister restaurant of Jyuban-en, called Sasan-tei. It was my first time at Jyuban-en, and I was surprised because I usually go to all-you-can-eat yakiniku places. Sasan-tei was on a much higher level than my usual spot, and the food was really delicious. I couldn't help but think, "What have I been eating at my regular yakiniku place?" It might be a bit exaggerated, haha. I was surprised to learn that Jyuban-en also has different ranks. I'm curious to try out higher-ranked restaurants too! I wonder how they differ.

Recently, a friend who hadn't had yakiniku in a while and I had some errands in Ikebukuro. We decided to have yakiniku for lunch in Ikebukuro. I didn't really know any good places there. So, I casually made a reservation at Sansaso, which is like a casual version or sister store of Yakiniku Jyuban. The interior of the restaurant was nice and there were no issues there. However, the quality of the meat was not as good as Yakiniku Jyuban. If I had known this in advance, I would have been able to accept it without expecting too much. It's cheap though! We added extra meat as a side dish (although we ordered it from the beginning) and we were satisfied with the price and quantity. In terms of taste, I would say it was "average" considering the balance of price and quantity. It's important not to have high expectations.
- Kalbi lunch set: 1,540 yen
- Harami lunch set: 1,540 yen
- Additional kalbi: 605 yen
- Additional tan salt: 550 yen
- Lunch beer: 330 yen

I used it for an acquaintance's birthday. When I mentioned it was a birthday when making a reservation, they took care of the seating and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The taste of the meat was excellent, and the presentation was beautiful. I am very satisfied. Thank you.

I had lunch at Sosotei Santeitei in Ikebukuro, which felt like a more affordable version of Seryu-en. It is located a few minutes' walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station, down a narrow street where the Miyagi Antenna Shop is located. I had the set menu with cut kalbi for lunch. The meat and sauce were delicious, and the salad was also of a very high quality.

Today, I had a health check-up. I had to fast from last night, so my stomach is really empty. All I had was water and barium for the test. The results show that I have a fatty liver, so I need to eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. But it's hard to resist delicious food. After skipping dinner and breakfast, I treated myself to a lunch at Jyuban-en. First, they brought out kimchi, tofu, and Jyuban-en salad. Then, the harami (skirt steak) arrived. The Jyuban-en salad was tasty, not too cold or crunchy, more like namul. Now, time to grill the harami. It's thick and delicious even without sauce. Just having a grilled meat lunch at Jyuban-en makes me feel good. Maybe I should start exploring more Jyuban-en restaurants. Thank you for the meal today!

It is a reasonable affiliated restaurant of the high-end yakiniku restaurant, Jojoen. I had never set foot in a yakiniku restaurant since spending most weekdays in Ikebukuro. However, I had always been curious about Jojoen. The concept is to provide the taste, service, and atmosphere of Jojoen at a reasonable price. I was unsure of what to order, but since it had been a while since I had yakiniku, I wanted to have some meat (laughs). I decided to order harami instead of cut kalbi as I thought cut kalbi might be too heavy on the stomach. I also ordered kimchi, lunch salad, cold tofu, and a soup with lots of seaweed. For my drink, I chose orange juice. It has been many years since I last went to Jojoen, so I don't remember the taste accurately, but I think the salad seasoned with sesame flavor is the taste of Jojoen. Even if it's different, I doubt anyone would complain about such a delicious salad. It's a bit disappointing that the rice refill is not free, but additional items including various meat dishes can be added as side menu options. Great cost performance, very satisfying. Next time, I might order the "Wagyu Yakiniku Lunch" for a little luxury.

I decided to have lunch in Ikebukuro after a long time, so I searched for a restaurant the day before. I found out that there is a reasonably priced branch of Yakiniku restaurant called Jojoen, so I decided to have their lunch set! There are only 2 branches in Ikebukuro.
[Food]
Cut Kalbi Lunch Set: 1,540 yen
Includes Jojoen salad, kimchi, soup, drink, and rice
[Note]
You can enjoy Jojoen salad and kimchi for just around 1,000 yen. You can also add salad for 250 yen.
The kalbi is not exactly cut, but it is delicious. It has a bit more fat, but when grilled, it brings out a sweet flavor.
I skipped the rice and ordered additional meat (starting from 600 yen). I will definitely go back again!
