I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend who loves to explore different foods. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Kuramae Station, in a quiet residential area rather than on a main street. This is a Japanese restaurant that offers fish from Hokkaido, sent from Hakodate. They served sashimi, simmered fish, grilled fish, all made according to our preferences. They also have a wide selection of Japanese sake. It felt like the restaurant was run by someone who truly loves sake. Despite being a Wednesday night, the place was fully booked, and some people couldn't get in. The restaurant only has counter seats, so reservations are a must. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It's within walking distance, so I will definitely come back again.

I went to Teppan Masukura to eat Japanese food before going on a weekend trip overseas. The sashimi platter and assorted rare delicacies I always eat are delicious, but I was happy to see that the appetizer was scallop carpaccio. I also ordered chicken liver and fried white shrimp tempura, which were both delicious, especially the fried white shrimp.

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while, and I was able to make a reservation about 3 days ago. It was my first visit, and the restaurant specialized in Japanese sake with a wide variety from Hokkaido, Tohoku, to Kyushu. The types of sake change with the seasons, and there are no fixed options. I drank a lot and ended up forgetting which was which, but all the sake was very easy to drink! The food was also abundant, with sashimi, conger eel tempura, fried eggplant and tofu, tsukune dumplings, clay pot rice, and more. Every dish was superb and paired well with the sake. It was a place where I truly felt grateful to be Japanese.

It's a nearby place, so I often go there. I always order the assorted sashimi on a platter and when I feel like eating meat, I get some yakitori. Sometimes I also order seasonal tempura, which goes really well with sake. After having about three different types of sake, I feel great. I'll definitely go back again.

Although it may not be the atmosphere for a family visit, my husband and I visited this restaurant that we had been wanting to try. It is a small establishment run by a husband and wife, with only a counter seating. We had tried their takeout sashimi during the pandemic and knew the quality was good, but everything we had in the restaurant was delicious as well. They have a wide variety of sake, all available in 100ml servings for 600 yen, which was great for trying different kinds. The menu is accessed by scanning a QR code and selecting items from their website, so it might be helpful to check it out in advance.

I visited a cozy izakaya with a large noren curtain at the back of the Torikoshi Shrine. It had a traditional yet modern atmosphere, with carefully selected decorations throughout the place. The food also reflected this mix of styles, and I found it perfect for a quiet date night. The clientele seemed to agree, as it was mostly couples. Personally, I enjoy escaping from the ordinary, so I thought it was a nice change of pace. However, my friend Maa-chan felt a bit intimidated by the atmosphere.

At Kuramae, I wanted to go there for a while. We started with a sashimi platter, salad, meat, grilled saury, and a dish of conger eel, shiitake mushrooms, and tempura. Even though it was à la carte, it was so delicious that I ended up ordering a lot... I was so focused on eating that I couldn't take a good picture of the grilled saury, which is regrettable... The non-alcoholic drink made with plum syrup was also delicious! Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since we visited Masukura in front of the station. My wife and I were there. They didn't serve alcohol, so we had the landlady's special plum syrup soda x2 for 650 yen each. The appetizer was simmered striped jack. We ordered the carpaccio (1050 yen - with soy, flounder, octopus, sardine, etc. The fish was delicious), liver (650 yen - the liver here is also delicious, served generously with wasabi and sesame oil), gizzard (650 yen - the chewy gizzards were served with yuzu pepper), cartilage-filled tsukune shumai (850 yen - the shumai was delicious), and fried eggplant and tofu (850 yen - also delicious). The counter was in a horseshoe shape covered with wooden frames and acrylic doors.

Next to Torikoshi Shrine is a shop with delicious Japanese sake. I had been curious about it for a while, but due to the shortened business hours during the state of emergency, I decided to inquire and visit. I wanted to support the local shops. The Japanese sake was delicious, and the food was also tasty. I particularly enjoyed the conger eel tempura. I would like to visit again for a casual walk. The salt-grilled fish collar was made with sea bass. The chicken and rice cooked together was also delicious, and I couldn't resist ordering more Japanese sake.

Second bar in Kuramae for drinks. A great place to shake off the slight haziness from the first bar. It was described as a "izakaya overflowing with the passion of the owner in the food and drinks." And it was exactly that. I visited without prior notice on the weekend and managed to get a seat for a limited time. The rest seemed to be fully booked with reservations (although they mentioned that it doesn't get as crowded on weekdays). - Pumpkin fish flakes on the table. - Assorted appetizers: marinated firefly squid, umeshiso, octopus with wasabi. A generous serving of classic appetizers. This alone could accompany 2-3 drinks easily. - Flounder marinated in kelp. A generous and impressive serving, the arrangement of the kelp-marinated flounder was exceptional. It might have been a bit overwhelming, but it was a delightful experience. The assorted platter also looked impressive. - Saga's small potatoes. Boiled and served hot like kinukatsugi. Served with salt and mayonnaise. The kitchen is managed by the owner alone. The name of the restaurant is "〼 (Masu)" and it seems to mainly focus on Japanese sake. I proceeded to enjoy 4 drinks. Each glass seemed to be around 100ml. - Abe Series' popular junmai sake, known as Black. Sake from Niigata. Crisp and easy to drink. It seemed to be a popular junmai sake at this restaurant. - Hiko Chiku's Tsukikage, Oyama, unfiltered nama genshu, naturally fermented with lactic acid bacteria. Made with the Yumachi rice. Sake from Saga. It was priced slightly higher than regular sake. Mild aroma. Fresh and refreshing taste. The lactic acid contained hints of green apple flavor (when asked what kind of sake it was, they mentioned "green apple," and indeed, I felt that "green apple." However, it is also commented that it can have a "grapefruit-like fruity taste" or a "refreshing lemonade-like nuance"). - Sanzen. Kimura-style miraculous sake, junmai Yumachi. Sake from Kurashiki, Okayama. This falls under the premium category and is sold at this restaurant for its "rich Yumachi flavor and dryness" and "sharpness that stands out." - Ippongi, Denshin, Autumn, junmai nama genshu. Sake from Fukui. It is described as having a "moist richness that spreads from the tip of the tongue and a dynamic strength that tightens the aftertaste." The owner was focused on cooking, so I asked the female staff who seemed to be his wife for recommendations (I read an article mentioning that the wife only works on weekends, but I wonder if it's still the case now. However, it seems a bit challenging for the owner to handle everything alone). If this place were nearby, I would definitely be a regular customer.

I was able to enjoy my meal with peace of mind because proper measures were taken such as temperature checks, disinfection, and acrylic panels. I had always wanted to try this izakaya in Kuramae. The fact that they only have counter seats adds to the charm, and the cute noren curtain in front of the shop always made me excited when passing by. The tuna menchi-katsu was fried crispy and packed with the rich flavor of the fish. It was as delicious as any meat dish. The liver had a juicy texture and no unpleasant smell, making it very tasty. Every dish paired well with alcohol, so I ended up drinking quite a bit haha. I definitely want to go back again.

I found this place through an online search and it was my first visit. I had a bottle of Heartland beer, the sashimi was fresh, and the fried potatoes were delicious. The chicken was decent, but lacked the richness of flavor. They had a good selection of sake as well. The restaurant was clean and stylish. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

The exterior of the restaurant allows you to see inside, where rows of one-liter bottles are displayed in the refrigerator. The owner seems very serious, and this seriousness reflects in the food as well. The sashimi and chicken dishes are delicious, and the selection of alcohol shows a clear policy. It is a really good restaurant, but it could use a bit more fun. If they added some playful dishes or techniques like "try this dish" or "please try this mirin warmed up, hehehe," it has the potential to become a truly exceptional restaurant.

A stylish Japanese restaurant standing in a residential street. It has a U-shaped counter where you can see the open kitchen from outside. The restaurant is run by a beautiful couple, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. They offer a wide variety of fresh seafood mainly from Hokkaido, as well as grilled and fried dishes that are perfect for drinking. Personally, I appreciate how they cook the fish collar after sourcing and preparing it. The prices are reasonable, making it a popular spot to visit. It tends to be crowded during peak hours, so I recommend checking for available seats before visiting!

I went to this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation, and now I find myself going there all the time. They offer new arrivals of Japanese sake at very reasonable prices. It's a paradise for sake lovers. And the food is really delicious! The restaurant is shaped like a 'Co', so you can see all the dishes other customers order, which makes you want to try them too. And once you try them, you won't be disappointed by the deliciousness! My favorite is the liver dish!
