I passed by here and stopped by to look for souvenirs. This shop is located on the street in front of Heian Shrine. This time, I bought the Saganoyaki Sakura Momiji Saga no Yaki, which includes various types of rice crackers. It looks fun and tastes delicious. There are also spring-themed rice crackers inside, which were well-received. I tried one for myself, and it was delicious as always. The Saga no Yaki is a type of rice cracker with a soy sauce flavor and seaweed aroma that is tasty. It's a classic rice cracker that never gets boring.

I purchased the "Ogura Mountain Spring and Autumn Medium Can (8 pieces, 21 bags)" for ¥2,160 from the rice cracker specialty store "Ogura Sanso," which I often rely on for offerings and gifts. These rice crackers are enjoyed by a wide range of people, from children to the elderly. Among them, my favorite is this series that expresses the world of "Ogura Hyakunin Isshu" in 8 types of rice crackers and senbei. Today, I brought them back as a gift and enjoyed them with tea or as a snack with alcohol. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Next is the Hina Matsuri version of Kyoto's rice crackers! You can reserve them for a limited time from March 4th to March 7th. This special product is only available once a year. The package caught my eye with plenty of rice crackers inside. I can't remember the name, so please ask the shop directly. When I was asked if it was "Marutoku," I understood! It seems to be about 1500 yen, which is about 30% off. It's perfect for displaying with the Hina dolls! The cute name and lovely shocking pink ribbon are sure to appeal to women's hearts. Of course, it's all about cherry blossoms - Sakura!

On March 3rd, we celebrate the Doll Festival by lighting lanterns and giving peach blossoms. The Emperor and Empress dolls sit side by side with serene expressions. Soon, it will be Hinamatsuri, as Valentine's Day has passed. At this restaurant, they have beautifully named sweets inspired by the Hyakunin Isshu poetry collection. The packaging is lovely and sure to delight any woman's heart. The designs are especially intricate, with red ribbons matching the peach blossom colors. The gifts include hina-arare, diamond-shaped rice cakes, and peach blossom white sake. Hinamatsuri treats like chirashi sushi, clam soup, and pickled vegetables are also available. I can't wait to see the hinamatsuri arare displayed in the high-tiered sweet dish this year. I wonder how they will arrange them. Time to start preparing for the festivities!

While walking from Heian Shrine towards Keihan Railway's Higashiyama Station along Jingu Michi, I came across a rice cracker shop near Sanjo Street and couldn't help but stop by. There was a large sign in front of the shop saying "Home-use assorted rice crackers sales day." It seemed like today was one of the days when they sell rice crackers about 4 times a month. Lucky me for passing by on this day. Upon entering the shop, I saw rice crackers and Japanese sweets displayed elegantly. The staff was also elegant, polite, and smiling. As expected, the company operates shops in famous department stores, so the level was high. As an introductory purchase, I bought the assorted rice crackers "Kyoto's light flower with shrimp for 432 yen (tax included)." There were 4 other varieties of assorted rice crackers as well. A large bag containing 280g of rice crackers! It seemed like a cost-effective option, skipping individual packaging and selection process to deliver a freshly made taste. When I got home, I tried them right away. The rice crackers had a firm texture but were chewy when bitten. Additionally, they were thick, so combined with the shrimp flavor, they had a light yet deep taste. This is delicious! They are said to have outlets in famous department stores, so everyone should definitely try the assorted rice crackers, including the "Kyoto's light flower."

Living alone, I don't really eat snacks! So, even though these were gifts, please take them! I like people like that (laughs) Oh, it's Okurayama Shunju! Isn't this from Okurayama-so in Kyoto! The senbei here is delicious! For me, it's like a battle between "Harimaya" and "Okurayama-so" in Kansai... like a showdown between two big forces! Or maybe like "Teiup" and "Yano-Heido" in the world of comedy! (I don't really get it!) Harimaya is more for the common people, while Okurayama-so has a bit of elegance that is typical of Kyoto, right? This time, I'm happy that each bag has different flavors to enjoy a little bit of each! Good for tea time, good for drinking snacks, of course, thank you~♪ I'll gladly take them anytime~♪ (bitter smile)

I received some Kyoto senbei from my senior colleague, and I'm grateful for it! I took a photo in the break room and enjoyed it in Osaka. I had the Meigetsu senbei, which comes in a beautiful box with salad, wasanbon sugar, and shrimp flavors (5 pieces each) for 525 yen (tax included). It's made with famous wasanbon sugar, giving it a gentle sweet and savory taste. The senbei has a soft texture with a hint of saltiness and elegant sweetness from the wasanbon sugar. It's a delicious snack that makes you want more. Great for souvenirs too!

I thought it was a souvenir from a ryokan in Kyoto, but it turned out to be a specialty store for rice crackers and senbei called "Koyotei." I received a set of 10 different small senbei for playing karuta. I tried flavors like salad, salt, sugar, purple sweet potato, and chestnut. The purple sweet potato flavor was the best. The rest were okay, with familiar tastes. Koyotei offers a wide variety of senbei, so I would like to try more in the future. Thank you for the meal.

When buying the Ogurayama villa in Kyoto city, I recommend visiting here. There is parking available for convenience. It makes a good souvenir. The taste is good, the packaging is beautiful, and there is a good amount. "Ogura Mountain Shunju" contains eight bite-sized rice crackers with a variety of flavors. The taste has a good balance, and you can enjoy different types. "Saga no Yaki" is the ultimate combination of sweet soy sauce and seaweed. "Danran" is a popular assortment of products. They are sold in a large can with about 30 bags inside. It's a popular choice for gifts. Each bag contains a variety of rice crackers, so you won't get tired of eating them. I especially like the sesame leaf-shaped rice crackers. The sesame flavor is rich and the intricate design adds a touch of luxury. I often find myself eating 2 or 3 bags in one go.

Received a gift at work, it's a product from a company in Shiga Prefecture. It's a set of 8 different types of rice crackers, individually packed. The flavors include shrimp rice crackers, black sesame rice crackers, salad senbei, sweet soy sauce senbei, Tamba black soybean arare, seaweed senbei, zaramé arare, and sea soy sauce arare. My favorite is the one that combines the flavors of zaramé and soy sauce. After finishing all the crackers, I found a waka poem from the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu written on the container. The product is called "Ogura-san Shunju." It makes me feel like wearing a kimono and reciting poetry. It was a delicious treat.
