As I have aged, I have gradually reduced my visits to restaurants in the city center, and then the pandemic hit. Since 2020, I have not been able to visit any delicious restaurants in the city center. Finally, this year, I have started to revisit these places. My wife and I visited Tenma for the first time in a long while. It had been since May 2017 for me and the first half of 2016 for my wife since our last visit. We opted for the top course. Despite the long absence, we were treated to the same wonderful cuisine and hospitality. The soup had a refined and mellow taste, the sashimi disguised as yellowtail radish was exquisite, the assorted appetizers were full of various flavors and creative touches, and the tempura, which had been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants, truly showcased the ingredients. The tempura of the large goby fish, in particular, was exceptional. We enjoyed these dishes with a selection of wonderful Japanese sake, creating a blissful moment. The budget had indeed increased compared to before, but the quality matched it. I was reminded once again of the excellence of restaurants in the city center. Despite not being able to visit for many years, we have received New Year's cards from the couple who own Tenma every year. I was happy to finally be able to revisit. This time, I hardly took any photos and focused on enjoying the food. I think I will continue to do so in the future. For specific details, I recommend looking at photos from other reviewers. I look forward to the next time I can visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Kaiseki & Tempura feast is like a paradise for me, I would love to revisit this world of delights (lol). The Tempura course costs 18,150 yen and includes: - Appetizer: Shrimp marinated in kelp soy sauce with sour cream. The shrimp was delicious and sweet, while the sour cream added a nice touch. - Soup: Snapper with bamboo shoots and rapeseed blossoms. The broth was flavorful and the fish was good, although a bit dry. - Sashimi: Flounder with ankimo and yuzu pepper. The sauce was a bit risky but surprisingly tasty, and the flounder was excellent. - Appetizer plate: Various dishes including shrimp, clams, octopus, scallops, and more. Each dish was simple but delicious. - Tempura: Prawn, smelt, whitefish, sablefish, butterbur shoots, taro sprouts, and mushrooms. All the tempura items were tasty, especially the whitefish and sablefish. - Intermezzo: Sesame tofu, a unique and light dish. - Main course: Tempura with rice, red miso soup, and pickles. The tempura was crispy and flavorful, especially the shrimp and scallops. - Dessert: Strawberry dessert with jelly, yogurt wine, jam, and white wine foam. A delightful surprise. The service was excellent, with a kind host and attentive staff. The atmosphere was elegant and clean, creating a calm and mature ambiance. While the value may not be exceptional, the overall experience was worth it. I highly recommend the tempura and the overall dining experience at this restaurant.

This tempura restaurant offers more than just delicious tempura. The chef creates monthly menus that perfectly match the season. The hostess's pairing choices are excellent. Even the often overlooked dessert is carefully thought out, making every visit a happy experience.

Located in a narrow alley in Naka-Meguro, this restaurant has a stylish and calm atmosphere. The staff welcomed us warmly and the service was excellent. The food was amazing, impressing even my colleagues who were with me. For the finale, I chose the "Tenchazuke" option, which was incredibly delicious. The wasabi and seaweed complemented the crispy tempura perfectly. I would definitely love to visit this place again.

I visited a restaurant called "Hyakumeiten". I made a reservation for one person for the Ten Ga Kaiseki course. The course consisted of a soup, sashimi, appetizers, tempura, palate cleanser, main dish, and dessert. I ordered 2 beers and sake, and the total came to around 20,820 yen. The food, including the tempura, was delicious. However, there was a long wait for the tempura, about an hour, which made me impatient. I ended up spending 2 and a half hours in the restaurant, which felt too long for me. The best part was the rice, which was incredibly tasty. The restaurant is located a few minutes from the station, in the basement of a building. The interior had a stylish atmosphere with about 10 counter seats and 3 tables. The black stone counter felt cold and not very inviting. There was also an ashtray outside the restaurant.

The atmosphere, presentation, and taste were all meticulously done. There is a wide variety of alcohol to choose from, ranging from regular to high-quality options. I was impressed by the kaiseki aspect of the tempura, even though it's just tempura. The tempura itself was exquisite, with a delicate coating. The prices were on the higher side, but well worth it, so I gave it a 4.0 rating. It's a great place to enjoy the seasonal flavors!

I wasn't particularly good at tempura, but I decided to try it out at this kaiseki restaurant. The interior of the restaurant had a luxurious and chic atmosphere, and the beautiful flowers displayed throughout added to the elegance. The sashimi before the tempura was not only visually appealing but also showed the meticulous work put into each dish. The main tempura dish had a light, crispy batter that perfectly protected the ingredients from the hot oil and enhanced their natural flavors. Each piece of tempura was delicious in its own right. The gentle broth that seemed to seep into your body and the heavenly tempura tea were to my liking, making me want to eat them every day. The dessert was also meticulously prepared, keeping me engaged until the very end. I am not good at writing, so I usually express my thoughts with hearts in reviews, but I tried to write a longer review this time because I wanted to convey my feelings. I was so engrossed in the food that I didn't take many photos. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I hope to visit again when the season changes. Thank you for today.

There is a tempura restaurant in Nakameguro. Not only the tempura, but all the other dishes were also delicious. The grated green asparagus in the hassun was especially tasty. Personally, I like the tempura in spring and autumn the most, so I am thinking of visiting again in the fall.

I was able to visit the same place during cherry blossom season after about a year. It has become a tradition for me to enjoy the cherry blossoms along the Meguro River after having a meal. I couldn't remember the details of the course since it had been a while, but the food was still delicious as always. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm, with many polite customers, so it's highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a meal while having a leisurely conversation. Sake and tempura go really well together, and I especially love tempura with a crispy coating that is not too heavy. I would like to visit again during cherry blossom season.

I visited the tempura restaurant "Tenga" in 2022, which is ranked 33 out of 100 in the Tempura Top 100 list. Located in Naka-Meguro, a bit of a walk from the station, the restaurant is situated in a residential area in an underground space. The interior features counter seats and private rooms, and it is a popular spot in Naka-Meguro known for its exquisite tempura and Japanese cuisine. The "Tenga Kaiseki" course offers a variety of seasonal delicacies, and the restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star. The chef, Masahiko Ashiki, offers three course options including appetizers, soup, sashimi, tempura, and dessert. The tempura, freshly fried after the high-quality Japanese meal, showcases spring ingredients and is delicious. Overall, it is a great restaurant to enjoy both Japanese cuisine and tempura.

The interior of the restaurant is elegant and luxurious with a black color scheme. The atmosphere is great and very comfortable. They offer various dishes like appetizers and soup. It's nice to have a variety, but I can't wait to eat the tempura. The tempura is delicious and they have a great selection of drinks. IL Teatrino Da Salone is a wonderful place.

Continuously awarded with one Michelin star for several years. Located just a few minutes from Naka-Meguro Station, this restaurant has a stylish interior. Their tempura appetizers are delicious, including ankimo, crab, madai sashimi, seared shirako, namako ponzu, sumi ika, and oysters. Their assorted tempura includes shrimp, hirame, oysters, sawara, negi, and shiitake. They also serve sesame tofu and kakiage tendon with toppings such as shrimp, conger eel, oysters, and shiitake.

Nakameguro is about a 5-minute walk from the station. Every year around late November, I visit the tempura kaiseki restaurant "TEN-MASA" which has been open for 10 years this fall. They have recently received a Michelin star for the second year in a row, and have also been selected as one of the top 100 tempura restaurants. Congratulations! The entrance to the restaurant, located downstairs, has a chic design with black as the main color. Upon entering, you are greeted by a stunning semi-circular counter, which is truly luxurious. Although this is my third visit, I still feel excited every time. While they also offer table seating and private rooms, I highly recommend sitting at the counter to enjoy the live tempura cooking. The "TEN-MASA Kaiseki" allows you to savor both tempura and Japanese cuisine. This time, I reserved the "Irodori" course, which includes: - Scallop, white vegetables, salmon roe, and shiitake mushroom appetizer - Cherry shrimp, grilled shiitake mushroom, spinach, and paprika soup - Two kinds of sashimi: tuna, bonito, seared mackerel, persimmon, and sesame soy sauce - Eight small dishes: oyster, spinach, carrot, chrysanthemum, ginkgo nut, shimeji mushroom, lotus root, and more - Tempura: shrimp, smelt fish, oyster, conger eel, ginkgo nut, shimeji mushroom, and lotus root (refillable) - Silky sweet, scallop, and chopstick rest - Sesame tofu and rice - Tempura bowl with shrimp tempura and rice - Dessert: autumn leaves The variety of dishes leading up to the main tempura course is quite extensive, showcasing the colors of the four seasons, and changes monthly. The presentation of each dish is truly impressive. The tempura is delicious, with just the right amount of batter to complement the ingredients. The chef explains each dish with care and detail. For the finale, you can choose between tempura bowl, tempura tea pickles, or white rice. Despite feeling full by this point, I couldn't resist the tempura bowl. I paired the meal with sake, as it complements the tempura perfectly: - Kido Junmai Ginjo (Wakayama) - Daishinshu Junmai Ginjo (Nagano) - Shusseijo Junmai Daiginjo (Shizuoka) The delicious food, beautiful presentation, warm hospitality from the chef and hostess, and the ambiance of the restaurant all contribute to a unique and high-quality dining experience. It's a time of utmost enjoyment with top-notch food and service. I visit every year around this time, but I already want to come back in a different season. Leaving the restaurant fully satisfied in body and mind. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Thank you for viewing. I visited "Tenga," a tempura restaurant that is a recipient of the Michelin one-star award and part of the top 100 tempura restaurants. It was their 10th anniversary last month, so congratulations to them. The restaurant is located in a stylish designer's mansion called Cube M, about a 4-5 minute walk from Naka-Meguro station. Upon entering, you descend a staircase with the scent of incense and open the restaurant's private door. Inside, there is a beautiful flower arrangement. The interior features a luxurious semi-circular counter with 10 seats, two table seats, and a private room. The decor is black-themed, more Western than traditional Japanese. The service provided by the owner and the hostess was very polite and welcoming, making the experience comfortable. The food includes traditional Japanese dishes like soup and sashimi before moving on to tempura. The tempura batter is crispy on the outside and slightly rare inside. Particularly memorable dishes included the fatty saury from Mie, crunchy lotus root, and juicy thick mushrooms. The menu for the day included a variety of dishes such as octopus, grilled eggplant, salmon roe, black soybeans, and more. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to revisiting in the future. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

A top-notch tempura restaurant overflowing with hospitality!! [Time of visit] Dinner [Number of people] Two [Ordered] Middle course [Price] 20,000 yen~ *At the time of visit___________________________The staff, head chef, everyone creates a wonderful atmosphere with excellent hospitality. The tempura has a crispy coating (is it fried in oil?) that is surprisingly light, with a tender and fluffy interior. Even after eating so much fried food, it doesn't feel heavy, but you can still taste the best part of fried food - the richness and crispy texture. This is my personal opinion! I would love to visit again.___________________________[Cost performance] ★★* It's great to feel this satisfied at this price!

I went for the highest level of hospitality in a private room. While it's fun to eat while chatting at the counter, honestly, it can be unpleasant because of the various customers. In that regard, the private room is reassuring. I enjoyed a course meal and tried various types of Japanese sake.

This is a tempura kaiseki restaurant. It's a hidden gem that I visit regularly, located just behind the yakiniku Futago. They offer three courses, and I always choose the most expensive one, which fills me up. The courses are delicate, visually stunning, and delicious. They have won one Michelin star, and the hostess and the interior of the restaurant are both lovely. The couple who run the restaurant are from Higashi-Mikawa, so they use ingredients from their hometown throughout the menu. From the rice dish to the dessert, Tenmaga is a restaurant that will truly delight you.

In Nakameguro, a neighborhood known for its delicious restaurants, there is also a renowned tempura restaurant. Located an 8-minute walk from Nakameguro Station in a calm residential area. We decided to order the cheapest course at 16,500 yen because we wanted to eat more tempura than appetizers and requested additional items. The meal included a salad with clams, water shield, green asparagus, green peas, and micro tomatoes, a soup with cherry shrimp, mushroom petals, and young corn, as well as various tempura items like flounder, red and green seaweed, udo, and green seaweed. The chef, who also trained in traditional Japanese cuisine, showcased his skills not only in tempura but also in other dishes. The tempura had a crispy and light batter, which was quite enjoyable. While the ingredients were average, the delicious batter demonstrated the chef's expertise.

Customer service at this shop is also wonderful. I came across a very nice shop that I definitely want to recommend to others after a long time! At first, I was looking forward to tempura, so when I looked at the menu, I thought there was a low ratio of tempura. However, everything was delicious, and the appearance was also lovely, making it a fun time while feeling the season. The menu seems to change monthly, so it's a bit pricey, but I want to go every month. The top recommendation is definitely tempura! I chose the course because I wanted to eat sea urchin tempura, and everything was delicious. I also ordered sweet potato as an extra, which was the right choice. If you have room in your stomach, definitely try it. Also, the grated daikon radish was so finely grated that I couldn't help but ask how it was made. The answer was... a food processor, haha. I was completely satisfied with the appearance and taste of the dessert at the end. There is also plenty of alcohol. I drank 6 types of sake in half servings each, and my companion drank the same amount of highballs, totaling over 60,000 yen for the two of us. It's definitely not something I can afford to do regularly, but I definitely want to visit again.
