- Avoiding the ultraviolet rays in the city warfare, on the way back after encountering "Kyuba Bridge River Alliance", next to it is a Japanese restaurant "Takao", which has a disappearing traditional Japanese restaurant feel. Despite feeling like they had control over everything near the base, there are still unidentified lunch spots out there. The feeling of nostalgia for the old Showa-style Japanese restaurants that have recently become scarce... Remembering and feeling revitalized, it was a day filled with energy = Southward deployment to avoid the sunlight from the south, choosing the east-west route for sun exposure. Here we are. "Tenpura and Skewered Takao" with "Takao Shokusai-ya Honpo" written below the store name. I have no idea what that means... Lunch menu: - Tenpura set meal A - Ten don - Large special shrimp don 1100 - Ten don - Anago don 1100 - Shrimp and anago don 1100 - Upper tenpura set meal 1400 - Grilled fish and tenpura 1450 Other set meals - Seasonal grilled fish set meal 1100 - Menchi katsu set meal 1100 - Crab cream croquette 1000 - Mix set meal 1000 All lunch items come with free rice and miso soup refills. The "Megaphone Salaryman" feels like you can be full with just one bill. "Upper Tenpura Set Meal" and "Mixed Fry Set Meal" come with ten-tsuyu sauce for the tenpura. Some restaurants have started skipping this. The sauce comes with plenty of grated daikon radish. There was a mention of "large shrimp", but in these times, it's better not to take it at face value. The shrimp in the tenpura is of a decent size. I love shrimp tenpura, but if they are too small, it feels a bit lonely, doesn't it? People who eat less seem to prefer the lower part these days. They eat the tail part. They seem to be considerate of the payers, but they insist on eating the tail part. I'll gladly eat the vegetables if there are leftovers, that's my style. The rice here is the usual white rice, but my partner doesn't eat it at all. So, it's automatically rice for me. Even though the rice is free for refills, I can't have more than 1.5 servings if there isn't enough side dishes. The fish didn't leave much of an impression, it was just average. The person who eats less gave some feedback... - Cream Croquette: It's so smooth and creamy, hot and crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. When you pick it up with chopsticks and take a bite, the cream inside melts and it's delicious. It goes well with rice. - Menchi Katsu: It's easy to eat with lots of onions and a slightly sweet flavor. You can't really taste the meat, but it's easy to eat with two large pieces. - Tenpura: The shrimp had too much batter, so the taste of the shrimp was lost. The squid was tender, the horse mackerel was large and fluffy, and the eggplant, green pepper, and pumpkin were delicious. The daikon radish in the dessert glass was served separately. The glass was well-chilled, showing attention to detail. - Miso Soup: It was slightly less salty and easy to drink. You could taste the miso, and there were some tofu and seaweed. - Tea: When they brought it, they kept emphasizing how hot it was. I finally understood why - it was so hot that you couldn't hold the tea cup with your bare hands. The lady who brought it was amazing. - Rice: It wasn't too soft, which was nice. I ordered a small portion, but it was still quite a lot. The service was good. This was my first visit to the restaurant, and it was a safe entry into the unknown. For me, the highlight was being able to enjoy both tempura and fry at the same time. Thank you for the meal.
