New Year's Day, let's go somewhere. As a solo diner in Tsukiji, I can go anywhere anytime. I had no special plans, so this was a chance! I decided to go on a Tsukiji tour. Why does just going to Tsukiji make me so excited!? Tsukiji is all about seafood, tuna, and Sushizanmai!! However, I'm not interested in Black Pork. Actually, I can't afford it, it's a super high-end restaurant. I aimed for the fancy restaurants I had been eyeing for a while! Surprisingly, when you look, there are various options. On the way back after fully enjoying Tsukiji, I found 'Wada Hisa Main Store.' I was drawn in by the freshly grated wasabi of the day. Oh, this is bad! It's irresistible!! As soon as I got home, I buried my face in it and inhaled deeply. What a wonderful scent!! However, from an outsider's perspective, it looks like a legal, genuine Japanese-style thinner. I'm grateful to have been born in Japan. By the way, there was a famous quote in the past, "I'm glad to have been born on this Earth!" I truly hope that everyone in the world can feel the same way about this planet. Let's make this year a world of peace and happiness.

While strolling around Tsukiji and walking towards Yurakucho, I came across a sign that read "Dashi Pudding - Specializing in Chawanmushi." Chawanmushi? No, wait, pudding?! I couldn't resist and decided to buy a souvenir of "Dashi Pudding" for 200 yen. They provided a cooling pack, but due to the long travel time, by the time I got home and tried to eat it, it had turned into a sad soup. So, I'll have to wait for a cooler season to have a proper taste of "Dashi Pudding." The flavor was delicious with a strong dashi taste, so I'll rate it properly when I can eat it in its pudding form.

There was a shop near Tsukiji Honganji Temple that specialized in dashi stock ingredients such as bonito flakes, tuna flakes, and dried baby sardines. Although the products were not displayed yet, I noticed a sign for "dashi pudding" outside the shop. When I asked the staff, they explained that there were three types available: plain with yuzu for 200 yen, with dried baby sardines for 350 yen, and with clams for 350 yen. They mentioned that these puddings were made without any additives and should be consumed on the same day as they are made. I paid in advance and returned later to pick up the items. I purchased one each of the dried baby sardine & edamame and clam & asparagus flavors for 350 yen each. The puddings were served cold and came in egg-shaped capsules, looking cute. The texture was like a gelatin, with toppings on top and a yellow egg-based pudding with a dashi flavor at the bottom. Although the product was called "dashi pudding," it seemed more like chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard). Later, I realized from the receipt that it was actually chawanmushi x2. It was delicious, but I should have checked the products more carefully before purchasing. It was a tasty chawanmushi experience! (laughs)

Outside Tsukiji Market, I went on a food tour and stumbled upon something unfamiliar. "Dashi Pudding" - I wondered what it could be. I took a taste and thought, "Is this Chawanmushi?" But no, it's definitely "Dashi Pudding" (laughs). I decided to buy some as a souvenir. The 200 yen plain Dashi Pudding with a hint of yuzu on top was delicious. The 350 yen one had shrimp and okra on top, resembling a tasty Chawanmushi! When getting it to go, they included a cold pack and put it in a cute transparent case. It would make a great gift for older individuals. Eating it as pudding might be surprising at first, but it's actually very tasty. This shop originally sells bonito flakes and other items in Tsukiji Market. Personally, I preferred the 350 yen one. Thank you for the meal!

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop located at the intersection of Shin-Ohashi Street and Harumi Street (near the Tsukiji 4-chome intersection). I noticed some wagashi in the showcase outside the shop and decided to buy a tiger-patterned dorayaki called "tora-yaki" for 150 yen. The dorayaki had a nice flavor to the dough, although it was slightly dry. The filling was white bean paste with a pleasant texture and a delicious nutty flavor. It wasn't too sweet, making it easy to enjoy.

On regular days, there is a sweets shop located on the first floor of a building at the corner of Tsukiji 4-chome intersection, facing Harumi Street. It is next to Tsukidoudo. They sell soft serve ice cream and ice cream inside a small fish-shaped cake called "Tsumetai Monaka," which is pronounced as "Tsumetai Monaka." The menu includes Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream for 250 yen, Roasted Tea Soft Serve Ice Cream for 250 yen, Shigetake Dango's Country Mochi-filled Rich Matcha Ice Cream Monaka for 150 yen, Roasted Hojicha Ice Cream Monaka for 150 yen, and Roasted Hojicha Ice Cream Monaka for 150 yen. The small Monaka has roasted hojicha flavored ice cream inside a small fish-shaped cake. When taken out of the freezer, it is quite hard, probably because it is not ice cream but rather hojicha soft serve ice cream placed inside the Monaka and frozen. The shape of the ice cream was also wavy.

This store is located on the 1st floor of the Kyoei-kai Building outside Tsukiji Market. Their main business is selling tea and bonito flakes, but they also sell Mo-suke's Japanese sweets, and Takedawaka, a sushi restaurant, produces tuna mince cutlet sandwiches and soft serve ice cream. I have always liked their soft serve ice cream in the summer when exploring Tsukiji. The soft serve ice cream comes in two flavors, matcha and roasted green tea, each priced at 250 yen. Today, I purchased the roasted green tea soft serve ice cream for 250 yen. I ate it on the wooden bench in front of the store. When I tasted it, the roasted green tea flavor and milk created a nice taste, and the sweetness replenished my tired body from walking around. It's a recommended treat when you're tired from exploring Tsukiji. Store registered store, first post store.
