[About the restaurant]
It seems to be the second branch of the popular yakiniku restaurant "Daiju" in Otsuka. When I made a reservation, it was difficult to get a booking, and it still seems somewhat challenging, so it's best to make an online reservation on Tabelog as early as possible. However, there is another new restaurant just a few steps away from here that seems easier to reserve. The meat is said to be the same at both places. It's a bit of a walk from the station. They also operate late at night.
[Interior of the restaurant]
There are 10 tables. It's not a very large restaurant. The spacing between tables is normal. The staff are attentive, and the service is good, with detailed explanations of how to grill the meat and the dipping sauces. It's not a sloppy offal restaurant.
[Meal content]
I had a bottle of special raw makgeolli, tomato sour, and the following:
- Special raw tongue with salt
- Raw tongue with salt
- Daily lean meat: Sendai beef uchimomo with salt
- Upper harami with salt
- Heart sashimi
- Kimju salad
- Salted offal
- Upper liver with salt
- Upper mino with salt
[Impressions of the meal]
The overall taste is on the salty side. The quality of the meat is very good and delicious. The signature dish of the restaurant is the raw tongue with salt. It has a good flavor, umami, and a nice crunchy texture. It's smooth on the palate. The special selection has even more fat, making it juicy and delicious, but the regular raw tongue with salt is sufficient as a snack. It's nice to have plum sauce as a dipping option. The daily lean meat, Sendai beef uchimomo, is considered a premium lean cut, and it's not something you can easily find, so I ordered it without hesitation. It's lightly seared and grilled. It may look fatty, but it melts in your mouth without being too rich. The meat has a good flavor and surprisingly meaty. It has a different kind of goodness compared to the usual sirloin. The upper harami also has a nice marbling. It's juicy and consistently delicious. The difference with the special harami seems to be only in thickness. On the other hand, the offal dishes don't have any notable points compared to the other meats. They are simply delicious. The offal comes in various seasonings, but the offal itself is the same. The mino had a nice hidden knife work. Although the restaurant's name includes offal, I personally think that the premium cuts like tongue with salt and harami were more delicious. It's worth coming here to try them.
