Recommended person & timing ⇒ ① Kyushu cuisine that is delicious no matter what you choose and is significantly cheaper than the market price ② Open late into the night ③ When you don't mind the noise! I have been living in Asakusabashi for 3 months. There are very few eateries open late around here, so it's really convenient that this place is open until midnight and will let you in even if you're dining alone past 11 pm (depending on the day). It's a warm day for winter, and I'm craving ramen. After checking out the menus of the local izakayas, the "Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen for ¥480" caught my eye, so I decided to visit before 10 pm on a Friday. This is my second visit. It's always bustling, and this time, the noise from the kitchen and the floor is so loud that it's hard to ignore (laughs). There are no walls or soundproofing on the one-floor layout, so it can be a bit overwhelming (laughs). It's tough to get the attention of the staff with all the hustle and bustle. The alcohol comes pretty quickly once you order. The complimentary kombu cabbage is a common item, and personally, I'm not a fan of cabbage as a starter (I don't need it), but it's a good snack to go with your drink and is part of the ALL180 speedy menu that may take a while to be served, making it perfect for your first drink companion (laughs). Also, you can smoke here, so you can kill time. Finally, the eggplant with ponzu sauce arrives, and I devour it. I had it last time, but it's really delicious. It disappears in no time. It's a ¥180 menu item. Then, after a while, the tonkotsu ramen arrives. I was expecting a mini size due to the ¥480 price, but it's a regular portion (laughs). I wasn't expecting much in terms of taste, but it's incredibly delicious. It's at this point that I learn that this place is a "Kyushu sake bar" (laughs). Even though I wasn't very hungry, I finished it all in one go. Rather than eating a large bowl of ramen for ¥900 at a ramen shop, isn't it better to have this kind of gentle and sweet Kyushu-style ramen at this price? I have to emphasize that I have never been to Kyushu, so I can't compare it to the authentic taste. Despite the fact that the kitchen's clattering and the loud conversations of the group customers on the floor somehow pierce my ears (laughs), even if that costs them a star, I still want to come back and recommend this place to people in the area. The ramen is really delicious, so drink it all before it gets cold.
