Order: Chilled Tomato 198 yen, Hakata Tofu Caesar Salad 528 yen, Horse Sashimi 748 yen, Various Grilled Chicken Skewers, Lotus Root Stuffed and Deep-Fried 418 yen, Highball with 60-minute All-You-Can-Drink 550 yen Food and Drink Evaluation: Chilled Tomato: Decent tomato for the price. Hakata Tofu Caesar Salad: Dressing tasted like store-bought Caesar dressing, tofu had a texture similar to filled tofu from the supermarket, not a good match with the dressing. Greens didn't seem very fresh. Horse Sashimi: Some parts were a bit sinewy, but acceptable for the price. Various Grilled Chicken Skewers: Tsukune and meat-wrapped peppers were good. Negima had small pieces of meat, but understandable considering the price. Lotus Root Stuffed and Deep-Fried: Batter was slightly sweet, not to my liking. Highball: A bit weak, but 550 yen for 60 minutes of all-you-can-drink is cheap. Ambiance and Service Evaluation: Typical casual izakaya decor, not bad. Smoking allowed in the restaurant. Recently, more people are using electronic cigarettes, but there are still traditional cigarette smokers, so the smell of smoke was quite strong. Service was average. Revisit: Prices are cheap, but the food is decent. Considering the strong tobacco smell, I might revisit if they implement smoking areas or a smoking room.

When I go to Kuramae to Asakusabashi, I always use this restaurant 100% when I want to go to an izakaya. Probably my 7th or 8th time using it (^o^) On this day, even after eating and drinking to my heart's content, it only cost me 2600 yen for one person! Plus, the terrace seats are so nice! Highballs are a steal at 500 yen for 60 minutes! The gyoza is authentic and tastes amazing with yuzu pepper. I tried the motsunabe for the first time this time, and it was surprisingly good for less than 1000 yen per person, with the motsu being chewy and delicious. The motsunabe with mentaiko on the terrace was the best. I think I had a dessert too, but I was too drunk to remember. And when I checked this restaurant's page on Tabelog for the first time, I was shocked to see there was a coupon available! I will definitely use the coupon next time (; ;) By the way, I was dressed up for a festival on this day.♪

I use it for the second party of drinking parties on weekdays, and it's quite crowded on Fridays. Personally, I don't drink alcohol much, so I don't really like izakayas in general, but I especially don't like this kind of place. First of all, it's too noisy. I can't hear the voices of people at the same table. And it smells like cigarettes. I wonder if there are still places that are not even smoke-free. The toilet is extremely dirty. I'll refrain from describing it in detail as it may be unpleasant for readers, but there is no space to even step in. The order we placed didn't go through. It's too noisy and the staff can't hear, but they don't come close (don't make an effort to hear), they just stand there gesturing that they can't hear. The concept is super cheap, with drinks and food starting from the 200 yen range. I appreciate the cheap prices, but the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service are all bottom-tier. I would never choose this place unless it was for work. The gyoza had a picture of a hot plate on the menu with 290 yen written on it, so I thought it was cheap, but it was written in small letters "1 serving 6 pieces", so the hot plate provided was for 3 servings (refer to the photo). I ordered 3 servings, but it didn't seem to be enough. I was told that this was for 3 servings. The taste is average. Definitely frozen food. Quite small in one bite. It doesn't come close to the cost performance of Gyoza no Ohsho. The potato is a mountain for 380 yen. In terms of volume, it's quite a lot. About twice the size of a large McDonald's fries. However, it's not tasty, it's too greasy and too hard because it's fried too much. It's a place for location costs, not a place to go for food and drinks. However, I think it's impressive that they can survive in Tokyo with this pricing.

Maruichi Sakaba's iron pot gyoza is bite-sized and easy to eat, delicious, and affordable. The crust is crispy and filled with vegetables. It's a rich gyoza that goes well with highballs. You can enjoy it lightly with yuzu pepper. Maruichi Sakaba offers a variety of dishes such as iron pot dumplings for 290 yen, rolled omelette for 380 yen, chicken skin skewers for 150 yen, and mega highball for 590 yen. The iron pot dumplings are bite-sized and easy to eat, delicious, and affordable. The dough is crispy and filled with vegetables. Despite being rich, they go well with highball. You can enjoy them lightly with yuzu pepper. I visited an izakaya in the Asakusabashi Higashiguchi area at night, which is a densely packed area of izakayas. It seems to be a chain restaurant inspired by Hakata, with some people comparing it to the Hakata Gekijo chain. In conclusion, the small dishes and snacks were delicious, including Hakata items like motsunabe and skewers. The bite-sized gyoza was also a good snack. When it comes to gyoza, I prefer them big, but I can appreciate these smaller ones. Also, the chopped cabbage with that tangy sauce, like a ponzu vinegar, was great. In the past, it used to have too much acidity and felt lacking, but as I've gotten older, I've come to enjoy the refreshing acidity. The Asakusabashi area seemed surprisingly lively, with many shops open late.

Asakusabashi Station East Exit, next to Tokyo MEAT Sakaba, a narrow alleyway opened Maruichi Sakaba in March 2021. Passing by around 22:00 in a tipsy (okay, drunk) mood, I found a lively izakaya offering iron pot gyoza for 290 yen, chu-hai for 280 yen, and highball for 500 yen all-you-can-drink. "Wow, this is cheap!" I thought, so I decided to have one last drink there. Despite the separate cover charge and tax, I knew this was a common practice at this type of izakaya. I ordered a highball (290 yen + tax) and iron pot gyoza (290 yen + tax), but was told that the gyoza was meant for two people. "Oh, really?" I exclaimed. It wasn't written on the sign outside, but it was in small print on the menu. "Well, in that case, I'll have two orders!" I also asked for a highball with a square ice cube. The cover charge (280 yen + tax) was salted cabbage with salted kombu. The iron pot gyoza came in a round pot with 12 winged gyoza. It was delicious. After a crispy bite and a few sips, the bill came to 1,265 yen. It ended up crossing the 1,000 yen mark. If I had known, I should have opted for the highball all-you-can-drink for 500 yen and had a few more refills.

I was drawn in by the all-you-can-drink highball for 500 yen for 1 hour late at night. I started off with a bottle of beer for 550 yen to quench my thirst. However, when I tried to order the all-you-can-drink highball, I was told they don't offer it after 10:30 pm, even though it wasn't written anywhere. Feeling a bit disappointed, I ended up ordering a mega highball for 590 yen, which felt a bit overpriced considering it's mostly ice. Even though I quickly finished three glasses of the mega highball, overall, the restaurant was reasonably priced. The fried chicken for 380 yen was a good deal with six large pieces, but the taste was just average. Next time, I might try the iron pot dumplings for 290 yen.

I searched for a shop in Asakusabashi and entered. The shop was almost full, perhaps because there were few other shops open at this time, and there were many customers waiting. Although the shop claimed to serve Fukuoka Hakata cuisine, the dishes that came out were a bit different from what I had imagined. I understand the iron pot dumplings, but was sesame mackerel supposed to be like this? Haha, it doesn't matter because it was delicious. The shop is relatively reasonable, so as long as you can experience that aspect of the cuisine, it's good. Thank you for the meal.

This is a casual izakaya. I came here to drink. First, I'll have the Black Hoppy set for 450 yen, which comes with a shochu for 180 yen. A cabbage appetizer with salted kelp topping was served. Since it was listed as a Hakata specialty, I also ordered vinegar motsu for 280 yen and iron pot gyoza for 290 yen for two people. The vinegar motsu had plenty of green onions on top of the motsu, with yuzu pepper as a topping. It makes for a nice snack. The iron pot gyoza were bite-sized and came with yuzu pepper on the side. The skin was crispy and filled with vegetables. It was easy to eat with the yuzu pepper. It was a reasonably priced restaurant to enjoy some food.

I stopped by a new shop near Asakusabashi Station. Since the shop is new, the interior is clean and bright. The menu showed that both alcohol and snacks were very cheap. They even had a Mega Jug, so I ordered a Mega Highball and a few snacks to cheers. The quick menu snacks were surprisingly priced at 180 yen and tasted delicious. Please note that smoking is allowed, so if you are sensitive to smoke, be cautious. For those who like to smoke while drinking, this is a rare and appreciated place.

Stayed at a lodging near Asakusabashi Station on the Sobu Line. Visited a restaurant where a few shops were open the night before. Managed to get a table outside. Felt like being at a beer garden. Started with the usual salted cabbage with dried seaweed. Had it refilled three times. The highlight was the ridiculously large portion of potatoes for 380 yen. It was truly a huge serving, enough to fill up a family of three. Also had yakitori, karaage, and gyoza. Had a few drinks and the total bill was just under 5,000 yen, cash only. When paying, I noticed the simple interior design and thought, "They're not spending much on decor." In a way, it's refreshing! I would love to visit again for some potato and drinks if it were closer. Thank you for the meal!

Today's meeting was in Asakusabashi. I decided to check out "Kushiyaki Honpo Asakusabashi" that I had visited before. To my surprise, I found a new restaurant next door. It seemed like the customers were mostly from overseas, as their Japanese was a bit broken. The place was bustling, with several groups of customers enjoying highballs. They were all ordering the all-you-can-drink option for 500 yen for 60 minutes. We started with a toast with beer and were served cabbage as a complimentary appetizer. Refills were free. We also ordered seared mentaiko, edamame, onion slices, and skewers. The iron pot gyoza, priced at 290 yen for a serving of 6, was a great deal but required a minimum order for the group. The staff's energetic call of "Yo~" echoed in the restaurant. That's all for this day. Looking forward to visiting again! Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly looked down a side street and noticed a new restaurant. I decided to go in, realizing there was only an hour and a half left until closing time at 8 pm. The dishes I ordered were: salted cabbage appetizer, classic lemon sour drink, menma with chili oil, deep-fried eggplant with grated daikon, and pan-fried dumplings. Smoking was allowed at the table, which was a downside for me. Fortunately, the person next to me was using an electronic cigarette. I was surprised that they were still open past 8 pm, considering the current situation with requests for self-restraint.

The iron pot dumplings are bite-sized and on the smaller side, making it easy for women to eat two at a time. The skin is crispy and has a good texture. The ridiculously large portion of potato fries makes a big impression. They are not overly fried and are fluffy inside, making them delicious. Three of us managed to finish it. The beef tripe hot pot requires a minimum order for two people. However, the portion is quite large, and it was just right for three people. The tripe is a clean white color and very tender. The soup is quite light, could use a bit more flavor. The most memorable dishes were these three. We also ordered 3-4 items from the a la carte menu, along with four beers and sours. Despite the very affordable prices, the taste was satisfying. However, the staff seemed a bit flustered and had trouble keeping up with orders, making us hesitate to order.

Recommended person & timing ⇒ ① Kyushu cuisine that is delicious no matter what you choose and is significantly cheaper than the market price ② Open late into the night ③ When you don't mind the noise! I have been living in Asakusabashi for 3 months. There are very few eateries open late around here, so it's really convenient that this place is open until midnight and will let you in even if you're dining alone past 11 pm (depending on the day). It's a warm day for winter, and I'm craving ramen. After checking out the menus of the local izakayas, the "Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen for ¥480" caught my eye, so I decided to visit before 10 pm on a Friday. This is my second visit. It's always bustling, and this time, the noise from the kitchen and the floor is so loud that it's hard to ignore (laughs). There are no walls or soundproofing on the one-floor layout, so it can be a bit overwhelming (laughs). It's tough to get the attention of the staff with all the hustle and bustle. The alcohol comes pretty quickly once you order. The complimentary kombu cabbage is a common item, and personally, I'm not a fan of cabbage as a starter (I don't need it), but it's a good snack to go with your drink and is part of the ALL180 speedy menu that may take a while to be served, making it perfect for your first drink companion (laughs). Also, you can smoke here, so you can kill time. Finally, the eggplant with ponzu sauce arrives, and I devour it. I had it last time, but it's really delicious. It disappears in no time. It's a ¥180 menu item. Then, after a while, the tonkotsu ramen arrives. I was expecting a mini size due to the ¥480 price, but it's a regular portion (laughs). I wasn't expecting much in terms of taste, but it's incredibly delicious. It's at this point that I learn that this place is a "Kyushu sake bar" (laughs). Even though I wasn't very hungry, I finished it all in one go. Rather than eating a large bowl of ramen for ¥900 at a ramen shop, isn't it better to have this kind of gentle and sweet Kyushu-style ramen at this price? I have to emphasize that I have never been to Kyushu, so I can't compare it to the authentic taste. Despite the fact that the kitchen's clattering and the loud conversations of the group customers on the floor somehow pierce my ears (laughs), even if that costs them a star, I still want to come back and recommend this place to people in the area. The ramen is really delicious, so drink it all before it gets cold.
