This is a long-established yakitori restaurant located along Azuma Street in the 5th block of Ginza. We were with a baby, so we opted for the quiet tatami room at the back instead of the counter seats where you can see the grilling station. The daikon salad served first had a nice saltiness and aroma of shiso leaves which we liked. The skewers were all made with fresh meat cooked to perfection, and each one was delicious. Particularly memorable were the chicken breast, liver, and meatball skewers. We also ordered the minced chicken rice bowl, which had a gentle and tasty flavor with a hint of ginger. After 6 pm, the restaurant was almost full, showing its popularity. I hope this yakitori restaurant continues to thrive in this area. We are rooting for them.

The 1700 yen yakitori bowl at Isehiro is delicious, very juicy, and the sweet sauce goes well with it. If it were around 1300 yen, it would be great value for money. But considering how tasty it is, I'm satisfied with the price. The daikon salad on the side was also crunchy and good. I recommend it when you feel like having yakitori for lunch.

- The appetizer daikon radish had a subtle salty taste and was delicious with large perilla leaves. - The chicken tenderloin was cooked well but still tender, with a good balance of saltiness and wasabi. - The chicken liver had no unpleasant smell. - The gizzard had a good texture, not too hard. - The soup was not too light, with a mild flavor and lacked a strong chicken taste. - The two quail eggs were cooked well, one had a delicious kumquat flavor. - The skewered chicken and leeks were paired with shiitake mushrooms and shishito peppers. - The meatball was packed with meat and cartilage, simple and delicious. - The skin was slightly crispy, overall soft impression. - The chicken thigh had a firm cook but was tender without being dry. - The duck meat was slightly tough but had no unpleasant smell, good seasoning with a bit of fat. - The giant chicken wings that came last were surprising! The course was so filling that we couldn't order a closing dish. The restaurant had an old-fashioned grilling style, with a lot of sauce but not overwhelming, a light and pleasant taste. The head chef's smile when we left was so heartwarming, and all the staff were kind and friendly. #HigashiGinza #IsehiroGinzaGochomeBranch #The old-fashioned pink telephone ===========

I went to Isehiro, located in the basement of a building along Ginza Azuma Street. At lunchtime, I had a choice between the Yakitori Donburi and Soboro Juu. I decided to go with the Yakitori Donburi. It came with chicken soup, daikon and shiso salad, and pickles. The yakitori included tsukune, negima, and momo. The yakitori pieces were large and had a traditional charm to them, with a nice charcoal-grilled aroma. The sauce was not too strong, and I added some sansho pepper and shichimi for extra flavor. The donburi seemed a bit big for my small hands, but the portion size was just right. Overall, it was a delightful meal.

I visited Isehiro Ginza Gochome store on Tabelog with a rating of 3.50. The location is in a back alley of Ginza. The exterior is in the basement of a mixed-use building with a dining floor. The interior has counter seats and table seats, giving a cozy atmosphere. It is a long-established famous store founded in 1921. For lunch, they offer options like grilled chicken rice bowl, minced chicken rice bowl, grilled chicken set meal, and a full course. If you sit at the counter, you can watch them grill the food right in front of you with charcoal, which is quite impressive. The grilled chicken rice bowl comes with chicken broth soup, pickles, and daikon salad. They grill the chicken over high heat, giving it a deliciously fragrant taste. The dish includes chicken thigh meat, green onions, and grilled meatballs, all served with a rich sauce. It's a perfect choice for lunch. Isn't it a great restaurant?

I became a lunch refugee because it was hard to find in the basement of the building, but when I entered, it was completely empty. The calm atmosphere inside is fitting for Ginza. I had the minced chicken bento box for 1760 yen. It had half minced chicken and 2 skewers of yakitori. The seasoning of the minced chicken was elegant and the rice was delicious as expected. The yakitori was juicy and had an excellent flavor. I thought it was a bit pricey for lunch, but the quality matched the price, and I would like to come back to this restaurant again.

Grilled chicken skewers being cooked right in front of you. They are quite big in size. The chicken skewer bowl I received has three skewers on top. They are grilled well over charcoal, full of flavor. The sauce is on the lighter side, but still satisfying. It's nice to have both shichimi and sansho pepper. The taste is excellent, but the price of 1,760 yen is a bit questionable. With the impact of rising prices, it's hard not to expect something extra when paying over 1,500 yen for lunch.

After staying at home due to various reasons since the beginning of the year, I finally made my first trip to Tokyo in February. After finishing my errands, I decided to have a drink at my favorite bar. As soon as I took my first sip of this year's first Extra Dry Martini with a lemon twist, I imagined the steam rising from a large snake-eye cup of hot sake, and I knew I had to have some chicken wings at Kikumasa. Just like Hasegawa Heizou from the Ooka Echizen series, I made a quick decision, left the bar, made a phone call, and secured a seat for one. I crossed Outer Moat Street and Ginza Street, passed by the former location of Seigetsudo Likes, went down the stairs of a building, entered the shop, and settled into a prime seat at the counter. I started with a cup of hot sake, chasing after the illusion. The cleanliness, the warmth of the staff (not being overly pampered), and the comfort of the counter seats were as wonderful as ever. The full course meal was made with quality ingredients and the chicken wings were very satisfying. However, I felt that the saltiness was a bit stronger than before. I wondered if the restaurant's cooking had changed or if my palate was struggling with the taste of "luxurious food" that I hadn't had in a while. I thought to myself that I must visit this place more often...and so, with a sigh reminiscent of Ikebana, I left without any complaints.

It was Friday and all the restaurants in Ginza were fully booked. I happened to find a place that had some availability, which specializes in yakitori. The course menu included various parts of chicken such as breast, liver, gizzard, quail egg, negima (chicken and leek skewers), skin, thigh meat, chicken hearts, and chicken wing soup. The chicken was fresh and all the parts were delicious. The yakitori came in about 8 skewers, which was a bit too much for me, so they kindly packed the leftovers for me to take home. I had a great experience and would love to go back for more yakitori. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch adventure took me to the area around Ginza Station. After exiting the ticket gates of the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line at Ginza Station, I headed up the stairs at Exit A5 and turned left onto Harumi Street. Walking towards Harumi, I made a right at the first T-junction onto Azuma Street. After a short walk, I found Azuma Building on my left. Entering through the left entrance of the building and going straight ahead, I found a staircase leading down to the basement floor where I visited "Isehiro Ginza Gochome-ten" today. "Isehiro" is a long-established yakitori restaurant founded in 1921. I arrived at 11:55 am on a weekday and was seated at a table towards the back left of the restaurant by the proprietress. The menu offered four choices: Soboro Oju (1,760 yen), Yakitori Don (1,760 yen), Yakitori Teishoku (2,970 yen), and a Full Course (7,700 yen). I decided to try the Yakitori Don. After a short wait, I was served a Daikon Salad and Oshinko. Then, after another brief wait, the Yakitori Don was presented. The dish included yakitori, Daikon Salad, Oshinko, and chicken broth soup. The yakitori consisted of Negima (leek-wrapped chicken with shiitake mushroom and shishito pepper), Dango (chicken meatball), and Momo (thigh meat) with leek and shishito pepper. The flavors were delicious, with a nice balance of charcoal-grilled aroma, leek sweetness, and tender chicken. The Daikon Salad was refreshing with a light salt seasoning, and the chicken broth soup served as a palate cleanser between bites. The rice in the Yakitori Don was perfectly cooked and complemented the flavorful yakitori well. I enjoyed the meal thoroughly in this hidden gem of a restaurant. Overall, it was a satisfying experience enjoying a tasty Yakitori Don at "Isehiro." Thank you for the delicious meal.

Today's lunch is also from Ginza! As I head towards GINZA SIX from Harumi Street on Azuma Street, I come across a yakitori restaurant that catches my eye called Isehiro! Isehiro is a renowned restaurant with many offshoots, but I'm curious about their minced chicken rice bowl! The restaurant is located quietly in the basement of a building, creating a nice atmosphere. Let's savor the charcoal-grilled yakitori! Here we go! Minced chicken rice bowl! First, the minced chicken rice bowl in the lacquered box! The minced chicken is coarsely ground, giving it a nice texture! The flavor is subtle but has a delicate sweetness! The seasoning is just right, allowing the taste of the chicken to shine through! Chicken tenderloin! The salt-grilled tenderloin is moist with a nice texture! It is cooked thoroughly inside but remains juicy without being dry! The aroma of the charcoal adds a nice touch to the flavor! It pairs well with the sansho pepper! Chicken thigh with green onion! Juicy chicken thigh with a hint of charred green onion! The sauce coats the meat nicely, creating a deep flavor! The aroma of the charcoal enhances the meal, making it hard to stop eating! The fragrant shichimi pepper further elevates the umami taste! The golden clear chicken soup with pickles! The daikon salad is simple and refreshing! Although the price may be a bit high, the taste definitely justifies it! I had a satisfying and pleasant time with just the right amount of fullness in my stomach! If you're looking for a yakitori lunch in Ginza, this restaurant comes highly recommended!

For lunch, there is a choice between Yakitori Donburi (also known as donburi) or Soboro Oju (also known as soboro). The donburi contains three pieces of yakitori, while the soboro includes two pieces of yakitori and chicken soboro. Both options cost 1650 yen. It may feel a bit expensive compared to the main store, where you can get a four-piece donburi for 1600 yen. The menu is available from 1 p.m., but the main store even offers a three-piece donburi for 1080 yen, making it a sumo wrestler's meal! The Ginza store is located on the basement floor, so it may not be as noticeable, and I was able to enter without waiting (^_^) The seats at the counter towards the back, where you can see the grilling area, are premium seats. It's quite entertaining to watch the yakitori being grilled over charcoal and flipped occasionally. However, it's hot near the fire ^_^; I ordered the yakitori donburi with less rice. The toppings for the donburi are 1) regular meat, green onions, and shishito peppers 2) tsukune (chicken meatballs) 3) green onions wrapped in pork belly. The third option was a bit undercooked as the pork belly was not grilled enough. The green onions were still crunchy and not sweet. Unsweetened green onions are fine as a garnish. The rest of the dish was delicious, but I didn't like the green onions much (u_u). About half of the other customers ordered yakitori donburi, while the other half ordered soboro oju. Since soboro is not available at the main store for lunch, it might be a rare menu item. If that's the case, I'll aim for the soboro next time! I plan to go back soon to eat there again (^_^)

Isehiro is known for its straightforward and hearty yakitori. The restaurant is popular and always busy, with a variety of seating options including counter and private rooms. The access is convenient, and the standard yakitori dishes are worth a visit. The reviewer enjoyed a course of 10 skewers for 6,600 yen, with items like chicken breast, liver, quail eggs, and more. They found the grilling and seasoning a bit strong, but overall, they would consider returning for another visit.

Ginza's long-established yakitori restaurant "Isehiro" is a historic establishment founded in 1921. During the day, they serve yakitori rice bowls, and at night, a full course meal of 10 skewers. The charcoal grill right in front of the counter has a well-used feel, adding to the ambiance. The yakitori is cooked fresh from raw meat over charcoal, so it may take a bit of time before it is served. The simple yakitori bowl comes with pickles, daikon salad, and chicken broth soup. The savory aroma from the charcoal grill is wonderful. Tender thigh meat, satisfying tsukune meatballs, and thick, sweet negima skewers. The only downside is that there is no cell phone reception underground. - Name: Isehiro Ginza 5-chome Branch - Google Maps: Isehiro Ginza 5-chome Branch 03-3573-1918 https://goo.gl/maps/yLrAgzs8FbDgz4qEA - Nearest Station: Ginza Station on the Ginza Line, Hibiya Line, and Marunouchi Line (1-minute walk from Exit A5) - Business Hours: 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays - Reservations: Accepted - Seating Capacity: 32 - Price Range: Dinner 8000-9999 yen, Lunch 1000-1999 yen - Other Information: Private rooms available, no parking #foodie #GinzaYakitori #GinzaGourmet #GinzaLunch #GinzaFood #Isehiro #GourmetInstagram #Gurunavi #GourmetLovers #FoodPorn #FoodieGram #Foodstagram #FoodieLife #FoodieFriends #EpicureanClub #FoodieTravel #DeliciousIsHappiness #FoodieFriendsWanted #FoodieGirls #FoodieGuys #ConnectWithFoodies #KantoGourmet #FoodReviewGram #GourmetReport #FoodWriter #BClassGourmetInfo #TokyoCuisine

Having lunch in Ginza. I wanted to try a new restaurant, but didn't want to take any risks, so I chose this place with a rating of ⭐️3.60. I was surprised when I looked at the menu. It was expensive. Soboro Oju (minced chicken on rice) for ¥1,650, Yakitori Donburi (grilled chicken bowl) for ¥1,650, Yakitori Teishoku (grilled chicken set meal) for ¥2,750, and a full course for ¥6,600 were the only options. I ended up choosing the Yakitori Donburi. However, it took about 20 minutes for the dish to arrive. The bowl had over 3 skewers of grilled chicken, including one regular skewer, one tsukune (chicken meatball) skewer, and one skewer of meat wrapped in leeks. I tried the grilled chicken first. It was good, but nothing exceptional that couldn't be found elsewhere. The tsukune had cartilage in it, and while it was chewy, it wasn't particularly delicious. The leek-wrapped meat skewer was mostly leeks. All this for ¥1,650? With a rating of ⭐️3.60? I don't understand. I used to go to a yakitori restaurant in Hatchobori where I could get a much tastier grilled chicken bowl for half the price. I fell for the Ginza prices.

It's a long-established yakitori restaurant with its main store in Kyobashi, but I didn't realize they also had a shop in Ginza! I remember going to the Kyobashi main store a while back and it was delicious... so I decided to check out the Ginza branch. It seems like they are managed separately, maybe a branch off? The restaurant is located in the basement, tucked away a bit, with a quiet presence. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter near the entrance. I could see the yakitori being grilled right in front of me! My stomach was growling~! Now, for the lunch menu (which is relatively affordable), I was torn between the "Yakitori Donburi" and the "Soboro Ojyu" (both priced at 1650 yen). I couldn't decide, so I ended up trying both a few days apart! The "Yakitori Donburi" comes with three pieces of yakitori grilled to perfection over Kishu Binchotan charcoal. From left to right, there's thigh meat, dango, and negima. Even the thigh meat, with leeks and shishito peppers sandwiched in between, tasted amazing with the elegant sauce enhancing the flavor of the meat wonderfully. The dango, a type of chicken meatball, was grilled with salt and had sesame seeds inside, giving it a nice texture, and it was absolutely delicious. The negima, with thinly sliced thigh meat wrapped in leeks, had a rich flavor from the sauce and brought out the sweetness of the leeks, making it very satisfying. The rice soaked in the sauce was also irresistible. The "Soboro Ojyu" had minced chicken on the left side and two pieces of grilled chicken skewers (sasami and thigh meat) on the right. The sweet and savory soboro had a lingering taste, with a chewy texture mixed in, and I couldn't stop eating it with the rice. The sasami was tender and juicy, grilled with salt, and the wasabi served alongside added a nice touch. Along with the classic thigh meat, I felt like I was indulging in a feast. The daikon salad with a crisp texture and delightful flavor, the soup rich with chicken umami, and the pickles for a palate cleanser, all complemented the main dishes well. Yakitori and beer go hand in hand, but enjoying a meal with rice in the afternoon is also a great experience. I basked in the contentment of a full stomach and decided to tackle the rest of my afternoon work with determination!

Isehiro's yakitori goes really well with sake. It's a yakitori place in Ginza for sake drinkers. Especially, the combination of the overflowing umami of the "dango" (tsukune) and warm sake is irresistible. Last night, I heard from the master that Isehiro's roots are actually in Kaki-ga-cho. I had sushi in Kaki-ga-cho during the day, so my love for Chuo-ku was greatly heightened. It had been a year since I last visited due to the pandemic, but I was very satisfied with the visit. Taste: Okay Portion size: Average Memorable dish: Yakitori Donburi Menu variety: Average Atmosphere: Average Value for money: Not great Service: Average Likelihood of revisiting: Probably not The Yakitori Donburi had chicken skewers wrapped in leeks, tsukune, and negima. The sauce was light and watery, lacking in punch for a donburi. The grilled chicken itself was cooked perfectly over charcoal, with a delicious taste and smokiness. The daikon salad on the side had a refreshing shiso aroma and the right amount of saltiness. The pickles were on the stronger side in flavor.
