■ September 7, 2023 at Kanda's "Mita Seimenjo", try the jumbo salt tsukemen!
Mita Seimenjo (Kanda) Cold Tai Dashi Salt Tsukemen (Special Serving), Mita Serving 980 yen (On the 3rd of every month, "Mita Day", the Mita Serving is free)
Located just a 1-minute walk from Kanda Station's west exit, the popular tsukemen specialty shop "Mita Seimenjo" has 15 stores in the Tokyo 23 wards alone. The Kanda branch is in a great location, with 6 customers already there at 11 a.m. on a Sunday. The spacious interior has counter seats and table seats with a Japanese-style atmosphere using wooden materials.
The menu includes Tsukemen for 880 yen, Tai Dashi Salt Tsukemen for 880 yen, Spicy Tsukemen for 990 yen, and Pork Backfat Tsukemen for 990 yen, among others.
You can choose from 5 noodle sizes (small serving 240g, regular serving 320g, medium serving 450g, large serving 580g, special serving 800g + 100 yen).
On the 3rd of every month, "Mita Day", the "Mita Serving" (equivalent to 300 yen worth of toppings) is free! A very generous service!
On the day I visited, it was "Mita Day", so I ordered the Cold Tai Dashi Salt Tsukemen for 880 yen + special serving for 800g for 100 yen + Mita Serving (free) = 980 yen. After a 10-minute wait, the dish was ready.
Here it is, the jumbo tsukemen served in a bowl with a diameter of 21 cm! The special serving of 800g noodles topped with seasoned egg, chashu pork, bamboo shoots, and 2 seaweed sheets, presented with a great visual impact! The cold dipping sauce is also included, making the total weight over 1 kg, a jumbo serving of tsukemen!
First, I tried the thick noodles without dipping anything, and it was amazing! The thick noodles, thicker than the tip of chopsticks, have a strong chewy texture with elasticity! When you bite into it, there's a pleasant texture! The cold dipping sauce has a light saltiness with a refined flavor of tai fish dashi and a hint of yuzu aroma. It's incredibly delicious when dipped with the noodles!
When you slurp the noodles vigorously, be careful as the dipping sauce may splatter on your clothes, so I slurped carefully! The seasoned egg yolk is half-cooked and jelly-like, while the chashu pork is a large piece! The thick and short bamboo shoots have a very nice texture! I wrap the noodles with seaweed and enjoy it!
While savoring the dish, I finished it without breaking a sweat! I poured the remaining dipping sauce into the soup and drank it all at once, feeling completely satisfied!
The Cold Tai Dashi Salt Tsukemen exceeded my expectations in terms of deliciousness! The special serving of 800g for 980 yen is great value for money! Furthermore, on the 3rd of every month, by showing the screen of your smartphone, you can get the "Mita Serving" for free, making it a very advantageous deal!
There are parking meters and coin parking lots around Kanda Station.
