Choose your appetizer~ Steamed seiro~ Pork belly, live squid sashimi, whole blackthroat seaperch sashimi, half-fried hinadori chicken, country-style tamagoyaki, assorted obanzai dishes, Niigata specialty tarekatsu, kama-meshi rice cooked with Sado Koshihikari rice, served with side dishes and miso soup. Located just a 0-minute walk from JR Okachimachi Station, this restaurant specializes in Niigata and Sado cuisine, as well as Japanese sake. I visited for the first time on the opening day on March 3rd! The restaurant offers open counters, table seats, and private rooms in the basement, and this time we dined in a private room. The interior is clean and well-prepared for social distancing and infection prevention measures. The menu includes seafood and meat dishes, allowing you to experience various flavors of Niigata in one place, which was truly impressive! Recommended dishes like the whole blackthroat seaperch sashimi and live squid sashimi were beautifully presented and everyone enjoyed them. B-class gourmet dishes like Niigata specialty tarekatsu and curry-flavored half-fried chicken wings were also a hit. The Sado Koshihikari rice cooked in a kettle and aged at ice temperature was a crowd favorite and was quickly devoured by everyone. Although we didn't order this time, they also have a wide variety of sake selections, making it a great place for sake lovers. They offer dishes like snow crab, Niigata Wagyu beef, and yakitori with kanzuri, and there are still many delicious dishes to try, so we couldn't experience everything in one visit (laughs). Luxurious and reasonable. The taste and service are excellent, making it very convenient for banquets! I will definitely visit again! We used the weekday lunch banquet for 3 people, with a course including blowfish milt chawanmushi, assorted obanzai dishes, assorted sashimi, amberjack shabu-shabu, grilled blackthroat seaperch with seaweed salt, seasonal tempura, and oyster kamadaki rice. The all-you-can-drink option includes 3 types of sake, draft beer, and more, ensuring that even the heavy drinkers can enjoy. The assorted obanzai dishes included ankimo miso, country-style omelette, pickles, and grilled local chicken, all of which were delicious and well-balanced. The blowfish milt chawanmushi was not piping hot but was warm and well-prepared. The assorted sashimi included chu-toro, amberjack, houbou, squid, sazae, and sweet shrimp, all of which were very delicious. The amberjack shabu-shabu was a favorite, with plenty of vegetables and a delicious taste. The grilled blackthroat seaperch was highly recommended by the other two members and was indeed very tasty. The seasonal tempura included sweet potato, pumpkin, and something like melon, all of which were crispy and flavorful. The oyster kamadaki rice, made with Niigata-grown Koshihikari rice, had a good balance of rice and oysters and was very delicious. The service in the private room downstairs was very polite and attentive, with quick drink service and plate replacement. The atmosphere was upscale and elegant, providing a calm and enjoyable dining experience. The cost performance was excellent, and the availability of lunch banquet menus for reservation on weekdays was very convenient. I used it for Sunday lunch. It's right near Ueno Station. I ordered the daily special Buri-Kama set meal. It came out quickly. The atmosphere of the shop is calm and the staff are great. The seats are spacious and the white rice is very delicious. The Buri-Kama set meal was very tasty. It's a great hidden gem near Ueno Station. It may be a bit hard to find, but if you look at the map carefully, you'll get there. I would like to try going at night next time.

I had dinner at Nodo Kuro Akubi-san near Ueno Station. I enjoyed a delightful meal with Niigata sake and Niigata-produced ingredients such as Nodoguro. The eel clay pot rice dish at the end, styled like hitsumabushi, was especially delicious, and I ended up having three extra bowls. The prices were reasonable, and it was a very good restaurant. I highly recommend visiting.

I was curious about this restaurant, and the entrance looked just like a traditional inn. I was surprised to find such a place in Ueno. The interior of the restaurant also has a calming atmosphere like a traditional inn. The appetizer was amazing! You can choose from shrimp, oysters, and pork, and they steam it at your table. The sashimi platter was luxurious. The sirloin was tender, and the specialty charcoal-grilled blackthroat seaperch was perfect in every way. They have a wide variety of sake, making it hard to choose. The rice pot dish at the end was also excellent, perfect for making ochazuke. I will definitely come back again! For an additional ¥500, you can enjoy an all-you-can-drink option with a selection of 18 types of Niigata sake, making it a great deal. There are four course options available, and this time we tried the seasonal course with 6 dishes. The seasonal course (including all-you-can-drink) costs ¥5500, with an additional ¥500 for premium all-you-can-drink option. The restaurant's name suggests that the nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) is very delicious. It has a rich flavor of fat. They even serve nodoguro miso soup, which was a new experience for me. However, the price of nearly 2000 yen for lunch is still quite high. I understand that they use high-quality ingredients, so it's more of a personal choice issue. I don't get to go often, but I'll try going at night next time.

Five women entered the restaurant at 6:30 PM on a regular day. The atmosphere from the entrance was nice, and our expectations were high as we were led downstairs. The private room was spacious too! When we presented a Dining coupon from Tabelog for a complimentary drink, they said we should have mentioned it when making the reservation... I wonder if we could do that on the app? Well, they still provided the service, so that was good. The sashimi and other dishes all had a Niigata feel to them. I highly recommend the salted fish guts!

I found the nodoguro aburi-don on the menu and immediately made a reservation! When I arrived at the restaurant, I was guided to go outside a bit and down to the basement floor. The atmosphere on the first floor was great with dried fish hanging, but going downstairs, the atmosphere changed again! It had a calm and sophisticated vibe, which made me think it was suitable for entertaining clients. The seating area was surprisingly spacious, and I was guided to a private room. In addition to the set meal, I also had squid sashimi, which was delicious. The freshness was outstanding, with the whole squid tentacle included! The sashimi was thickly sliced, not what you would expect for a lunch. The main dish, the aburi-don, had high-quality fat that melted in your mouth. The set also came with crab soup, which had a delicious flavor. It may not be easy to spot as it's on a back street, but I highly recommend it for those who want to have a lunch in a calm and sophisticated space!

Last time, only 7 people were left in the department, with the department head stationed in Chicago, and two others stationed in Gurgaon and Bangalore in India, resulting in a sudden exile of 3 people to different continents. With no replacements in sight, the situation was almost like "department dismantling." Nonetheless, a farewell party was held for Wheeling, who had decided to participate. However, the two who were going to India and Chicago had both returned from their assignments and were sent abroad again within less than a year. The company was lacking in talent, so it was unavoidable. I also had experience being stationed in Vietnam and India for a total of 8 years, so I could understand their situation. While Chicago is a livable place with decent entertainment options, the two going to India were thinking, "We won't be able to enjoy this kind of lifestyle for a while." Therefore, they chose "Nodokuro no Akubi" from several options for the year-end party venue. The place was conveniently located near Okachimachi Station, with private rooms (15 in total) located in the basement. The restaurant's specialty was fresh seafood harvested daily from Sado and Niigata waters, served with Niigata local sake. We reserved a 2-hour all-you-can-drink course for 5500 yen per person. The dishes were served all at once, filling the table with a spectacular and luxurious display. The pickled Chinese cabbage appetizer was refreshing and delicious. The sashimi, including Thai, tuna, yellowtail, and squid, was all fresh and flavorful. We started with a Premium Malt beer, which was satisfying. There were about three types of Niigata local sake available for the all-you-can-drink option, but I decided to stick with beer to avoid getting too drunk on the way home. The meal ended with a delicious pot rice dish made with Sado Koshihikari rice, asari clams, and scallops, garnished with rapeseed blossoms. With a total of 6 courses, the variation and portion size were just right, leaving us satisfied. Considering the price of 5500 yen including tax, the cost-performance ratio was quite good. Overall, it seemed like a great choice for a farewell party for overseas expatriates.

Revisit accuracy 88%. Occasionally, my wife and I decided to go to Ameya Yokocho for some delicious food. I had been talking about the refined fat of the throat blackthroat for a while, and it had grown in my wife's mind, so she really wanted to eat it. She also wanted to eat crab and yellowtail sashimi, which are in season now. "Nodo Kuro Akubi" was the perfect place to satisfy our luxurious and selfish desires all at once. Well, it goes without saying that the throat blackthroat is delicious. Just as I heard at the Fish Market Third Generation. The crab was a bit small, so we accepted it as for making broth, but the sashimi platter and the amount of food for this price are impressive. Strong points: A variety of seafood from the Sea of Japan side, including Etchu, Noto, Kaga, Echizen, and Wakasa, all in abundance! All-you-can-drink and eat to your heart's content. It was a course with all-you-can-drink for 8,500 yen near Ueno station. The salt-grilled fish was delicious with rich flavor. The staff served the oyster hot pot rice at the end. They even packed the leftover rice as a souvenir for me! I will definitely come back next month.

I used the 8800 yen course for lunch. It was a great deal with all-you-can-drink included. The raw blackthroat seaperch sashimi was delicious, and the salt-grilled dish was also good. This year, as the end approaches, there has been no mention of a year-end party or bonuses from the company. So, we decided to have our own year-end party. We chose a restaurant with a very attractive course menu. 【Course Menu】 - Steamed fugu shirako - Special assorted sashimi - Amberjack shabu-shabu - Steamed snow crab on a ceramic plate - Assorted side dishes - Oyster kamameshi cooked in a pot using Sado's koshihikari rice [With 2-hour all-you-can-drink] 5500 yen (tax included) However, we don't drink that much, so we asked if we could remove the all-you-can-drink option, and they said it would be okay for a discount of 1500 yen. We also ordered a grilled blackthroat seaperch for each of us. If you drink more than three drinks, the all-you-can-drink option is definitely more cost-effective, but we later found a coupon on Tabelog. By using the coupon for the first drink, we could save two drinks per person. There were four of us, so we used the coupon and all had a toast with beer. The dishes were served in the following order: 1. Thick slices of amberjack shabu-shabu 2. Assorted side dishes 3. Steamed fugu shirako 4. Grilled blackthroat seaperch 5. Special assorted sashimi 6. Steamed snow crab 7. Oyster kamameshi The food came out quickly, and we were busy eating. By the time the last two dishes were served, we were quite full. The steamed snow crab was delicious, and the oyster kamameshi had a strong ginger flavor. We ended the meal by making ochazuke with the rice. In the end, the total bill was 19,690 yen, but with a 20% PayPay promotion, we received 3,098 yen back, making it 16,592 yen in total, which was about 4,000 yen per person. It was a lucky and satisfying experience for all of us. If you don't drink much, I recommend using coupons instead of the all-you-can-drink option.

I walked in without a reservation and was seated at a corner table near the entrance. I ordered the seared throat of flathead fish bowl. The flathead fish was delicious with its rich flavor. The miso soup was a bit difficult to drink due to the bones, and because I was seated where I could see the chef working, I couldn't relax and enjoy my meal in peace. Next time, I would like to make a reservation and sit in a seat towards the back.

I visited for the first time. In Ameyoko, the atmosphere was very calm, the interior of the restaurant was nice, and we could enjoy our meal quietly and deliciously. We had a huge amount of food, such as sashimi, grilled throat fish with seaweed salt, tonkatsu, tamagoyaki, salmon shiokara, yakitori, and Thai mixed rice, among others, with three people. Especially the sashimi, throat fish, and tamagoyaki were delicious. The staff were friendly and explained the sake and sashimi carefully, which made us very satisfied. I felt like I wanted to go again! The only disappointing thing was when we were waiting outside the restaurant for our friend to arrive before making a reservation, a kitchen staff member came to throw away something, maybe trash or an empty styrofoam box, and passed right in front of us without saying anything, then threw it down with a loud noise... It was a disappointing attitude, especially since I think they could tell we were about to enter the restaurant.

The atmosphere is very nice, and the customer service is polite. I tried the grilled blackthroat seaperch, which had fluffy and firm meat, incredibly delicious. When you hear about Okachimachi, you might think of Ameyoko, and when you hear about Ameyoko, you might think of cheap and low-quality items. However, I found a great restaurant just a short walk from Okachimachi Station. It's called "Nodoguro no Akubi" (Okachimachi branch) (photo 1). The second photo shows the menu displayed in front of the restaurant. The third photo is the entrance of the restaurant (storefront). I was looking for a restaurant where I could use the limited T-point consumption on Tabelog, so I made a reservation and went there, and it was a hit. The atmosphere was nice, the interior was beautiful, and the food quality and customer service were excellent. As soon as I walked through the shop curtain, the staff greeted me with a smile, saying, "Are you Mr./Ms. [name] who made a reservation?" We were seated at the counter in the back, and they even allowed us to use the chair next to us for our belongings. A pitcher of unlimited tea was placed on the table. I ordered the "Nodoguro no Aburi Gozen (¥1,848)". It arrived in about 3 minutes (photo 4). The appearance of the Gozen meal was high-quality and well-balanced, and it lived up to its appearance when I tasted it. Each slice of sashimi was flavorful. The rice was also delicious, made with high-quality Koshihikari rice. The miso soup, which contained crab and fish scraps, was also worth mentioning. I was able to pay with a credit card for lunch, and of course, I was able to use my points. Yesterday's lunchtime was not only enjoyable because of the delicious food but also because I felt good overall.

Today, I had lunch in Ueno. I had been curious about this place since it opened in March, but the lunch menu was quite expensive, around 1,400 yen. However, they started offering lunch menus for under 1,000 yen, but I still didn't find them appealing. What I really wanted to try here was the Nodoguro, which is also the name of the restaurant. So, I decided to go and choose what to eat once inside. At 11:36, my colleague and I entered the restaurant, with 4 customers already there and 4 more coming in after us. I initially planned to go for a more affordable menu, but none of them caught my eye... Since I recently received a bonus, I decided to splurge and ordered the Nodoguro menu. The food was served in about 7 minutes - Nodoguro bowl, crab miso soup, simmered eggplant and red bell pepper, and pickles. It all looked very delicious. First, I tried the Nodoguro without adding anything. The moment it entered my mouth, the rich fatty sweetness spread. It was incredibly tasty with a lot of fat, just amazing. After enjoying the Nodoguro on its own and savoring the sweetness of the fat, I tried the vinegared rice. The rice was moist with a chewy texture. The crab miso soup had salmon scraps at the bottom, with plenty of carrots, daikon radish, and burdock root. The simmered eggplant was tender and delicious. Although it was a bit pricey, the satisfaction level was even higher. Eating the Nodoguro was definitely the right choice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.Visited for lunch on July 7, 2022. Rating: 3.16

It was a calm and quiet restaurant in the bustling Ueno area where you can have a peaceful conversation. The dishes were carefully prepared and satisfying.
