Today is Marine Day, but the weather is not favorable. However, the forecast in the morning predicted that the rain would stop around noon, so I decided to plan my food log activities, including the revenge visit to the bakery that I had to give up on the previous day due to rain. I decided to have lunch in the Awajicho area. As a result, I came up with a list of restaurants near Awajicho Station, and one of them was this restaurant. This restaurant is located inside WATERRAS (ワテラス), which is close to Awajicho Station. WATERRAS is a complex facility built on the site of the former Awajicho Elementary School in Chiyoda Ward, as part of the "Awajicho 2-chome West District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project." The concept is to "inherit the good traditions and nurture a new community." It consists of offices, commercial facilities, residences, and emphasizes community interaction, with community facilities and student dormitories also provided. It is mainly composed of the high-rise building "WATERRAS TOWER" and the separate building "WATERRAS ANNEX," with a garden themed around "water and greenery," and is adjacent to the Sora City complex developed at the same time. This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of "WATERRAS COMMON" in WATERRAS TOWER. WATERRAS COMMON has a hall with a large 250-inch screen adjacent to this restaurant on the 3rd floor, a gardening shop and salon on the 1st floor, and a gallery, library, and concept store on the 2nd floor. I arrived at WATERRAS a little after 11 am, which is the opening time of this restaurant. I took the escalator to the 3rd floor from the front entrance, entered WATERRAS TOWER on the left, and naturally arrived in WATERRAS COMMON in front of this restaurant. I entered the restaurant around 11:10 am. The interior of the restaurant has a spacious atmosphere, with chairs mostly in sofa form arranged comfortably. In consideration of group dining, large table seats are also provided. One of the features of this restaurant is that the ceiling design is modeled after the old Awajicho Elementary School auditorium. It serves as a space for office workers, visitors to the area, and a place for local residents to pass on memories and community built over the years in a new form. There were only two female customers when I arrived. The staff told me to choose any seat I like, so I sat at a 2-person table seat overlooking the 2nd floor. The lunch menu was placed on the table. It stated that it was the weekend version, so it seemed different from the weekday menu. There were 5 menu items, including Hainan Chicken Rice, Panini, Hamburger, Pasta, and Grilled Kalbi, featuring international cuisine. The prices were 1,200 yen for all items except for Hainan Chicken Rice, which was 1,000 yen. I ordered the Terass 8890 special Hamburger with Foie Gras. The Foie Gras was a weekend version bonus, which made me think that the weekend version of this restaurant offers higher performance than the weekday menu. Due to its location in an office district, it may not struggle to attract customers on weekdays, but it may not attract many people on holidays. In this regard, suburban shopping centers tend to offer better deals on weekday menus. The lunch set includes a main plate, salad, rice, soup, and a drink. I chose Ginger Ale for my drink. I was asked about the timing of my drink, so I requested it to be served with the food. After waiting for about 4 minutes, the salad, soup, and Ginger Ale were served. Then, about 4 minutes later, the Hamburger plate and rice were brought to me. The salad was a mini size, with ham strips on top of sunny lettuce, dressed with French dressing. It was a small portion that disappeared in almost one bite. The Hamburger was cooked thoroughly, not overflowing with juices, but it was juicy enough and quite tasty. The deliciousness of the Foie Gras goes without saying, but the weekend version of this restaurant seems to offer a higher level of performance than the weekday menu.
