Wildheath
As the year-end approaches in December, I visited for a relaxing lunch break in between tidying up. It's past 2 pm, so it's surprisingly calm, but there are still some customers around. I ordered the most basic bento box, "Kozue" (5,500 yen). For my drink, I chose the organic azuki bean tea, Akane tea (800 yen). The appetizer was egg tofu topped with fried cherry shrimp and turnip miso paste. The soft egg tofu paired well with the crispy cherry shrimp. The soup was clear soup with bream, tube-shaped tofu, and shiitake mushrooms. The bream tasted light compared to grilled fish, but lacked depth compared to sea bream. Now, the bento box consists of two tiers. The first tier includes tuna and sweet shrimp sashimi, fresh wasabi from Shizuoka, rolled omelette, roe, red konjac jelly, matsukaze (simmered dish), chestnut, fresh wheat gluten, and more. The second tier includes grilled mackerel with yuzu, pickled kabura turnip from Seigoin, marinated amberjack with sweet vinegar, cream croquette with lemon, red leaf rice, and pickles. The red leaf rice contains sweet potatoes and thinly fried tofu. The cream croquette has a smooth texture with shimeji mushrooms inside. For dessert, there was strawberry coconut pudding with matcha custard sauce flavored with sweet sake. Overall, while everything was delicious, there was nothing particularly outstanding. It's a Park Hyatt after all, so expectations may have been too high. Nevertheless, the view is amazing, so it's a great choice for important gatherings or entertaining.
