I visited the restaurant for the first time because I wanted to try Okinawan cuisine after watching a morning drama. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the attentiveness of the staff were great, and most importantly, the food was delicious! The Fu Chanpuru in particular was amazing. I would love to go back again. [Ordered Menu] - Tofu and Avocado Salad - Pork and Egg - Fu Chanpuru - Okinawa Soba (Half portion) - Blue Seal Ice Cream - Sata Andagi

I visited a Okinawan izakaya just a few minutes walk from the station at night. It has a hidden, cozy atmosphere. The Orion draft beer, sea grapes, and bitter melon champuru were all exceptional. I felt that Okinawa is truly unique in terms of food, the ambiance of the restaurant, and even the music. It made me forget that I was in Japan, and I ended up forgetting about many other things as well.

I made a reservation and went with three friends. The Okinawan cuisine was delicious. I forgot the name, but the butter-grilled fish was amazing, with a crispy skin and juicy meat. The sea grapes dish was also very tasty. The Orion beer nuts served as a starter were so good that I wanted to take some home. It would have been nice to have sashimi on the menu. The prices were reasonable, so I recommend this place. It's a small restaurant, and the staff were attentive and provided good recommendations. It's a great place to enjoy the Okinawan atmosphere with a group of 3-5 people.

Okinawa soba... I love it for its simple and gentle taste. Tebichi... Rich and creamy flavor. Light seasoning but very satisfying. Suki Garasu... Visually appealing with a decadent cuteness. Light taste. Papaya salad... Also very light. It's great to eat in between dishes like Tebichi for a balanced meal. Sea grapes... Fun popping texture. Jimami tofu... The chewy texture is irresistible! Tonporo... A favorite taste to eat with rice. Alcohol... A rare thick drink made with banana and yogurt. It may not stand out due to its location, but it's a highly recommended restaurant worth traveling from far away for.

A seriously Okinawa-themed restaurant, packed with atmosphere. First, a pint of Orion draft beer in a medium-sized glass, followed by some beer nuts on the table (I took a photo for reference). I went for the turmeric curry flavor. For starters, I ordered two dishes: - Gima-mi tofu: Peanut tofu with a rich flavor, no need to add any extra seasonings. - Goya champuru: A classic dish with spam, well-prepared bitter melon, perfectly cooked eggs, and a light fried tofu topping. The seasoning and salt balance were on point, with a sprinkling of bonito flakes on top. Delicious! I also tried a rare Awamori for 2,000 yen. This place is now on the top of my list for Okinawan cuisine in Tokyo/Kanagawa. I added a few more dishes: - Island pickles with meat miso, a popular choice among customers. - Tebichi: The collagen-rich pork knuckles were amazing, with a subtle seasoning and a great kombu broth. I also tried a unique white lily Awamori recommended by the owner. The total bill came to around 3,000 yen per person. After paying, I even bought a Chinquapin wrapped in plastic as a dessert-like treat. "Uruma" is another name for Okinawa, meaning "coral" for "uru" and "island" for "ma" in the local language. I didn't know that. "Uruma Island," a promising restaurant.

Today's second lunch was at "Uruma Island" in Adachi-ku, Takenotsuka. It's an Okinawan cuisine izakaya lunch. There is no parking lot, so you have to use a nearby coin parking. The lunch menu at Uruma Island looks like this, and the takeout bento is cheap! The "Okinawa salt yakisoba" for 350 yen really stands out. Let's go inside. The interior has Okinawan vibes with background music and decorations. There is a sofa-like counter, and even solo diners have plenty of space. I ordered the "Rafute Don" and it arrived. Wow, the plate is huge! The dish includes 3 pieces of Rafute and a side salad. There is no rice under the salad. The food tastes great! The amount of rice is quite substantial, so I was worried if the Rafute would be enough, but the sauce mixes well with the rice, almost like "Tare Gohan." The Rafute itself seems to have been boiled before being cooked. It seems like the excess fat has been removed, and since the pork belly had less fat to begin with, even someone like me who is on a diet could enjoy it. How about some tiramisu for dessert? Is Awamori coffee a common thing? I don't drink alcohol, but it looks delicious.

I visited "Uruma Island," a restaurant that serves Okinawan cuisine and has a branch in Kita-Senju. Located in Takenotsuka, this restaurant is popular for offering a taste of the local atmosphere while being close to the station. During my visit on a holiday, I saw families, couples, and people enjoying Okinawan cuisine after work. I went with two friends and here is what we ordered: - Orion Beer (draft) - 550 yen - Awamori (Okinawan distilled spirit) - Kumesen 30% - 490 yen (Green label), Sangojou 30% - 490 yen, Yonaguni 30% - 490 yen - Skugarasu - 420 yen - Hirayachi - 420 yen - Island Tofu - 420 yen - Jimamidofu - 530 yen - Sunui (mozuku seaweed) Tempura - 480 yen - Goya Sasa - 450 yen - Mimigaa Kimchi - 480 yen - Chinsukou (Okinawan cookie) - 30 yen I have visited Okinawa four times and have only found pork dishes delicious. A few years ago, there was a boom in Okinawan cuisine, and many restaurants opened. The ones that have survived are still serving delicious food. Okinawan cuisine, influenced by Fujian and Taiwan, has a depth that I realized during this visit. Although I didn't try the classic dishes like Rafute and Goya Champuru this time, I would like to try them again. Thank you for the meal.

We went to a Okinawan restaurant with my family, located just a short walk from Takenotsuka Station. Since my father is from Okinawa, we occasionally visit to immerse ourselves in the Okinawan atmosphere. Today, there was a rare Okinawan folk music live performance! All the customers in the restaurant stood up and danced the unique Okinawan dance together. The food was delicious, the service was great! The live performance will be held again in May, so it's recommended for those who want to have a good time! The rolled omelet with asai, Somin Chanpuru, pickled shallots, and Soki Soba were all delicious!

I moved to a place just a minute's walk away, so I thought I should check out this restaurant! My partner and I entered in super casual clothes, feeling a bit nervous as we saw no customers inside... There were counter seats, but it felt more like a place for food than drinks, so we chose a table seat. We were served a complimentary Orion beer, which was light and tasty. We ordered a variety of dishes like Rafute and Champuru, and dug in heartily. Everything was delicious! The staff, who were locals, were extremely polite and kind. Although we didn't plan on drinking much, we ended up trying their recommended Awamori too. It was a great place to leisurely enjoy Okinawan cuisine and Awamori. However, the lack of customers made it feel a bit lonely. I hope they do well as I'd like to visit often. Thank you for the meal.

In September, after over 20 years, I went on a trip to Okinawa and was once again amazed by the wonderful Okinawan cuisine at a restaurant my wife found on "Tabelog". Although we haven't visited together yet, I have been there several times for lunch from Gotanda, using my cane. Inside the restaurant, Okinawan folk songs play and the TV shows beautiful images of Okinawa's "Churaumi Sea", making me think of Okinawa's scenery involuntarily. For lunch, they offer set meals (750 yen) and a buffet (800 yen), but I always order the "Okinawa soba set". It includes mozuku vinegar, fried food (purple sweet potato croquette - I wish they had different options sometimes, but it's delicious), rice (extra large portion available), and Okinawa soba. The Spam and kamaboko on the Okinawa soba are irresistible. The mozuku and shima rakkyo are delicious, but the "somin chanpuru", "fu chanpuru", and "spa-tama (a must-have Okinawan breakfast item)" are also amazing. I recalled some delicious Okinawan restaurants I visited in the past. Next time, I definitely want to visit at night with my wife. I want to enjoy some sata andagi, A&W potato, Blue Seal ice cream, and fully immerse myself in the Okinawan atmosphere.

I visited Okinawa cuisine Izakaya Uruma Island in July during my trip to Tokyo. It is very close to Takenotsuka Station, so the transportation is convenient. I ordered island pickles and Goya champuru, both of which were delicious! Among them, the best dish was the "Rafute". It had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and the sweet and savory soy sauce and black sugar seasoning was indescribable. I became addicted to it and definitely want to eat it again. The energetic service of the staff in Eisa costumes left a lasting impression. I definitely want to go back again.
