I wonder how many times I've been here. The first time was just by chance, and the second time I was looking for a place with "Dragon" in the name. I really like this place, but it doesn't come up easily when I search for "Ikebukuro Yakitori" on Tabelog. Maybe because the ratings are low? It's a shame because the chef's skills at grilling yakitori are excellent. The service isn't very friendly, but the chef is very focused on grilling the yakitori. This time, I ordered the Yakitori Omakase set of 9 skewers (with dessert). The waiter asked if it was too much, but I assured them it was fine. While waiting, I enjoyed the appetizer. The first skewer was chicken breast, and they asked if I wanted yuzu or wasabi salt. I chose yuzu. Normally, I expect chicken breast to be dry when grilled, but here it was juicy and delicious. The chef's timing was perfect with each skewer. I will definitely go back.

The grilling skills are excellent! The atmosphere of the restaurant is like an izakaya, but the yakitori is really delicious!! It's not like the trendy high-end yakitori places, but you can order one skewer at a time, and the grilling is really skillful so everything you eat is delicious! There are not many delicious yakitori places in Ikebukuro that are easy for women to visit, but this place is recommended! The selection of alcohol is also good!

Ikebukuro had a shop I really wanted to visit on my way back from shopping, but I was in the mood for yakitori. I quickly searched and decided on this place. The entrance was on the ground floor, and I went down the stairs to the underground shop. The high ceiling gave a spacious feel. The prices were decent, with a solid lineup. Unfortunately, they were out of liver, seseri, duck with leeks, duck with asparagus, liver skewers, and chicken heart. From the side menu, I tried stick vegetables, firefly squid, and miso. In my personal opinion after visiting over 100 yakitori restaurants in Tokyo, the harami and seseri were juicy and delicious. The liver wasn't to my liking. The duck looked delicious but lacked juiciness, being a bit dry. The ginkgo nuts and chicken heart were tasty. The stick vegetables were okay, but the mayo and miso weren't great. I used the spicy miso provided on the table. The firefly squid was average, with too much unnecessary leeks. The upscale interior had a sticky glass at the grilling area, scattered hangers on the walls, and staff always behind you. The liver was served last. They also had wine priced around 700 yen. The food was tasty, but the prices were not cheap, so the cost performance was a bit low. I then went to a second yakitori restaurant.

I entered the restaurant before 6 pm on a national holiday. I was staying at a hotel for a business trip and searched for a nearby yakitori place online. It was conveniently located near Ikebukuro Station. The spacing between tables was good and the atmosphere was calm. They had a variety of sake and shochu. Overall, it was a bit pricey. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) and liver were delicious. The gizzard was small and not worth the price. It's a safe choice if you just want to eat regular yakitori.

I had "Otoshi ¥500," "Torikai Mizuwari ¥600," and "Kushi mono ¥280 x 14 pieces" at the counter seat. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm. The yakitori chef grilled each skewer carefully. The charcoal-grilled skewers were delicious. Yakitori is simple yet difficult as everything depends on the grilling method and salt sprinkling. The Hatsu Moto sauce was particularly good! I was satisfied with being able to eat rare chicken parts as well. My evaluation is based on "cost performance"! It considers the satisfaction level in relation to the amount paid and whether I would go back again as the criteria for evaluation.

I visited this place once before and have delicious memories. So I decided to visit again. First of all, the presentation of the dishes is stylish. The atmosphere is really nice. The two-person table is a bit small, but considering the clientele in Ikebukuro, it might be just the right distance for companions. The grilling is done well. The meat is tender, with a good amount of fat remaining. And the seasoning is just right. It has the perfect amount of salt for those who enjoy drinking. On June 22nd (Tuesday), I discovered a delicious yakitori restaurant called "Yaki Ryu" at the east exit of Ikebukuro. You can enjoy a set of 5 yakitori skewers and drinks at a leisurely pace! The omakase set of 5 skewers comes with salad and chicken soup for 1650 yen. The ponzu sauce on the bonjiri with negi is my favorite. The combination of ponzu sauce and negi goes well with the non-fatty bonjiri! They also serve alcohol! This is a restaurant I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

On June 20, 2021 (Sunday), had a rare outdoor dining experience. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was relatively calm. We were served okra as a complimentary appetizer. We ordered a course of 8 skewers, soup, and dessert for 2,500 yen, along with other dishes like marinated firefly squid, chicken tail with ponzu sauce, and a salad-like dish (can't remember the name). The chicken soup was delicious. The dessert felt more like a bonus. Each skewer cost around 300 yen, so the course didn't feel particularly cost-effective. The taste was decent, but the prices seemed high, possibly due to the location. The drink prices were also on the higher side.

Yakitori, charcoal-grilled skewers restaurant "Yakiryu (Tatsu)" is a place that I had heard about but never visited, as it was a favorite spot of an acquaintance with whom I didn't have much interaction. It is located across from the main branch of "Seiryu" on Sunshine Chuo Street. This street is also known as the birthplace of the chain restaurant "Ootoya." For me, it used to be just the road to Ootoya 32 or 33 years ago. I saw a lunch special advertised at this restaurant, so I decided to visit. When I entered, I was seated and given water and a wet towel, and the staff said they would prepare my order. The lunch special I chose was the "Yakiryu Lunch - Beef tongue and grated yam set" (1,000 yen) - as shown in the photo. The thinly sliced beef tongue was surprisingly delicious, with a good cut and excellent flavor. The beef tongue was served with a slightly strong salty umami sauce and wasabi, and although I usually dislike heavily seasoned dishes, I was impressed by how the flavor of the beef tongue and the smoky taste of the grilling came through after the seasonings faded. The beef tongue was well-cooked to complement the rice in the set meal, and the barley rice, cooked with less water, paired well with the sauce. The tail soup, made with beef bone broth, was flavorful and the grated yam was outstanding. The salad dressing served with the beef tongue had a miso base, and the pickled vegetables added to the meal's overall balance. The service was very polite and friendly, and even though I didn't mention my acquaintance, there was a sense of understanding and connection. Overall, I found the meal well thought out and satisfying. The staff kindly suggested I visit again, and I left feeling content. I hesitated to give a rating of "4.0" after just one visit, especially for a lunch meal. I'm sure their grilling skills are equally impressive at night. This restaurant didn't seem like a place that would receive an average rating of '3.20' based on 17 reviews.

I feel like eating yakitori. I remember the past and ask for information. On Friday around 8:00 PM, I entered the restaurant thinking it might be full, but luckily there was one table available. I started with ordering beer and looking at the menu. There seemed to be different types of sake, but I felt it might be dangerous to drink, so I refrained. I ordered tataki, yakitori, pickled vegetables, and eggs, and waited. The tataki and pickled vegetables had no taste, maybe because my nose was stuffy. The yakitori was served hot, one plate at a time. I liked the liver cooked to my liking, but the rest was just okay. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant with my friends for drinks (*´꒳`*) Although I don't have any photos, the yakitori here is all thick and satisfying to eat!! The liver was also cooked rare and was amazing (*´ω`*) The charcoal grilling was done well and the staff's service was great. The first beer was also delicious with fine bubbles. A lively yakitori restaurant. We sat at the counter this time, so we could see them grilling the skewers. It was our first visit, so we ordered a mixed skewer set of 5 and thick grilled egg. We enjoyed some drinks while waiting for the skewers to cook. As time passed, the seats filled up quickly, but we relaxed and enjoyed the delicious yakitori, especially the softness of the tsukune skewer was wonderful. I didn't know it could be grilled so fluffy like that. We'll definitely be back again.

When entering the shop on the basement floor, there were about 8 tables and seats as well as a counter. I was seated in front of the grill. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. Whenever I go to a yakitori restaurant, I always order chicken tenderloin. I believe the tenderness of chicken tenderloin reflects the skill of the chef. The tenderloin at this restaurant was juicy and very delicious. I recommend it. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were also juicy and tasty, and the chicken skin was crispy. They were all delicious, but I remember the price being around 300 yen per skewer, which I thought was a bit expensive. Overall, the food was tasty despite the slightly higher price.

Good price range and balanced taste. Close to Ikebukuro Station, very satisfied and would like to use it again.
