This is a restaurant I used to frequent when I lived in Asagaya! Today, on my way back from Mt. Takao, I went to Asagaya and visited this place after a long time! It was Sunday at 6:45 PM. There were 3 customers, 2 groups. We had 1 beer, 3 Kuroda Balls (sake with soda), half portion of grilled chicken liver, sasami with grated yam and natto, shrimp mayo, and meatball udon, all for a little over 4000 yen. Cheap! Delicious!! Amazing!!! There are many types of appetizers to enjoy before the okonomiyaki, and finishing with okonomiyaki was the best! The place is run by a couple, and they are very friendly, so I highly recommend it! By the way, they are big fans of Hiroshima Carp and pro wrestling, so baseball or wrestling is always on TV (laughs). If you're interested in that, even better (laughs). [Out of 100 points] Taste: 90 points, Presentation: 85 points, Cost performance: 90 points, Interior: 80 points, Service: 85 points, Overall: 86 points. Evaluation criteria: 0-49 points: Unbelievable, 50-69 points: Bad! 70 points: A bit more, 75 points: Well, 80 points: Quite good, 85 points: Very good, 90 points: Extremely good, 95 points: Wonderful, 100 points: No room for complaints! *I am quite strict in my evaluation of okonomiyaki as it is my favorite dish. I often make it myself, so it has to be better than my own to get a high score. If it gets 70 points, it's a good restaurant, right?

Last year, after watching a violent movie set in Hiroshima called "Kitsunewolf," starring Takeru Satoh, I had a craving for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. However, as someone who often dines alone, I found it difficult to go to a teppanyaki restaurant. The desire remained unfulfilled until recently when I discovered a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant in Asagaya, where I have been exploring new places. I went there with a friend who lives in Asagaya. The owner, who appeared tough like a band member, was actually very friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a long and narrow layout with several teppanyaki grills in the back and 5-6 chairs in front. It seemed like the regular customers sat at the counter seats while we sat at a table near the front. We enjoyed some appetizers before diving into the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, which were reasonably priced at around 300-500 yen each and featured many interesting dishes from Hiroshima. I reminisced about my trip to Hiroshima as I sipped on Setouchi lemon sour. Some of the appetizers we tried included: - Senjigara: A Hiroshima specialty, similar to crispy pork offal. It was addictive with its sweet fatty flavor. - Grilled chicken liver: Rare and delicious, similar to rare liver sashimi. - Kounen-yaki: A Hiroshima specialty made with beef brisket, which was flavorful and paired well with the green onion ponzu sauce. - Chicken tataki: Chicken sashimi dipped in soy sauce. - Motsu-ni: Beef tripe stew with a rich and delicious broth. The owner was honest about the stew not being fully flavored yet, so he served a lighter version first. - Special yaki: A unique dish with thin noodles mixed with spicy chili paste, topped with sweet and fluffy cabbage. It was a light and tasty option, perfect for pairing with drinks. The restaurant was bustling with customers speaking in Hiroshima dialect, creating a mini-travel experience. The prices in Asagaya were reasonable for both food and drinks, making me want to come back again. It's a place where you can comfortably dine alone. Note: During the day, the restaurant operates under the name "Uchuu Curry."

Delicious! Affordable! A cozy restaurant filled with love for Hiroshima! Although it's known for its okonomiyaki, they also have a wide variety of appetizers. And the best part is the cost performance... I was so surprised that you can have such delicious chicken sashimi for under 500 yen. The main okonomiyaki was not only tasty but also had a huge portion. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is lively with many regular customers (a lot of locals from Hiroshima), making you feel energized.

I wanted to eat okonomiyaki, but my usual place was closed, so I decided to try this new restaurant. It had a Hiroshima-style izakaya atmosphere. I ordered the okonomiyaki, and when it arrived, it looked a bit messy at first, but that was the charm. It was overflowing with cabbage and bean sprouts, surpassing the standard of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The sweetness of the abundant cabbage made the taste excellent, and it felt like a healthy menu. Thanks to eating this okonomiyaki, I didn't feel guilty about drinking. With a cold beer, the bill came out to be in the 1000 yen range. I already feel like going back soon.

All the other dishes were delicious too. The miso stir-fried hormone, stir-fried white liver, and more were all great with drinks. The place is lively thanks to the master's personality and tasty dishes. Even if you're not a Carp fan, you can still enjoy it.笑

When I ordered okonomiyaki, I waited for it to be ready with some snacks and beer. I chatted with the owner about the Hiroshima Carp baseball team and got excited talking about pro wrestling. The okonomiyaki was quite sweet, probably because it had a lot of vegetables. It was delicious.

I'm in the mood for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki♪ Come to think of it, I haven't had okonomiyaki in a while. Personally, I might not actually like okonomiyaki that much. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is great with lots of vegetables. When you eat okonomiyaki or Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki at a restaurant, it can be expensive, but this place surprised me with its generous portion and delicious taste! Of course, it had plenty of cabbage, cheese, meat, and soba noodles in the meat-tama-soba-cheese. It was one of the most delicious Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki I've had. The cheese and soba noodles are a sneaky addition, right? The sauce used was Otafuku sauce. It was also nice to have plenty of pickled ginger.
