It's 4:30 pm and I imagined it would be empty, but both the first and second floors are almost fully booked. What a surprise, it's incredibly popular. I knew it would be crowded on weekday nights, but I never expected to struggle on a Saturday at 4:30 pm. The first floor is lined with impressive oysters. The counter seats on the second floor were barely available. There are no partitions, and each seat is quite narrow, so I'm not sure how it is in terms of COVID, but I wonder if partitions really make a difference. The customers are mostly trendy-looking people. Maybe it's because it's Saturday evening. However, gradually as the night falls, more calm adult customers are starting to arrive. Maybe it was just the influence of Saturday evening. The menu is listed at the bottom. Brooklyn Lager (860 yen) - There are several types of craft beers available. I didn't know Brooklyn Lager was such a dark beer. The appetizer is prosciutto. Bottle of white wine (6,900 yen) - I thought white wine would go well with oysters, so I quickly changed to a bottle of wine. There are quite a variety of wines on the list, and the prices are on the higher side. Oysters 6 pieces (3,000 yen x 2) - They arrived promptly. Two sets of 6 pieces of oysters. It used to be 2,480 yen, but it became 3,000 yen a year ago and the price hasn't changed since. Whenever I come to Osteria, I always order this 6-piece set for myself. There's no other option. I really want to eat 12 pieces by myself because each one tastes different and it's fun and delicious. Even if I think "Oh, this is delicious!" I end up eating each one in one bite, and since I can only order one type per person, I feel a bit reluctant. That's also good. I enjoyed the raw oysters quickly, but the latter part was not a walk in the park either. The side dishes are also quite good. Salmon and avocado tartare (860 yen) - The taste is as expected. It may not be a recommendation. Gooey Gruyere cheese omelette (690 yen) - A reasonable omelette. The Gruyere cheese's flavor and stretchiness are nice. It might be good as a warm dish. Clam chowder New England style (760 yen) - You can choose between clams and oysters, Osteria style. The captain chose oysters. It's rich and delicious. Oysters and shiso risotto (1,630 yen) - A popular menu since the establishment. Shiso works like basil. This is indeed delicious. The grilled prosciutto adds saltiness, and the pepper gives a spicy kick. Highly recommended. Homemade sausage of Hagi Chiku pork (990 yen) - Finally, I wanted to eat something meaty, so I ordered the sausage. Under the hot sausage, there is a bed of mashed potatoes. The quality for under 1,000 yen is fantastic. This is also recommended. There are several oyster bars in Shinjuku, but this is the first one that comes to mind. [Order] As listed above, 10,000 yen for one person.
