Cold potato salad with ikura topping: 880 yen
Grilled fish collar: 880 yen
Venison loin: 1,280 yen
This robatayaki restaurant in Shinjuku Nishiguchi offers a refreshing atmosphere to enjoy delicious dishes. The meal starts with a luxurious sashimi platter as an appetizer! The hearty grilled meats and fish are a highlight, along with fresh robatayaki vegetables and creatively prepared izakaya dishes, providing a wide variety of options to enjoy. The signature potato salad comes with a generous topping of ikura! Despite being a robatayaki restaurant, the seafood dishes are exceptional! Salmon salted roe and oyster kimchi pair perfectly with beer or sake. The grilled fish collar was a bit challenging to eat, but the fatty texture was excellent! They offer large-sized drinks, allowing you to enjoy plenty at a great value. There are also affiliated restaurants in the same Shinjuku area. As this izakaya is quite popular, it is recommended to make a reservation before visiting!

This morning, when I headed towards Nishi-Shinjuku Station from Shinjuku Station, I noticed a "Murai Asahi Seimen" noodle case stacked inside the restaurant "Robata Yui" next to "Ramen Mankai" along the old Ome Kaido. I was curious if a robatayaki restaurant was serving ramen, so I decided to visit again during lunchtime. To my surprise, the outdoor sign boldly displayed the menu of "Chuka Soba Nishino"! It turns out that they are collaborating during lunchtime (11:30-14:00) to offer Nishino's menu. I was told that they have been doing this since April last year. The restaurant was spacious with an open kitchen surrounded by a counter seating for over 20 people. The menu was similar to Nishino's with slight differences in prices and offerings. I ordered the "Wonton Sansho Soba" for ¥980, which was served promptly. The soup was clear with a white soy sauce base and a refined aroma of sansho pepper. The flavor was rich and well-balanced, with a hint of spiciness from the sansho pepper. The noodles were firm and flavorful, complementing the soup perfectly. The pork shoulder chashu and meat wontons were delicious, and the overall experience was fantastic.

I've always wanted to go to this restaurant. The lively atmosphere inside can be seen from the outside. I didn't make a reservation and just walked in. It seemed busy, but after a short wait, we were seated. The menu was full of delicious options that go well with alcohol, making it hard to decide. When you're not sure where to go, this place is a safe bet. I also want to visit the neighboring restaurant, Robata Kakeru, which seems to be similar.

The restaurant opened 5 minutes before, but they still welcomed us warmly. We were seated at the counter seats with a view of the kitchen, and there were also a few table seats towards the back. They had a wide selection of drinks, especially various types of sake, and the staff recommended us based on our preferences. The main dish was grilled food, but they also had a variety of side dishes that were all delicious. While the image of grilled food is often fish or meat, they also had many vegetable options that were tasty.

A cost-effective restaurant. The staff were entertaining, the atmosphere was lively, and even though we ate a lot, the cost per person was around 4,000 yen, which was great value. I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area. The alcohol seemed a bit weak, so I didn't get drunk at all. (laughs) The seating was a bit tight, but considering the food, prices, and service, it was worth it.

Visited with 2 people. The interior of the restaurant was clean and tidy. We sat at the counter with seats close to each other. The atmosphere was suitable for a date. The staff were friendly and always attentive to our needs. The bill for 2 people was around 10,000 yen, so it's not a cheap place, but the food was all good quality with no disappointments - the fish, meat, and vegetables were all delicious.

The appetizer sashimi and all dishes were delicious! Especially the negitoro roll and nira tamago were amazing! Since it's counter seating only, it's better to go with a small group rather than a large one. I would love to visit again!

Located at Shinjuku Nishiguchi, this lively izakaya specializes in robatayaki and has a bustling atmosphere with a counter seating setup. The place has a casual feel but offers high-quality dishes. It's a delight to receive sashimi as an appetizer! It's right next to Robatayaki Shou, isn't it? Highly recommended are the potato salad and chicken sukiyaki! The potato salad topped with a soft-boiled egg is absolutely delicious. It's great to warm it up in a mini pot! Mixing the tender chicken with the egg is simply irresistible. I now understand why it's so popular! I can't wait to go back! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

In a spacious and open atmosphere at Shinjuku Nishiguchi, this restaurant offers a selection of grilled dishes using carefully selected vegetables, meat, and seafood. The meal starts with a sashimi platter as a complimentary dish, raising expectations. ★ Sake Kasu Panna Cotta 528 yen - A sophisticated dessert with the perfect flavor of sake kasu. ★ Nakaochi Aburi 780 yen - A surprisingly generous portion of nakaochi at this price. The grilled fatty meat was delicious! The bone-in parts made it a great accompaniment to drinks. ★ Grilled Whole Mackerel 780 yen - A crispy grilled whole mackerel. The grated daikon radish helps balance out the fish oil, making it a perfect pairing with alcohol. ★ Grilled Squid Skewers 2 pieces 480 yen - Grilled squid skewers with mayonnaise. Even without seasoning, you can enjoy the richness of the seafood. ★ Kumamoto-grown Long Eggplant 680 yen - The grilled vegetables here are fresh and juicy! The simple seasoning allows for gentle flavor variations with the grated ginger and bonito flakes provided. ★ Roasted Duck Meat

Rostan Shou's sister store, so there's no way it could go wrong haha. Consistently delicious! The amount of middle cuts is impressive, with a variety of fish making it even tastier. The sweetness of the onions grilled over charcoal is amazing. Grilled over charcoal gives a healthy feeling without guilt. I think I'll come back to conquer the menu from the beginning. Thank you for the feast! ✨

In Shinjuku, you can enjoy not only delicious grilled meat but also sashimi appetizers and even fried horse mackerel! The anticipation rises as you watch the fresh ingredients being grilled right in front of you at the counter. The scallops are cooked with butter on charcoal right before your eyes, adding a fun touch to the experience. The menu is extensive and the atmosphere is casual, making it a great place to enjoy a variety of dishes.

The restaurant was almost full when I arrived at 19:00. It's best to make a reservation. Each dish is delicious! The teppanyaki cooked right in front of you creates an exciting atmosphere. With a variety of menu options, it's perfect for gatherings with friends or company drinking parties.

I felt like eating robatayaki, so I went to Robata Yui! I originally planned to go to Robata Sho, but it was full so I ended up here. However, I was not disappointed at all! The restaurant was full, the food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly! The shiitake mushrooms and sea bream robatayaki were amazing! Also, the venison deer meat had no gamey taste and was very tasty!

"My friend muttered, 'I'm not quite satisfied with just a little drink...' as he had been drinking at twice my pace just a moment ago. His ability to hold his liquor remains unchanged. As for me, I'm also feeling a little hungry. We headed towards Shinjuku Station and tried to find a restaurant, but most of them were closing soon. Just as we were about to give up in front of the station, we spotted a street-side shop with its lights still on. The spacious entrance and counter extending to the back were welcoming, making it easy for even a group of two women to enter, so we decided on the spot. We ordered some snacks along with our drinks. The potato salad had various toppings, and this time we added some salmon roe. It was a tough decision with so many combinations available. The red eggplant was thick and tender. Despite its substantial volume, I devoured it in no time. What was interesting was the sake. There were plenty of options and a description of each one's characteristics, making it enjoyable for a beginner like me to compare the flavors. The staff (and my drinking buddy next to me) recommended various options, allowing me to take a step into the unfamiliar world of sake. Since they were open late into the night, we found a reliable dining option near Shinjuku. Thank you for the delicious meal."

Located a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station, this restaurant, Rokko Shotaro, is a street-level store on the floor above Rokko Shoten, an affiliated store. I visited late at night and found out that they are open until 4 am. Despite the late hour, there were still customers. I enjoyed some charcoal-grilled dishes with sake, including grilled yam and my favorite grilled red eggplant. The yam had a crunchy texture and a soy sauce glaze, while the thick red eggplant was juicy and tasted almost like meat. I will definitely visit again if I have the chance.

I was interested in this restaurant series and visited for the first time. I couldn't make a reservation for 7:00 PM, so I arrived early at 5:30 PM. The atmosphere was like a half-terrace, and it feels great on sunny days. The food was well-prepared and delicious. I would like to visit again, but it seems to be quite busy, so dropping in casually might be difficult.

Located about 5 minutes from Shinjuku Nishiguchi, behind Odakyu HALC, is a tavern called "Raamen Horiuchi Shinjuku Honten." It is situated next to "Raamen Manki" and is a sister store of "Robata Shou." While Robata Shou is a solid robatayaki restaurant, this place has a more casual and populist atmosphere. It feels like a more casual version of Robata Shou. They offer a wide range of dishes, mainly focusing on seafood. The drink menu is also extensive. The prices are more casual compared to the other places. Just like Robata Shou, they generously serve sashimi as the otoshi. I'll definitely come back here again.

I made a reservation the day before and could only book a table starting from 9pm, so this was my second choice. Even so, the restaurant was fully booked until the last train. It's all counter seats, so it's recommended for groups of 2 or 3 people. If you're in a large group, you probably won't be able to hear each other. The food looked delicious, but I couldn't order much because I was already full. However, the labels on the sake bottles were quite unique. We had sashimi for the appetizer, grilled shiitake mushrooms, sake lees cream cheese, and each person had about 2 glasses of sake.

You can enjoy a variety of dishes such as fresh fish and izakaya staples at this restaurant. The appetizer was surprisingly ham! It was so delicious that I wondered if it was really just an appetizer. The snack menu items are around 500 yen, which is a great deal. The Grilled Long Yam with Soy Sauce for 450 yen was so crispy and the soy sauce was a perfect match. The grilled dishes range from 600 to 1500 yen and are all delicious, so I am very satisfied!

I heard that the graduates of a famous hospitality group are running this place, so I expected energetic service when I visited. I was surprised by the complimentary sashimi appetizer. I also ordered the "Donko Shiitake" which I had tried elsewhere. The hospitality was top-notch and the lively atmosphere of the restaurant gave me a boost of energy. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I ordered a shirasu bowl and grilled broccoli! The shirasu bowl was very refreshing, with no fishy taste and very delicious. The broccoli had a strong flavor and was just right with a good salty taste. The appetizer was a sashimi platter with 3 types of fish for 400 yen. I thought it was a bit pricey, but it was also delicious.

This shop located about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station has the following features: ① Open after 9pm even during the pandemic! ② The counter is extremely long, said to be the longest in Tokyo according to online information. ③ While the meat dishes are delicious, the fish dishes are particularly tasty. The grilled rice ball was incredibly delicious in terms of flavor, grilling, and compatibility with the egg. However, despite arriving at the reserved time, we had to wait 20 minutes and the dishes took a while to arrive, giving the impression that the operation was not running smoothly. Nevertheless, the taste is incredibly delicious, making it a recommended spot for a date. The recommended items include: bonito tataki, ham cutlet, simmered tripe, Japanese-style fish carpaccio, cilantro fish carpaccio, potato salad, tongue, tripe, heart, pickled mackerel with karasumi, sweet potato with butter, red snapper, lotus root with chili soy sauce, and moon-viewing grilled rice ball.
