Today I went with a friend to this restaurant that specializes in Mogami duck from Yamagata. The main store is in Naka-Meguro, with branches in Fukuoka and Azabu-Juban. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building, next to a famous sushi restaurant. When you open the door, you are greeted by a pleasant atmosphere. This is something you wouldn't know until you actually enter, haha. This time, we had reserved a course in advance: - Prefix course 3,980 yen - Sapporo Red Star bottled beer 600 yen You can choose from 4 types of appetizers and specialty dishes each. Since we were here, we decided to order different items. - Amuse-bouche: A trio of appetizers. Fig, duck prosciutto roll, duck liver in a pastry shell, and cream cheese sandwich with turnip (couldn't quite catch the name). All delicious, but the duck liver in the pastry shell was exceptional. The paste of duck liver inside was so flavorful! The crispy pastry shell was also great. - Choice of appetizers: We chose stir-fried greens and drooling duck. The stir-fried greens were okay. The drooling duck was moist, slow-cooked meat with a spicy and tangy sauce, and cilantro that paired perfectly. - Duck specialties: We chose duck breast meat tartare and straw-grilled duck. These were irresistible! The duck meat grilled with straw had a fragrant smokiness, with juicy and tender thigh meat and flavorful breast meat. The duck breast meat tartare was served rare... and it was an exceptional dish with plenty of green onions. - Main course: Full-service duck sukiyaki. The fatty part of the duck was grilled to extract the oil, then the eggplant, white leeks, and duck salt meatballs were slowly grilled in the flavorful oil. The rich flavor of the duck was irresistible. The duck meat included both thigh and breast. Grilling it enhanced its firmness and sealed-in flavor, offering a different taste from the straw-grilled and tartare dishes. We enjoyed it with a rich egg yolk and red wine-based sauce. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the specialty Mogami duck from Yamagata. It had no unpleasant smell, and its flavor and slight sweetness were distinctive. The restaurant's ambiance was also great, making it a recommended spot for a date. I highly recommend it for duck lovers. * Visit rating: 3.56

First time at Azabu-Juban. It's the second branch of a shop located in Naka-Meguro. As soon as you enter, you feel a hidden gem vibe that boosts your excitement. Opening the door, you'll find a wine cellar with over 50 bottles. The interior has a few counter seats at the open kitchen and a few table seats, creating a cozy atmosphere. This time, I enjoyed the premium duck and wine pairing! The course included duck sukiyaki as the main dish, along with straw-grilled duck and yukke. The appetizers were Peteran tofu asparagus and cauliflower salad with truffle dressing, duck prosciutto wrapped melon, and duck bacon chiffon cake with liver mousse inside. The appetizers were paired with Chateau de L'Oreal, a delightful combination. Next was the grilled duck, with leg meat at the back and breast meat at the front, served with ginger sauce and Borgo Vinyards Chardonnay. The duck tartare with sea urchin caviar was paired with Corte Sandalda Agate. The main dish was duck sukiyaki paired with Corina del Pernione Leper. It was a masterpiece that highlighted the excellence of the premium duck, complemented by the wine's acidity. The truffle egg rice at the end, using the sukiyaki sauce, was incredibly delicious. The dessert, featuring Holy Basil tea almond jelly and canele, was both stylish and tasty. Every dish had juicy and flavorful meat without any greasiness or overpowering smell, making it a delightful dining experience. This hidden gem in Azabu-Juban is perfect for a date night! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a duck cuisine specialty restaurant located just a few minutes' walk from Azabu-Juban Station. I had previously visited "Akasaka Na Camo guro" in Akasaka Mitsuke Station, which is part of the same series and found it to be very delicious, so I decided to visit this one as well. I made a reservation for Sunday at 6:00 pm and when I arrived, the restaurant was almost full. Located in the basement of a building, it has a hidden gem feel and may not be easy to find at first glance, making it a popular spot. The Tenban Mubakuro here is characterized by incorporating Chinese flavors. This time, I tried the popular "Duck Sukiyaki Course" for ¥6,000, along with a wine pairing of 5 glasses for ¥4,500. The cuisine at this bistro-chic restaurant allows you to enjoy wine pairings, with appetizers like century egg tofu and desserts like almond jelly, incorporating Chinese ingredients throughout. I highly recommend upgrading to the "Uni Caviar Yukke" from the duck breast meat tataki for an additional ¥1,100, as it looks luxurious and tastes delicious, increasing satisfaction. For those who enjoy alcohol, I recommend the wine pairing. I was able to enjoy a wide range of wines from Japanese to Georgian. They serve one glass per dish at a steady pace, and the amount poured was enough that I couldn't keep up at times (laughs). The location in Azabu-Juban, combined with the course and wine pairing, allows you to enjoy it for just over 10,000 yen, which is quite good. There are counter and table seats available, but I recommend the counter seats as you can watch the finishing touches at the live kitchen in front of you. Perfect for a special meal with your loved ones. Below is the content of the course and wine pairing I had this time for your reference. [Course Menu] - Appetizer 5-piece assortment: Century egg tofu, duck heart confit, duck prosciutto, duck liver paste in a shell, chiffon cake with Gouda cheese sauce - Straw-grilled duck: duck breast meat, duck thigh meat - Choice of duck specialty: duck thigh meat tataki or Uni Caviar Yukke (+¥1,100) - Duck sukiyaki: duck breast meat, duck thigh meat - Choice of finale: duck ramen, Kamo Manga, Truffle TKG (+¥1500) - Uni Caviar Yukke bowl (¥+1650) - I chose duck ramen and Truffle TKG to share with my partner. - Dessert 3-piece assortment: almond jelly, mango sherbet, canele [Wine Pairing] - Zao Woody Farm/Popowa Powale - Shalauri Cellars/Rkatsiteli 2019 - Katsunuma Brewery/Aruga Blanca Clarezza 2021 - Urlar/Pinot Noir 2020 - Casa Defra/Amarone Della Valpolicella 2017

I went with my friend and we enjoyed a mixed appetizer platter with wine, which was a perfect start to our meal. The sukiyaki sauce was not too heavy and tasted great with the food. The restaurant was spacious and cozy. I would like to visit their Meguro branch as well!

Tucked away in a back alley in Azabu-Juban, on the basement second floor of a building, is "Juban Mukamoguro." The name of this restaurant may be difficult to pronounce at first glance, but as the name suggests, it specializes in duck meat using the finest Mogami ducks from Okura Village, Miyagi Prefecture. In a cozy hideaway atmosphere, I ordered the "Classic Duck Sukiyaki Course." It started with a colorful assortment of five appetizers, each offering a unique and delightful flavor. The smoky aroma of the straw-grilled duck danced on my palate, and the uni caviar yukhoe I chose next exuded a sense of luxury. Especially the duck sukiyaki, where the staff skillfully grilled each piece of duck meat in an iron pot right in front of me, was like watching a show. The perfect grilling brought out the tenderness and deep flavor of the duck meat. For the finale, I chose the Truffle TKG. They generously sliced truffles in front of me, and their aroma and flavor spread throughout my mouth. The dessert trio at the end also added a satisfying touch of sweetness. If you want to fully savor duck meat at "Juban Mukamoguro," this place is definitely recommended for a delightful evening.

I don't know how many times I've visited this place, but when I'm unsure about where to eat or when I want to take someone somewhere nice, I always go to Mudori Kuro. I enjoy bringing people here and hearing them say, "Let's have some duck!" The menu at this location is personally more to my liking. I had the classic duck sukiyaki paired with wine. Duck is healthy and delicious, whether raw or grilled. Duck meat has a low melting point, so it's easy on the stomach, and the sweet and savory sauce paired with the yukke, with egg and sea urchin, was a "clean plate" situation. Grilling each ingredient individually for the duck sukiyaki and then enjoying it is a special experience. The truffle egg over rice at the end, especially when topped with the sauce from the duck sukiyaki, is incredibly delicious. The duck dashi in the Chinese soba is light yet flavorful. This restaurant in Azabujuban offers a stylish atmosphere and great value for a meal.

I met a university classmate for lunch after 3 years, and my friend made a reservation through Ichigeki. The course was 3000 yen and the content was fantastic. From the first appetizer to the dim sum, sweet and sour pork, Chinese noodles, and dessert, each menu had its own unique taste and I was very satisfied. The dim sum in particular was delicious. There was also a wide selection of drinks, and they have a focus on wine, so it was nice to be able to choose from 4 types of red and white wines by the glass. If you're looking for a lunch meeting in Azabu-Juban, I highly recommend this place!

I visited JUUBAN MUKAMO KURO, a restaurant located in Azabu JUUBAN. It is located in the beautiful nature of Oyama Village, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture, which is selected as one of the most beautiful villages in Japan. The restaurant offers a pairing of Oyama duck dishes and wine. The entrance has a hidden feel, but the inside is very clean and has a calm atmosphere. They only offer course meals. The menu I had included: - Assorted 5 appetizers - Straw-grilled duck - Sea urchin and caviar yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) - Duck sukiyaki with seasonal vegetables - Duck ramen - Truffle egg rice - Assorted 3 desserts Everything was delicious! The duck meat was of high quality and delicious. The yukhoe with sea urchin and caviar was luxurious and appetizing. The duck sukiyaki was cooked right in front of us and looked very tempting. The egg rice with truffle shaved in front of us had an amazing aroma and was incredibly luxurious. The wine pairings were all delicious, and the generosity of the staff who poured generously made the experience very comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place, so please come and try the exquisite duck dishes.

"Mabu Jūban" is a restaurant located on the basement floor of a building that houses popular eateries such as "Takiya" and "Hatano Yoshiki" (sushi). They serve duck dishes using a brand of duck called "Mogami duck" from Yamagata Prefecture. The entrance to the restaurant is hidden and may be a bit confusing to find, but once inside, you'll be surprised by the spacious interior with various seating options. I opted for the "Classic Duck Sukiyaki Course" with a wine pairing of 6 varieties. The meal started with an amuse-bouche featuring duck confit, duck breast prosciutto, and more. The highlight was the straw-grilled duck, which was cooked to perfection and paired well with the wine. The "Sea urchin caviar yukhoe" was a luxurious dish with rich flavors. The main course of duck sukiyaki was prepared tableside by the staff and served with truffle-topped egg over rice. The course also included a dessert trio. The duck sukiyaki course priced at 6,000 yen was a great value considering the quality and experience. I highly recommend trying it with the wine pairing!"

Whether it's Western or Chinese cuisine, the fun part is the creative twists on enjoying duck dishes. This place in Nakameguro has a more casual vibe compared to other duck restaurants. It seems perfect for a casual night out with friends rather than a formal business dinner. And the fact that they serve ramen as a finishing touch is a nice bonus.

If you want to take someone somewhere stylish and delicious, this is the place. Duck is delicious whether grilled or in yukhoe, but the egg yolk is also very tasty. The truffle egg rice and uni on top of the yukhoe are rich and very good. With duck suki, you can have everything grilled, giving a sense of superiority. The drinks are a bit pricey, but it's a great restaurant that can be a good option when going out for a meal.

It's a shop in Nakameguro, but I prefer the one in Azabu-Juban because the interior is more spacious and I like it. I forgot to take a picture of the main dish, the duck Genghis Khan, but it's very generous and great value for money. It's also great that you can bring your own wine with a reasonable corkage fee.

This is a delicious and elegant restaurant. I had been curious about it for a while, but I didn't know that the underground space in this building had such a high ceiling and spacious area, which was quite innovative. The duck dishes are meticulously prepared and seasoned. Each dish is carefully crafted, creating a diverse harmony of flavors. The dedication to quality and pursuit of excellence in every detail should be commended. I recommend visiting the restaurant in person to experience it for yourself.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very nice. They use the finest duck called "Most Kamon". It reads the same from top to bottom as well, "Mogamiga mo". The meat is rich in flavor, has a good texture, and the fatty parts do not feel too greasy. There is a veteran sommelier who taught me a lot about wine.

I visited using a support ticket from Makuake. The atmosphere of the stylish store in Azabu-Juban and the customers were very nice. The carefully prepared premium duck has a rich flavor and texture. The meal started with five appetizers, all meticulously prepared. The duck tataki was delicious and refreshing. The vinegar duck, a twist on sweet and sour pork, had a strong flavor. The soy sauce duck ramen was light and easy to eat. The menu offers a variety of well-thought-out dishes and types of duck, including duck sukiyaki. This stylish restaurant is perfect for a fancy outing. I look forward to trying more new dishes and tickets in the future.

I tried a course I applied for on Makuake. The appetizer consisted of a delicious combination of century egg tofu (mousse?) and classic liver paste in a monaka. The classics are always the best. The melon and duck, as well as the asparagus and cauliflower salad, were also good. The bacon chiffon cake with pineapple sauce didn't stand out much to me, it was more about the pineapple sauce. The main dish was vinegar duck, with duck loin, meatballs, and black vinegar sauce. It was tasty, but the sauce was strong, so it might be best to not use too much of it. Bread was served, but it was small, so it didn't really go well with the sauce. For dessert, we chose between TKG and yukke-don, my wife and I each chose one and shared. The TKG had a hint of truffle flavor which was tasty, but I felt like it could use a bit more truffle. The yukke-don had plenty of duck and sea urchin, with each bite alternating between the two. We finished with holy basil tea. We ended up ordering additional items for dessert, so the total cost ended up being almost double the original course. My wife didn't eat much, so I ended up eating most of the dessert and was quite full. Next time, I won't opt for the trial course on Makuake as it wasn't very filling. The regular menu is a bit pricey compared to other places in Nakameguro, so I might just go there instead. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is nice, so perhaps the distance is the only issue.

I enjoyed a course with wine pairing featuring delicious Yamagata's Mogami duck. The main focus was on American wines. The appetizer platter included duck prosciutto, which was a first for me! The liver mousse with a cute duck imprint in the middle was delightful. I got to enjoy two types of Mogami duck straw-grilled breast and leg meat. The dumplings filled with duck meat were flavorful. The seared duck leg meat had a strong umami flavor and a satisfying texture, paired perfectly with the refreshing sauce. The vinegar duck dish had a rich sauce that complemented the red wine well. The Chinese noodle soup with duck broth was rich and had just the right amount of oiliness. The dessert was delicious.

The best duck in Japan, the most famous and delicious in appearance and taste, perfect for a date ❤️ Located in the upscale residential area of Azabu-Juban, a gourmet town! In such a place, there is a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious duck dishes with great cost performance. I went there and enjoyed Nakamoguro's duck dishes, known for their dedication to quality! The dishes I had this time were: [Duck Sukiyaki Wine Pairing 9200 yen] Appetizer platter with 5 kinds of duck-based dishes, including duck and shine muscat sandwich, duck paste sandwiched duck manju, delicious straw-grilled duck with a good aroma and rich duck flavor, duck sashimi with plenty of leeks, uni-topped duck yukke with a unique flavor, delicious duck sukiyaki with rich egg and sauce, duck soba with strong duck broth, and a TKG with plenty of truffle on top. 【Azabu-Juban No.10 Duck Kuro @ Azabu-Juban】A hidden gem restaurant that combines duck, Chinese cuisine, and wine quietly nestled underground in Azabu-Juban. Here, you can enjoy the "Mogami Duck" raised by a contracted farmer from Okura Village, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture. While it is the second branch of Na Camoguro, a French-based restaurant in Nakameguro, this establishment offers fusion duck dishes with a Chinese twist. As you descend underground, you are greeted by a rustic iron door and a small sign. Upon opening the heavy door, you will find a high-ceilinged, wood-themed interior that exudes a calm atmosphere. Truly a hidden gem. The open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs prepare the dishes while enjoying the food and drinks. ◇ Duck Sukiyaki Course + Wine Pairing ◇ (〇: Wine / ◆: Dish) 〇 Cremant de Loire ◆ Assorted 5 appetizers: Duck bacon chiffon cake, asparagus and cauliflower salad, century egg tofu, foie gras mousse in a bun, duck prosciutto and melon First, the assorted appetizers. The chiffon cake with pineapple sauce, the salad with truffle Caesar dressing, the century egg tofu, the foie gras mousse, and the duck prosciutto with melon all offer unique and delicious flavors. As a fan of century eggs, I particularly enjoyed the century egg tofu. The combination of century egg, tofu, and cream cheese in a paste form provides a rich and flavorful experience. The foie gras mousse in a bun and the duck prosciutto with melon were also delightful, offering a different kind of deliciousness. 〇 Bourgogne Vignerons Chardonnay ◆ Straw-grilled duck: Duck breast and thigh with straw aroma Next, the straw-grilled duck featuring duck breast and thigh, each offering a delicious taste as you chew. Personally, I preferred the juicier thigh meat. It's also enjoyable with the ginger sauce. 〇 Corte Sant'Alda Agathe ◆ Choice of duck delicacies: Duck thigh meat tartare with dried tangerine peel flavor (cilantro), sea urchin caviar yukhoe As there were two of us, we ordered two dishes to share. The tartare with cilantro and green onion was a unique combination that worked well, offering a delicious taste. The duck thigh meat yukhoe with sea urchin, caviar, and egg was undeniably delicious. The rich egg, yukhoe, sea urchin, and caviar combined to create a harmonious blend of land and sea flavors, making it very tasty. 〇 Wines of Substance Pinot Noir ◆ Duck suki to enjoy with seasonal vegetables The main dish arrives, where each person gets their own pot cooked by the staff. The sizzling sound and enticing aroma make it irresistible. The vegetables absorbing the duck fat are also delicious, especially the baby corn. The duck meat itself is tender, juicy, and flavorful, making it an outstanding dish. Don't forget to enjoy the duck fat that was initially laid out. The lightly sweet fatty meat is incredibly delicious. ◆ Finale: Duck Chinese noodles, truffle egg over rice In addition to "Kamomangai" and "Sea urchin caviar yukhoe bowl," we chose these two dishes. The Chinese noodles had a delicious broth, and despite being quite full, we couldn't help but finish it. The truffle egg over rice was also fantastic. Truffle is shaved in front of you, and the dish is finished with the sauce used for the duck suki. The truffle aroma, creamy egg texture, and the flavor of duck all blend together, making it irresistible. ◆ Dessert trio: Mango sherbet, canele, almond tofu A trio of desserts featuring mango sherbet, canele, and almond tofu. Dessert ==========

"Na Camo guro" is a restaurant that serves their own brand of domestic duck raised in a contract duck farm in Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture. Their specialty is the "Mogami duck," which is raised in the harsh cold of the snowy mountains of Mogami District. The duck has a delicious, light fat that pairs well with wine. The course I had included 6 dishes like grilled duck and 5 wine pairings. The meal started with a selection of 5 appetizers, followed by grilled duck breast and leg with ginger anchovy sauce, and a choice between duck sashimi or duck breast meat with sea urchin caviar. The highlight was the duck sukiyaki cooked in front of us. The meal ended with options like truffle egg rice or sea urchin caviar beef bowl. The dessert platter included almond tofu, black sugar canele, and mango ice cream. The ambiance was lively, and the staff, including the sommelier, were engaging. The wine selection was impressive, and we even ended up opening another bottle of red wine. Overall, "Na Camo guro" is a charming restaurant with delicious food and a great wine selection.

The second branch of Na Camoguro in Nakameguro, called "Mukamoguro," has a stylish name. They offer delicious duck dishes and wines that pair well with the food in a calm atmosphere. The most beautiful ducks, carefully raised in Oguni Village, Yamagata Prefecture, are served here. They offer a Duck Sukiyaki course with wine pairing, including appetizers, straw-grilled duck, choice duck dishes, seasonal vegetables with duck sukiyaki, dessert, and more. The dishes include a variety of duck appetizers, straw-grilled duck, choice duck dishes, duck sukiyaki with seasonal vegetables, and delicious desserts. The duck dishes are made with premium Oguni duck, known for its tender and flavorful meat. The meal ends with two options for a finishing dish: duck ramen or truffle egg rice. Overall, the meal showcases the delicious and unique flavors of Oguni duck.
