Visited on April 20, 2023, around 12:25 PM. The restaurant is located about a 4-minute walk from Shinagawa Station, towards the Konan Exit, in a densely populated area of eateries near the station. During lunchtime, the popularity of the restaurant is evident as there is even a tent set up for bento sales in the vacant lot next to the shop. Shinagawa seems to have an imbalance between the number of workers and eateries, with a lack of supply compared to the demand for food. Even including convenience stores, the options seem overwhelmingly limited. As a solo diner, I was directed to the second-floor seating area since the counter seats on the first floor were full. The narrow staircase to the second floor could be challenging for larger individuals to pass through. The second floor also mainly consisted of counter seats. At the time of my review, the restaurant had 49 reviews with an average rating of 3.06. There were many customers present, and the staff was also numerous and bustling. Finally, in mid-April of 2023, the restaurant began selling eel dishes. The eel bowl was priced at 890 yen (tax included) and the eel and beef bowl at 1,050 yen (tax included). While the eel bowl was affordable, it felt a bit empty without enough rice, and I wished for more rice like in a beef bowl. Compared to last year when the eel bowl was 850 yen and the eel and beef bowl was 950 yen, the prices had increased somewhat. Additionally, the special set menu for the eel bowl and eel and beef bowl had disappeared. I ordered the "Eel and Beef 1,050 yen (tax included)" and "Miso Soup and Pickles Set 150 yen (tax included)." Orders were placed using the tablet device on the table. I noticed many customers adding toppings like cheese to their beef bowls. Surprisingly, very few customers ordered side dishes like miso soup and pickles. Given the many businesspeople in suits, I expected more side dish orders. The food was served within 5 minutes, and the eel and beef dish had the familiar appearance. The portion seemed similar to previous visits. Among major beef bowl chain restaurants, this place seemed to offer the least volume. The "Miso Soup and Pickles Set 150 yen (tax included)" was average. The price had increased by about 10% compared to last year, which was understandable. My total bill for the day was 1,200 yen. Thank you for the meal. Revisited on April 20, 2023. Visited in the morning around 8:20 AM. I had the "Tamagokake Gohan Breakfast 290 yen (tax included)." The price had increased from 250 yen to 280 yen at the end of 2022, and further to 290 yen in March of this year. While beef bowl price hikes make headlines, other menu items' price increases go unnoticed. The significant rise in egg prices justified this increase. I appreciated the side dish that came with the meal. My total bill for the day was 290 yen. Thank you for the meal.

It is located about a 5-minute walk from JR Shinagawa Station. I wanted to have a quick lunch as I was short on time, so I went to Sukiya. It's been a while since I've been to a beef bowl restaurant. The regular beef bowl costs 400 yen (tax included). It's still very cheap. The taste hasn't changed since the old days. I finished it in about 2 minutes. When you're short on time and looking for a quick and cheap meal, beef bowl is still the best choice.

[Revisit after 61 months] After thinking that I would never come back again, 5 years have passed and I revisited. These past 5 years have been a turning point in my life. Reflecting on it, I line up for lunchtime amidst the queue. It's the peak of lunchtime, but the staff are working hard to keep the restaurant running smoothly. I was hoping waiting would be a bit enjoyable, but I was led to the second floor. Of course, I was squeezed into a cramped space with shared seating. I decided to splurge on the new seasonal menu, the Ma La Hot Pot Set for 890 yen, after 5 years. It took a while for the dish to arrive compared to a beef bowl. The plate had solid fuel burning, so it would be a disaster if an accident occurred in this crowded place. I poured the Ma La sauce and tried it. It had a unique flavor more than just spicy. It can be considered a good level of Ma La. It might even be quite delicious. Perhaps the 5 years have brought about some evolution. Surprisingly, there was a decent amount of meat, but I actually wished there were more vegetables. Maybe this is what they mean by "learning from the past to create something new." [Overview] A chain restaurant serving beef bowls located near Shinagawa Station's Konan Exit. The lunchtime rush here is extraordinary. They even sell bento boxes in the neighboring space, but it's still not enough to keep up with the demand... If you want to see Minato Ward's lunch refugees, this Konan Exit area might be a typical example.

Visited on November 13, 2022 (Sunday) around 8:05 am. The shop is located about a 4-minute walk from Shinagawa Station on the JR lines, in an area with many restaurants near the Minato exit. I had planned to visit because a new breakfast menu had been introduced at Fuji Soba, but I couldn't find the new menu on the ticket machine, so I had to give up. The new menu is half kakiage tempura + egg soba, priced at 360 yen, so it's not particularly new. Maybe it's a limited menu for the Akabane Ekimae branch. Just before I posted this review, the shop had 41 reviews and an average rating of 3.05. There were 4 customers before me and 4 customers after me. The shop was run by two male staff members. There are about 10 counter seats on the first floor, and the second floor mainly has 27 table seats, but they were not in use at this time. I sat at the counter on the first floor. I placed my order using the tablet device on the table and paid at the register after eating. Sukiya's breakfast sets used to include dishes like tamagokake gohan, salmon breakfast, and mackerel breakfast, but this month they introduced a new bacon and egg set! I wonder if Sukiya has a hot plate in the kitchen? I couldn't hear the sound of frying eggs, so maybe they use a microwave? It's a mystery. If they have a hot plate, offering dishes like yakiniku set like Matsuya might be popular among young people. The food was served in 3 minutes. Eggs can't be cooked in 3 minutes, right? (laughs) The bacon is homemade. It's interesting that they use the term "homemade" instead of "in-house made." The thick-cut bacon came in 2 slices, which provided a satisfying meal. The side salad was lettuce. In Zensho Group's breakfasts, most dishes don't come with vegetables, so having this option was nice and appreciated. There were various dressings on the table, which was also nice and appreciated. The fried egg was cooked just right. I couldn't add extra eggs, so I was even more curious about their cooking method. The seasonal hijiki simmered dish in the small bowl was burdock. Recently, many young people seem to be satisfied with just rice and a main dish. But for old folks like me born in the Showa era, having miso soup, pickles, and a small side dish makes us even happier. The breakfast had a good portion size and I was satisfied. The price of 390 yen was also good. It seems that beef bowl chain restaurants are trying to attract customers for breakfast. When I checked their website, I found out that this product will be available from November 16. So why were they selling it on this day? It's really strange. Maybe it's a menu limited to certain stores? The total bill for this day was 390 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I had a beef bowl set (400 yen) and some okra (150 yen) on top, which I sometimes like to eat. It was delicious. Next time, I'll go for the affordable lunch set. The restaurant is mostly filled with male office workers. The service is quick, so I can also take my time to enjoy a cup of coffee. This is nice too.

Visited around 4:45 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The restaurant is located a 3-minute walk from Shinagawa Station on various lines, in a densely packed area of eateries near Shinagawa Konan Exit. Based on my previous review, the restaurant had an average rating of 3.05 points at the time of my visit. I do not expect my review to change the rating. The establishment only had counter seats on the first floor, although there were also table seats on the second floor. I chose a seat at the counter towards the left. I placed my order using the tablet device on the table, opting for the "Unagi Gyudon 950 yen (tax included)" instead of the recommended "Unadon 850 yen (tax included)". I also added the "Shijimi Soup and Oshinko Set 100 yen (tax included)" which is discounted when ordering an eel-related item. The food arrived in about 3-4 minutes after ordering. I personally believe that the eel at Sukiya is the most delicious among major gyudon chains. It is said that the weight of the eel in their unadon ranks in the order of Yoshinoya, Matsuya, Nakau, and Sukiya. Although Sukiya's eel has the least volume, it is considered the tastiest. The eel was tender, fluffy, and did not have any strange odors. Despite the smaller portion, the addition of gyudon toppings ensures that there is enough rice. The combination of eel and gyudon in the "Unagi Gyudon" dish was well thought out. The gaps between the eel were filled with gyudon toppings. The unadon is priced at 850 yen, but I found the Unagi Gyudon for 100 yen more to be a better deal. The shijimi soup contained plenty of clams, offering a satisfying experience compared to regular miso soup. The oshinko was average and did not leave a lasting impression. I was supposed to visit Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture for a week starting today, but due to various circumstances, I had to cancel. I will inform the townspeople and plan to visit for the autumn festival in October. The total bill for the day was 1,050 yen. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is located about a 3-minute walk from the Konan exit of Shinagawa Station on various lines, in an area densely populated with eateries in front of the station. It had been four years since my last visit. I was in Shinagawa on a Sunday evening because I have a night shift at a client's place. I will be working long hours until Monday morning, so I won't be able to eat until Monday afternoon, so let's eat early. Shinagawa Konan exit on a Sunday evening is very quiet and feels lonely. In such times, chain restaurants like gyudon are much appreciated. Just before I posted this review, the restaurant had 38 reviews and an average rating of 3.05. There were 3 customers before me and 2 after me. The restaurant was being run by one male staff member. Orders were placed through a tablet device on the table, and customers had to self-service their orders and then pay at the counter. I thought about what to eat, but it seemed like a hassle, so I touched "Regular Gyudon 950 yen (tax included)" and "Clam Soup and Pickles Set 100 yen (tax included)." The "Miso Soup and Pickles Set" was 150 yen (tax included), so the clam soup was a better deal. However, this comparison is limited to gyudon and gyudon with eel. For other menu items like gyudon, the clam soup would be more expensive. The food was served in about 3 minutes. The regular gyudon, pickles, and clam soup were served as a set. It was nice that a packet of sansho pepper was included. The eel at Sukiya was plump and tender. It was safe to eat without any strange smell, although it's not the same as an eel specialty store. The rice is not visible because the gyudon covers it, and the portion is substantial. I thought the gyudon with eel for 100 yen more was a great deal compared to the regular gyudon for 850 yen. The clam soup had a lot of clams in it. It's a miso soup that's great for sake drinkers. The pickles were just average. After eating quickly, I headed off to my night shift! As expected, it turned into a chaotic scene. Instead of a meal break, I found myself surrounded by more than 10 people. "Is it ready yet? How many more minutes until it's done?" "The big shot will arrive in 30 minutes!" "Doesn't this display look strange?" Um, on that day, I was actually at work helping out with something outside my area of expertise. While silently screaming in my head, I did my best. The total bill for that day was 1,050 yen. Thank you for the meal.

Shinagawa Station, Konan Exit, is a famous spot where salarymen walk like a school of fish, often featured in the news. It wasn't always like this, but there are quite a few more dining options now. When visiting Sukiya for lunch, the tight space is top-notch, with elbows easily bumping into each other. Orders are made through a touch panel, with foreign staff managing the hall, so ordering can be a bit of a challenge. Prices seem high at first glance, but perhaps this is just the setting of a city center. The taste, however, is excellent, with the beef soaked in sauce satisfying the taste buds.

There were some items on the menu that were covered, so I ordered the salmon breakfast. I was disappointed that a menu I had tried before was not available. By reducing the amount of rice, the price became less than a coin. I enjoyed the salmon with ginger and seaweed added. The miso soup was hot and delicious.

Today's solo lunch was Yoshinoya's "Tender Chicken Curry (680 yen)". I saw the commercial with Satomi Ishihara, so I had to try it. If Satomi is eating it, then it must be the perfect meal for girls! I don't always eat the same food as male office workers. I had the same meal as Satomi, a girls' meal. The chicken was tender and the curry was not too spicy, easy to eat. It was delicious.

I visited a restaurant alone at 1 o'clock on a weekday. I wanted to eat soba, but Fuji Soba in front of Shinagawa Station was full of salarymen, so I didn't try it. I don't like standing and eating, I prefer to sit down. Standing and eating is like an event for me. I wasn't in the mood for Western food, so I went to Sukiya instead. I ordered the same menu as last time when I forgot my phone and couldn't take a photo. I ordered the Garlic Sesame Beef Bowl (460 yen) and Okra (130 yen). The staff seemed to be Chinese, providing serious and diligent service following the manual. Keep up the good work!

I visited the restaurant for lunch on Wednesday around 1 pm. There are seats on the first and second floors, with the second floor being larger and having more seats. I ordered the Gyudon (regular size) lunch set for 500 yen including tax. Compared to other Gyudon chain restaurants, this Gyudon had a slightly stronger soy sauce flavor. The set also included a salad where you can choose from several dressings, miso soup, and a raw egg. It was a great value menu that highlighted the strengths of Gyudon chain restaurants.

Good evening. This is Cammy. When the world started to become difficult due to the coronavirus issue, I had to go out for an urgent delivery. This was before the concept of remote work was even imaginable. After finishing explaining about the machine at the contract site, I felt relieved and my stomach started growling. I was glad to be out of the office. I found a Sukiya restaurant and ordered a regular beef bowl. I also changed the miso soup to my favorite pork soup. It's a great deal because it's filled with lots of vegetables. If I had to choose between an egg or pickles, I would choose pickles. It was very hearty and satisfying.

I usually don't post about places like Sukiya, but this time they have a special menu so I decided to share. I heard that Sukiya has a secret menu item called King Gyudon, so I went to the store right away. When I asked the staff if they had the King Gyudon, they said it was available. The secret menu King Gyudon costs 1140 yen and comes with salad and miso soup. The King Gyudon has 6 times the amount of meat compared to the regular size, and about 3 times the amount of rice. The regular size has 85g of meat and 260g of rice, while the King size has 510g of meat and 780g of rice. It looks huge. With 6 times the amount of meat, there is a lot of meat. However, with only 3 times the amount of rice, the rice seems insufficient. I heard that they also have King size options for curry and Negitoro Donburi as part of their secret menu.

I bought the takeout special of the beef and rice bowl with okonomiyaki toppings for 650 yen. The combination of beef bowl and okonomiyaki toppings is not bad. The taste is more like okonomiyaki than a beef bowl. It felt like a new genre.

I bought a takeout bento with mackerel in it, along with a beef bowl with mackerel. It cost 500 yen. The mackerel was small but it was nice to have fish. The beef bowl had a consistent taste, and it was good to have it after a long time. There is also a bento with salmon in it, which looks interesting. I might try that next time.

Dinner was from the Sukiya Shinagawa Higashi store in the hotel, with a beef bowl set, an extra-large okra beef bowl set, and a potato salad to go. The okra in the okra beef bowl was fresh and delicious with bonito flakes on top, and it had a light flavor. The potato salad is always a must-order for me. Aim to conquer all the Sukiya menu items. I had the Mixed Okra and Egg Rice Breakfast for 340 yen. It consists of okra with a soft-boiled egg on top, and it comes with a packet of bonito flakes and soy sauce for the egg. It also includes a small beef side dish. This is a great menu item from Sukiya, making for a fulfilling morning. The challenge level before a health check is 670 Kcal.

I ordered the standard size beef bowl. It used to be very soupy, but this time I tried to be a little conscious of calories. Beef bowl is a great value for money, fills you up, and is a grateful dish. I didn't add miso soup and pickles to my set because they are high in salt, but I am satisfied.
