Today is a holiday Saturday. Let's go eat tonkatsu! I thought about going to the famous hundred tonkatsu restaurants in Chiba, but it's too far. Since peetantansan also recently visited this place and gave positive feedback, I decided to visit this restaurant. Tonkatsu Ouryu! It's a restaurant that opened after the closure of OoGo, which used to be one of the hundred top tonkatsu restaurants. I arrived at the restaurant around 6 pm. The back seats seemed quite full with families, but I was promptly seated at a solo table in the front. I looked at the menu and decided to go with the premium loin tonkatsu 150g set meal for ¥2,420 (¥1,860 for just the tonkatsu) and also ordered the maguro toro katsu from Yamazuki for ¥600! Tea and pickles arrived quickly. About 15 minutes later, the premium loin tonkatsu was served. Soon after, the maguro toro katsu was also served. I started with the maguro toro katsu since I didn't want it to overcook. It was cut in half, one side with tartar sauce and the other with soy sauce. It was even more delicious than when I had it during the OoGo era. As expected of toro katsu, it was very tender. Then, I tried the premium loin tonkatsu as it is. The coating had a nice flavor. What surprised me the most was how tender the meat was. It was so tender, almost melting in my mouth. I had never had such a tender loin katsu with red meat before. I tried it with salt and sauce from the middle to the right. The left side, which had more fat, I enjoyed with grated ponzu sauce. The sauce wasn't really to my liking, but the fat part with ponzu sauce was incredibly delicious! It was so delicious that I finished it in no time. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the miso soup was full of ingredients with the tasty flavor of pork fat. I added sesame oil and shichimi spice on top, and it was perfect! The pickles were tasty, and the pickled plum on the table was pleasantly sour. The set meal was perfect in every way! The atmosphere of the coating was slightly different from the OoGo era, but it was very delicious! The service was also great (they paid attention to refills, etc.), and I would definitely like to visit again. Next time, I want to try the premium fillet tonkatsu. The only downside is that it's a bit hard to visit due to the location. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited this restaurant because I heard they use meat from Kinryuzan and tuna from Yamako. I tried the premium pork cutlet (200g for 2970 yen) and the tuna toro cutlet (650 yen). When I took a bite, I could slightly smell the pork, which made it delicious. The meat was too firm, making it hard to chew smoothly in some parts, giving it a meaty texture. The coating was a bit flat at the bottom and tended to peel off easily. However, it didn't seem to be just an issue of poor oil drainage. I wondered if they didn't use beaten eggs or used only a small amount, as there was no yellow part between the coating and the meat commonly found in tonkatsu. Maybe the meat juices were moistening the coating? Anyway, I think the tuna doesn't need to be fried. I would be happy if they served it as sashimi instead. "You can eat Yamako's tuna sashimi at a tonkatsu restaurant!" Yes! That sounds more appealing to me. If I have the chance, I would like to try the beef cutlet made with Kinryuzan's meat.

I had a 150-gram tonkatsu for lunch and it was very delicious. This was my third visit to Ouryu and I am always impressed by the consistently delicious taste. For those with a big appetite, I think the 200-gram option would be better. Next time, I would like to try the fried chicken.

I finished a meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Shirokanedai and was looking for a place for lunch when I came across this restaurant! The reviews were great, so I was excited to visit. The lunch was very reasonably priced, and I ordered the 200g hirekatsu set. It arrived in about 10 minutes. While it wasn't made with brand pork, the way it was cooked was perfect, with no unpleasant smell. The breading was a bit soggy and came off, which was a bit disappointing. I tried eating it with salt first, then with salt and mustard, and finally with sauce and mustard. I recommend starting with the sauce. The miso soup was nostalgic and had lots of ingredients with a nice sesame oil on the table. The service was warm and friendly, and they even offered refills of cabbage. It felt like a great local tonkatsu restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

The tonkatsu set meal with 200g of pork cutlet, macaroni cutlet, bite-sized tenderloin cutlet, and shrimp fry added up to 3550 yen. The tonkatsu is thick yet cheap, but tough. The breading easily falls off. The trend of pale-colored fried foods lacks the crispy texture and feels soggy, which I personally cannot enjoy. However, the pork was cooked properly. The macaroni cutlet was delicious served rare with a light soy sauce. I think soy sauce goes better with it than sauce or tartar sauce. I do not recommend the shrimp fry, as it had a raw smell and a mushy texture, which did not suit my taste at all. You can choose between prawn (600 yen) and regular shrimp (280 yen). The tenderloin was tasty, and I believe it pairs well with the pale-colored fried foods. The miso soup had slices of fatty pork floating on the surface, resembling ramen broth, which was too much for elderly customers to eat. The staff were all friendly and proactive in offering cabbage refills. You can only get one refill of cabbage, but they bring it generously on a separate plate, which I appreciate.

Lunchtime【Tabelog TOP5000】■Tonkatsu set meal (150g) ¥1,300 (tax included)■Yamako's tuna toro katsu (1 piece) ¥650 (tax included)After watching a TV program featuring a comparison between hamburger and tonkatsu, I suddenly felt a strong craving for both, so I decided to eat hamburger the next day and tonkatsu the day after. I visited a popular tonkatsu restaurant called "Tonkatsu Ouryu" in Shirokanetakanawa, where they also serve Yamako's tuna katsu. I arrived around 13:15 on the weekend. Although lunch service ends at 14:00, there didn't seem to be a last order time, as customers were still able to enter the restaurant close to 14:00. The interior layout was a bit unusual, with half of the restaurant having single tables facing the kitchen, almost like counter seats. The lunch menu was the same on weekends as on weekdays, which was convenient. I ordered the "Tonkatsu set meal (150g)" and the "Yamako's tuna toro katsu." They arrived in 12-13 minutes. The tonkatsu for lunch uses carefully selected domestic pork instead of a specific brand. The batter is light in color, cooked at a low temperature, and the pork loin has a nice red color. I was a bit concerned about the softness and peeling of the batter, but overall, it was satisfactory for a lunch tonkatsu. The other item I wanted to try, the "tuna toro katsu," came with homemade tartar sauce and white soy sauce. Personally, I felt it could have been a bit more rare. I also realized that the taste and iron content of tuna are more pronounced in raw form. I would like to visit again at night to try their specialty, tonkatsu made with branded pork.

Follow me on Instagram! (^^)/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tokyo_messi The tonkatsu set lunch uses domestically sourced pork. Fresh corn oil is used for frying, and breadcrumbs with reduced sugar content are used. The crispy coating lacked a bit of crunch, but the meat was flavorful and overall satisfying. The shrimp fry was a pleasant surprise, with a crispy texture and a strong shrimp aroma. The tartar sauce had a light and tangy flavor, likely to enhance the shrimp's aroma. The menchi-katsu had a light coating and a strong meaty flavor. The cabbage is free for refills, and the homemade dressing has a refreshing taste that complements the finely shredded cabbage well. The portions were generous, and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere filled with kindness. Perhaps the restaurant's true specialty lies in their dinner menu. I hope you enjoy this review focusing on the lunch experience.

The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Shirokanetakanawa Station, in a residential area. Inside, there are table seats and a tatami room in the back. The lunch special is a tonkatsu set for 1300 yen (150g) and it's very filling. The tonkatsu is thick and tender, with no greasiness, so it shouldn't cause any stomach discomfort. You can enjoy it with sauce or coarse salt. Be careful not to pour sauce directly on the tonkatsu if you want to eat it with salt. I made that mistake and couldn't enjoy it with salt.

The nearest station is Shirokane Takanawa on the Namboku Line, about a 7-minute walk away. Despite the upscale image associated with Shirokane, this area is actually more of a residential neighborhood along the Shibuya River. There is a famous yakiniku restaurant nearby. I had the tonkatsu set meal (200g) for 1450 yen including tax, which seemed like a good deal for Shirokane. The tonkatsu was really delicious, with a thin crispy coating and juicy meat inside. The tonkatsu sauce was unique and flavorful, similar to the popular white tonkatsu. The cabbage was free for one refill, with a tasty dressing available. The rice was average, but could be improved. The miso soup had generous ingredients and the suggestion to add sesame oil enhanced the flavor. The pickles were lightly seasoned and flavorful. The restaurant had a spacious interior with both regular tables and raised tatami seating. It seemed like a good place for drinks at night. I was surprised to find out that the restaurant had changed ownership from Daigo to Ouryu, expanding the menu to include more fried dishes and Western-style options. I look forward to revisiting and hope the food will become even better.

"I was looking for a delicious tonkatsu and stumbled upon something that looked really good. It was called Yamako. I was curious because Yamako is known for tuna, but this seemed to be a different kind of delicious. They had Yamako's tuna katsu on the menu. I decided to go check it out right away. I went on a weekday night, and the restaurant was located right next to Kinryuzan. I thought if I went 30 minutes before closing, it would be empty, but there were already 2 people waiting outside. It's a popular place. I was seated in a small raised area in the back, and I ordered the "Special Premium Pork Tonkatsu Set 150g for 2420 yen," along with shrimp fry for 600 yen and Yamako's tuna katsu for 600 yen. After about 15 minutes, the dishes arrived - white tonkatsu and white shrimp fry. The tonkatsu was tender and flavorful. It was even softer than the famous Narikura pork tonkatsu. The shrimp fry was also tasty. As for Yamako's tuna katsu, it was indeed delicious, perfectly cooked and rare, but I couldn't help but wonder if having tuna katsu at a tonkatsu restaurant was the best way to enjoy it. It felt more like a marketing strategy. In the end, I couldn't help but admire the fact that Yamako's tuna had made its way into the tonkatsu industry, showcasing the greatness of Yamako and Mr. Yamaguchi Yukitaka, the Tuna King. Truly impressive! Yamako."

I was able to make a reservation even on the same day. It's a bit of a walk from the nearest Shirokane-Takanawa station, but worth it. The meat was very tender and the frying was excellent. The miso soup that came with the set meal was delicious with a home-cooked taste. The attentiveness of the staff, such as providing cabbage salad and warm tea, was also good. I will definitely go back.

About 10 minutes from Shirokanetakanawa Station, near Gonohashi. I visited Ouryu for the first time, a place I had been curious about for a while. It's located in a somewhat calm corner, not quite a shopping street. However, I noticed people lining up, so I made a reservation just in case. There was only one person in line before opening, but soon the place was full. I ordered the pork loin cutlet for ¥1200, which came with cabbage, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The thick cutlet was surprisingly tender and very juicy! The thin batter was not greasy, but rather light. It was so light that I finished it in no time. The Wagyu minced cutlet that my family ordered was meaty and allowed us to enjoy the flavor of Wagyu beef. Both had a light-colored batter that was quite impressive. I'm no expert, but I think they might use low-temperature cooking. The light color of the batter differs from the usual deep-fried cutlets, but as a result, you can enjoy a moist and juicy thick cut of meat. It felt like a mature cutlet...?! Besides the taste, the attentive care of the staff was wonderful. They prepared hot tea for us, recommended a cabbage refill at the perfect timing, and always paid attention to our needs. The warm miso soup that came with the set meal was surprisingly full of ingredients, showing the thoughtfulness of the restaurant. The quality for the price was surprisingly high✨ Despite being a bit far from any station, it's understandable why this place is so popular. I still want to try other menu items like tuna cutlet, shrimp fry, and fried chicken, so I hope to visit again. Thank you for the meal✨

First visit. Contrary to my expectations, I was able to enter without waiting. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly, and ordering was very smooth. I ordered the "Pork Loin Set (200g)" which is only available during lunchtime. The tonkatsu that came out after about 10 minutes was delicious, with sweet meat fat that paired well with the salt. Truly a top-notch restaurant. I was impressed.

I wanted to eat delicious tonkatsu, so I was torn between tonkatsu.jp in a magazine and this place I originally wanted to go to. The result was... I made the right choice! The restaurant is located in a residential area a short walk from the station. It was a Saturday and I was able to get in without waiting. They only had pork loin for lunch, no fillet. I ordered the pork loin. There was a grate under the meat to let the oil drain, but the breading still ended up soggy. It's a shame.

A popular tonkatsu restaurant in Shirogane-Takanawa recently. At night, you can enjoy Matsusaka pork and Chateaubriand katsu from Kinryuzan. We decided to visit spontaneously as our plans changed. We ordered a variety of dishes to share between the two of us. Starting with the fried chicken, it had a thin coating and was quite oily, with a strong flavor. Then we tried the special sirloin and special fillet cutlets. The special fillet was thickly cut, while the special sirloin had more fat in the thinner parts. Both were delicious, but the coating tended to come off easily, separating from the meat completely. The meat was tasty, but the katsu itself was not perfect. They provided different ways to eat it, such as with salt, sauce, grated radish, or dipping sauce, offering a refreshing taste. The beef katsu, on the other hand, was outstanding! It was pricey but delicious, with no coating separation issues. You can enjoy it with wasabi soy sauce or grated radish. If I were to recommend one dish, it would be the beef katsu. It was a delicious meal, thank you!

Located in a quiet area down a narrow street in Ebisu, about a 7-8 minute walk from Shirokanetakanawa, is a tonkatsu restaurant. I visited on a Saturday night around 5:30 pm. Although it wasn't originally planned, I called ahead and they had seats available. Inside, there is a counter at the entrance and table seating towards the back on the right. The menu offers a variety of tonkatsu and side dishes, with set courses available as well. I tried the premium loin katsu, premium fillet katsu, beef katsu, and chicken karaage. The beef katsu, made from a Chateaubriand cut used by a nearby famous yakiniku restaurant, was a luxurious dish priced at 7200 yen. It requires advance reservation, but they may accommodate last-minute requests if you call ahead. While the beef katsu was delicious, I personally found the tonkatsu to be average, as I prefer a crispier coating that sticks to the meat. They also offer options like maguro toro katsu and ebi fry, using high-quality ingredients for a variety of choices. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

A popular tonkatsu restaurant in Shirokane, located near the yakiniku restaurant Kinryuzan. I visited for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant has a clean and tidy interior with table seating. There is almost no smell of oil, and it is very clean. The tonkatsu set meal (150g) costs 1200 yen. The pork, wrapped in coarse and fluffy breadcrumbs, is about 1.5cm thick and moist and tender. It is very juicy. The miso soup has thick slices of daikon, which is a nice touch. The cabbage is thinly sliced with a light texture, and the soy-based dressing has a mild acidity that is enjoyable. The quality of the food for this price is shocking. Thank you for the meal.

I heard that the famous Tonkatsu restaurant, previously known as "Daigo" in Ginza, has changed its name and moved to a nearby location. I visited for the first time and found that the exterior wasn't particularly impressive, but the renovated interior had a spacious and luxurious atmosphere. I ordered the top-quality pork cutlet set meal with hot sake for 3,520 yen. The tonkatsu had a cream-colored coating, giving the impression that it was fried slowly at a low temperature. However, the coating easily peeled off when I inserted my chopsticks, which was disappointing. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium doneness. I first tried a piece with salt, and it was quite juicy. The next piece I tried with sauce, and it was delicious, making the rice taste even better. The miso soup was packed with vegetables, and the cabbage was crunchy. Although the prices were a bit high due to the location, I was satisfied with my dinner.

The cabbage dressing is amazing! It has a strong sesame oil flavor and is delicious. The tonkatsu has juicy meat! The maguro katsu is also tasty! Although the batter was a bit soggy. #Ouryu #Shirogane #Tonkatsu. A delicious tonkatsu restaurant in Shirogane! The highlight is not only the tonkatsu, but also the maguro katsu from "Yamayuki". My favorite part was the dressing for the cabbage. It's probably sesame oil-based. With this dressing, you can eat as much cabbage as you want. It was a great neighborhood lunch. #ShiroganeGourmet
