A real hit!! It's a popular place where you probably won't get in without a reservation, so I made a reservation and visited! The horse sashimi was really delicious, and the minced cutlet had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior!! The smoked dish was also very tasty, affordable, and I want to go back again!!

I made a reservation and visited on Wednesday night. Today they are fully booked with reservations, seems quite popular. I ordered horse sashimi, yukhoe, salad, and rolled omelette. Many people seem to be using the course menu. The taste is decent, but the meat is a bit thin. When the restaurant gets crowded, it takes quite a while for the dishes to be served. The seats at the back are overly air-conditioned and it gets extremely cold. In the summer, wearing something warm is a must.

I came to this restaurant in search of delicious horse sashimi. It was around 8:30 PM on a Sunday and the place was full, but I was able to get a table after a short wait. The owner seemed to be handling everything alone, which looked quite challenging. I ordered a platter of horse sashimi and horse liver sashimi. Everything was delicious, but the liver sashimi was the best. It had no unpleasant smell, a sweet taste, and was very tasty. The total cost for the amount in the photo was around 1800 yen, which was a great value. I will definitely come back here when I crave horse liver again.

Company year-end party at the Bakauma Okachimachi branch! Horse sashimi was the main dish, along with fried chicken, duck meatball skewers, horse meat sausage, horse meat croquette, horse meat Caesar salad. I forgot to take a photo of the horse meat shabu-shabu, but all the horse meat dishes were delicious and light, making it a very enjoyable meal. Thank you for the feast!

In a quiet area near a park, there is a horse meat specialty restaurant surrounded by izakayas and yakitori shops. They offer various dishes like horse meat, appetizers, and fried rice, providing different ways to enjoy. The price for the horse meat might be a bit high, but overall it's worth a try.

I had the horse meat wiener set meal for 800 yen at a horse meat bar located in the backstreet direction from Naka-Okachimachi Station. This lunch spot is part of a chain with a main store in Shinjuku and other locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The location of this Okachimachi store is in a slightly deep corner with neighboring quaint yakitori, sushi, and Islamic curry shops. The two-story wooden building and staircase add to the atmosphere. The horse meat wiener had a concentrated deliciousness similar to salami or carpaccio, without a strong taste. This is my first time posting about a wiener set meal, maybe since Matsuya. Unfortunately, I couldn't post about the old-fashioned set meal restaurant in Akihabara, which has since closed down. Personally, having white rice with wieners for breakfast on a day off makes me feel incredibly happy. That's the kind of mood I was in.

Today's lunch was at this horse meat specialty restaurant for the first time. I had the lean horse meat set meal for 1,000 yen. I initially planned to order the recommended Yukke bowl, but changed my order last minute when I saw the menu inside with "Shop's most popular‼︎" written on it. The lean horse sashimi was a bit difficult to eat because it was slightly frozen and stuck together, but the taste was absolutely perfect! Eating horse sashimi with garlic soy sauce in the middle of the day was amazing.

During the tough times of the pandemic, I visited this restaurant for lunch. I wanted to try horse meat, so I ordered it with sweet soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. The horse meat had a rich flavor and was delicious. It seemed to be locally sourced from Kumamoto prefecture. They also had a selection of Japanese sake displayed. COVID-19 measures included shortened operating hours, open windows, and hand sanitizer stations. Despite it being lunchtime, the restaurant was quiet and empty, which was quite sad. Note: The entrance is hard to find, and there is a steep staircase to climb, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

I visited at night. The horse sashimi menu was all very delicious. The food menu is all tasty. I don't think there's a single miss. It was really delicious. The drink menu felt a bit light, but maybe that's just me (laughs). They also have a lunch menu. I'd like to visit again.

Today's lunch was a tough decision between meat or fish... But I wanted something hearty, not just sashimi but not as heavy as meat. Just when I was thinking I needed to make up my mind, I spotted a sign. It said "You can drink from lunchtime", how nice. I feel like having a drink now. Oh, they also serve lunch here. What's this? Horse sashimi. Bingo! Not fish stew, but sashimi with a refreshing taste despite being meat. This is it. This is what my stomach was craving today. Slices of semi-thawed horse meat neatly arranged, with sliced onions as a side. Oh no, garlic! I have a meeting this evening! Horse sashimi is usually served with ginger and garlic. Can't have it without... Maybe just a little bit is okay, right? Let's just go with that. Horse sashimi from Kyushu area, with a thick, sweet soy sauce and sliced onions. Is it really okay to have such a delicious meal from lunchtime? Alright, I'm definitely coming back for dinner. I want to eat a hearty meal with lots of garlic! The best lunch. Thank you for the meal!

Horse meat lean meat set meal for 1,000 yen
I visited here yesterday, but it was still being prepared. It seems like they are open today, so I decided to visit again. It's 11:40 am, my first visit in 2 years. Last time, I had their recommended Yukke bowl set meal, so this time I went for a slightly more expensive option, the most popular menu item in the restaurant, the horse meat lean meat set meal. I placed my order and it was served in about 10 minutes. The redness of the horse sashimi looks beautiful. It comes with grated ginger and grated garlic, but I opted for just the ginger considering the after-meal breath. The onion slices are surprisingly delicious. When eaten with the horse sashimi, it's just irresistible. Next time, I would like to try the "solo drinking set" for the same price, which seems enjoyable for an evening drink. I enjoyed my meal today as well.
Visited for lunch on September 13, 2019.

The horse sashimi here is too good! I recently went to other horse sashimi restaurants, but I prefer this place! The horse sashimi I had elsewhere was cold and tough! It depends on personal preference! The alcohol is also reasonably priced, so it's worth a visit! Around 10,000 yen for two people! However, it can be a bit noisy!

The food was delicious and the service was great!! There are more and more horse meat specialty shops opening up, but I couldn't find anything like what I had here. If I have the chance, I would love to visit again!!

JR Okachimachi Station is about a 5-minute walk away, so it's easy to get to. The horse meat tataki bowl was disappointing as the meat was small and not very thick. The taste was average. It seems to be popular for evening parties, as they receive many phone calls. The price of 1000 yen for one sake at Shinsei seems high in this day and age. Visit rating: 3.19
