Jackie Carpas is used as chopsticks to eat rice, which makes the rice taste like meat. I felt like eating sashimi after a long time, so I decided to check out this place that caught my eye. It's a fish store, so naturally there are plenty of fresh fish lined up. The staff is lively and the atmosphere is great! I was a bit overwhelmed by the wide selection of fish, from the classic tuna and salmon to scallops, clams, Isaki, Kochi, Mebaru, and other seasonal fish. There's also eel kabayaki and liver dishes to choose from. After wandering around the store for a while, I spotted the only bonito tataki they had. It looked good and was reasonably priced, so I decided to go for it. It's about 200g per pack, which is quite a good deal compared to tuna. The bright red flesh of the bonito is full of vigor. It has a bit of a raw smell, but I like it. I tried it plain first and could really taste the bonito flavor. The searing gives it a nice aroma too. I decided to experiment with different seasonings like soy sauce, onsen tamago sauce, and even gyoza sauce. Surprisingly, all of them worked well with the bonito. I even discovered that the gyoza sauce, which I had trouble using up, was a perfect match. I wanted to try it with ponzu too, but they were out of stock. I'll definitely buy my sashimi from a fish store from now on. It was a great decision.

I was planning to get takeout from Matsuya, but I ended up changing my mind when I saw this place in front of me. Since it was late, there weren't many items left to choose from, but I was able to get some good items at a reasonable price. "Chutoro and Hamachi Special" included chutoro (medium fatty tuna) and hamachi (yellowtail) nigiri sushi and rolls, which are all my favorites. I also had separate sashimi of bluefin tuna and sea bream, and they were delicious with a nice amount of fat. I wish I had some sake with this meal.
