Ordered cucumber miso, chicken wasabi, and katsu simmer as usual. Wanted something a little extra, so ordered kamaboko. Got a heavenly bowl of tempura as a bonus, and it was incredibly delicious. The tempura melted into the broth, enhancing its already delicious flavor. When dipped in the soba noodles, it was just irresistible! They mentioned that duck will be back in autumn, so I'll have to come back for the duck tempura. Thank you for the meal!

Finally, the summer vacation period is over and the restaurant has reopened. I arrived at 11:30 am, the opening time, and had the large size soba noodles. During the meal, the staff said, "You eat so neatly even though the noodles are thin, thank you as always." It's just a few words, but it's important. The service is smart and polite, the restaurant is clean, it's really a good place. The food was delicious as always, thank you for the meal. On the way back, I bought some sweets in Asakusa and headed home. It's still so hot even though it's September... I think I'll take a nap.

I visited the restaurant around 1 pm on a regular weekday. I ordered the soba noodles, medium size. The restaurant is located near Koma Bridge, just a short walk from Asakusa Station. There were about 4 groups of customers before me, but no one behind me. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with ample distance between tables, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The noodles were thin but had a nice firm texture, and the portion size was just right. The dipping sauce had a rich soy flavor with a hint of sweetness. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Thank you.

I arrived 30 minutes before the opening and was about 15th in line. Managed to get in just in time for the first round of seating. The seating was shared with acrylic dividers. I wanted duck soup soba but they didn't have it due to bird flu concerns, so I ordered chicken soba instead! Also ordered soba-gaki. It was delicious, I wanted more. There was a sign in the store saying they will be closed in August. I'm glad I came without knowing, it was worth it. Thank you for the meal.

In the scorching heat, there was a decent line forming even before the store opened. There were mostly two-seater tables, but the space was sufficient to easily get a seat. The soba had a firm texture and suited my taste. The dipping sauce was on the stronger side, which was just right for me as I only dipped the noodles up to the tip. For those who want to dip generously, it might be a good idea to add some soba water before dipping.笑

Located at a 7-8 minute walk from Asakusa Station, this soba restaurant is situated at the intersection after crossing Komagata Bridge. The owner hails from Kanda Yabusoba. Originally located near Asakusa Street, the restaurant moved to its current location about 10 years ago. I visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am, and when I arrived around 11:40 am, there were four people waiting outside. Surprisingly, the line moved quickly and there wasn't a long wait. The interior has 4-person and 2-person tables, and it is clean and spacious. If you visit as a party of two, you may be seated with another pair. I tried their famous sesame soup soba, while my companion had the namako oroshi soba. The sesame flavor was strong but not overly sweet, with a tangy and refreshing soba broth. The noodles were also delicious with a nice texture. The portion size was on the smaller side, as is common in traditional soba restaurants.

I finally tried the famous YaBusoba at the always crowded Azumabashi. I ordered the Oroshi Soba for 1200 yen. It had coarsely shaved bonito flakes, grated daikon radish, and white sesame seeds. The soba had a good texture, and it was delicious. The sesame flavor was fragrant. The soba seemed to be a high-quality 80% buckwheat soba. The soba-yu (soba cooking water) was served in a copper kettle, adding to the charm of the place. The restaurant was established in 1984, and the owner trained at Kanda YaBusoba. There were some older gentlemen enjoying soba and sake in the afternoon, creating a nice atmosphere.

Recently, I have been on a journey to try out the famous soba restaurants in Edo, known as the Three Great Soba Houses. This time, I visited a shop run by the owner who trained at one of the Three Great Soba Houses, Kan Da Yabusoba. I have visited Nami Ki Yabusoba in the direction of Asakusa and Ichi No Hata Yabusoba, which is no longer around, over 10 years ago, so I hardly remember them. Since Ichi No Hata is no longer there, I can't confirm, but Nami Ki Yabusoba is still there, so I plan to visit again to check it out. I had the "Tenmori" set with Mori Soba (medium) for 2,700 yen including tax. It consisted of two pieces of tempura and Mori Soba. The condiments were good, the soba was quite tasty for early summer, and the rich broth was also good. I'm still in the midst of my training, so I can't say for sure if it had the true essence of Yabusoba. The only downside is that it's a bit on the pricey side. Nevertheless, I plan to come back again to eat. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating soba, so I visited "Azumabashi Yabusoba" restaurant. It took about 5 minutes to walk from Asakusa Station to the edge of Komagatabashi Bridge, and I arrived at the restaurant around 2 pm, as their lunch service ends at 3 pm. At that time, there were 5 customers in the restaurant - 2 pairs of customers and a single person enjoying a lunch drink. The restaurant had 5 tables for 2 people and 2 tables for 4 people. There were 2 staff members. I looked at the menu on the table and decided to order the warm tempura soba, which was not listed under cold soba but the staff kindly offered to make it for me. After 6 minutes, the tempura soba was served with tempura on a plate, soba noodles in a sieve, soba dipping sauce in a soba decanter, grated daikon radish, finely chopped green onions, wasabi, and soba tea in a copper pot. The soba noodles and tempura seemed small at first, but the taste was rich and satisfying. The soba noodles had a unique flavor that became more pronounced as I chewed on them. The dipping sauce was flavorful and not too salty, with a hint of baking soda-like taste that changed instantly. Adding wasabi enhanced the flavor even more. The tempura had a crispy texture, and the small shrimp inside were delicious. The soba tea was also rich and satisfying. In the end, I was very pleased with the meal, and it reminded me of the deliciousness of soba. I look forward to enjoying more soba dishes in the hot season ahead and perhaps trying out their lunch drink menu next time. Thank you for the meal! (^ . ^) /

After the calmness of the coronavirus, I finally went on a trip for the first time in years. Lately, even going out has become a hassle, and I only feel like going to places I really want to go. With the restoration work of Nikko Toshogu Shrine completed, I absolutely wanted to go, and finally made it happen. The last time I visited was decades ago, shortly after moving from Sapporo to Saitama, before the restoration. It felt unsatisfying to just casually travel by car, and I had always wanted to leisurely walk around someday. This time, my wish came true, traveling by train and on foot. Starting from Tobu Railway Asakusa Station, under a clear early summer sky that made me excited. The restaurant my husband had in mind for lunch was closed, so we decided on this place instead (we both love soba noodles). There was no line in front of the restaurant, and we were seated promptly (which was a relief considering the usual long lines and our train schedule). We shared a table with another solo male diner. I had imagined the soba noodles in the "Yamakake Soba" dish to be dipped in a sauce with grated yam, so I was surprised to see the whole bowl filled with grated yam! It was indeed not the usual grated yam soba, but the "Yamakake" style, so this was the correct version. The generous amount of grated yam and noodles made me leave a little bit behind (since we were having an early dinner, I didn't force myself to finish it). I remembered my previous visit, and when I looked at the reviews, I realized it was five years ago! Time flies.

In front of the shop, there were three people waiting. This is a chance! I visited Yabusoba Azumabashi for the first time. Based on reviews, I ordered the Mori Soba (soba noodles served in a bowl of broth) and Katsuni (pork cutlet simmered in sauce). The soba noodles were smooth and had a nice texture. The Katsuni was also flavorful and well-marinated. It was very delicious!

The nearest station is Asakusa Station on the Toei Asakusa Line, an 8-minute walk away. As it's getting hot, I felt like having some sesame soup soba for lunch, so I visited this place. I tend to come here when it gets hot. It's not too far from my home, so if I choose the right time, I can get in without waiting in line, which is nice. I felt like having some pork simmered in soy sauce as well, so I ordered the Sesame Soup Soba (1,000 yen) and the Pork Simmered in Soy Sauce (1,100 yen). The soba was served in about 10 minutes. The soba noodles were firm and had a good texture. The broth had a nice sesame flavor and was refreshing. It's the same delicious soba I enjoyed last year. The pork simmered in soy sauce had fatty meat, not the best quality, but it was delicious with the sweet and savory broth, topped with plenty of beaten egg, seaweed, green onions, and shiso leaves. It's a dish that makes you want some rice. A quick and delicious soba restaurant where you can come and go easily. Thank you for the meal.

One of the top three Edo-style soba noodles is said to be "Sara Soba," "Yabu Soba," and "Sunaba." There are many Yabu Soba restaurants around Asakusa, and there are also several near the Kaminarimon Gate, but I think the best one is located at the foot of Azuma Bridge a little further away. The restaurant has a luxurious and spacious interior, and the large serving size is equivalent to two servings of soba, so it's quite substantial. The soba noodles here are truly worthy of being called one of the top 100 soba restaurants.

At the famous restaurant Yabusoba near Asakusa, I had the mori soba for 1,700 yen. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! I'm curious about the natto soba, so I will definitely go back again! #soba #Azumabashi #Asakusa gourmet #mori soba #Yabusoba #delicious soba broth #want to connect with gourmet lovers #lunch

The other day when I visited Asakusa, I stopped by "Azumabashi Yabusoba" restaurant. The restaurant is located right after crossing Komagatabashi from Asakusa. It was a holiday, so I was prepared to wait if it was crowded, but when I arrived around 1 pm, the restaurant was full but there was no wait, so I got seated after waiting for about 5 minutes. I started with a bottle of beer and "aiyaki" as an appetizer, and while thinking about what soba to order, I enjoyed a moment of bliss. I decided to keep it simple and ordered the "morisoba". The soba was served promptly and when I tasted it, the cold soba had a refreshing texture and a good flavor, with the dipping sauce being just right in terms of not being too spicy or too sweet. Although the portion was a bit large, I finished it all in no time. It was my first visit in a while, and the restaurant was just as good as before. Thank you for the delicious soba. It was a great meal.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on a weekday for lunch. It is conveniently located near Asakusa Station. The exterior has a charming Japanese atmosphere. There were a few customers inside, but we were seated immediately without any wait. We found this highly-rated restaurant on Tabelog. It is listed in the Top 100 Restaurants for 2022. The prices are a bit high, and the portion size of the soba noodles may not be enough for adult men. Upgrading to the large size for 2500 yen gives you two portions, but it still may not be filling enough. The flavor of the soba is good, with a nice aroma. This place may be more suitable for those with a light appetite or adults looking to enjoy soba with some drinks.

After enjoying the lingering flavors of Namiki Yabu Soba, I wanted to visit another highly rated restaurant nearby for one last soba experience in Edo. This time, there was no line to wait in. However, the soba was delicious! The noodles were well-connected, with a refreshing texture, elasticity, and firmness that was simply delicious. The broth was spicy and had a unique flavor. I ordered the Mori Soba (small) for 900 yen and left completely satisfied. Soba truly is a profound and delicious experience.

Near Asakusa, there was a soba restaurant that I had been curious about but hadn't been to yet, so I finally went. Conclusion... I should have gone sooner! I ordered the natto soba after seeing the photos. The staff were friendly, and they recommended mixing it well and then pouring the sauce over it for the best taste. I took a bite right away... so delicious! The texture of the soba, the aroma, the well-mixed natto, green onions, bonito flakes, and seaweed all came together perfectly. It was even better than the famous soba shops in Shinshu... and it's right in the neighborhood! Just perfect. I lined up around 12:30 and got in after about 20 minutes, but by the time I left, there was a sold out sign! It was a close call. I definitely want to eat here again! Next time, I want to try the katsudon too. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I always line up around noon on weekends and there is always a wait for a table. It's best to arrive early to avoid waiting, even if you line up before opening, you may still have to wait for a table. I love the simple warm enoki mushroom soba here. The dashi with bonito flakes is irresistibly delicious. Even though I plan to have cold soba, I always end up ordering the warm soba. It's recommended to visit when you have extra time as it's hard to predict the wait time, especially during lunchtime.
