かるねつばら
On the 2nd floor of Shinjuku Newman, there is a restaurant that serves beef and craft beer. The illustration of a cow and a beer mug is drawn on the storefront and receipts, serving as a symbol that matches the menu content. On this day, I got caught up in shopping and ended up getting late, so I decided to have a light dinner at a random restaurant I passed by. Since it was my first time entering the restaurant, I wasn't sure what menu items were recommended, so my companion and I decided to order small portions to try. Unexpectedly, the food was delicious, so we ended up adding more alcohol. [Ordered Items] ● Andouillette 900 yen tax included, same for the following ● Wagyu hamburger & chicken steak 1450 yen ● Chicken steak 1200 yen ● Heartland draft beer 880 yen ● After Dark Large 1090 yen ● Highball 550 yen x 2 [Food & Drink Impressions] ● Andouillette is a roasted sausage with a country-style stew. There are many types of sausages on the menu, and we chose one with a recommended mark. The moment I took a bite, I couldn't help but admire, "Wow, this is really delicious!" The unique flavor and sweetness of the stew spread in my mouth with each bite. While sausages are a common item to order at other restaurants, this may have been the first time I tried one with stew in it. It's a rare sausage that you can't taste elsewhere. It paired well with beer, and it was a great choice. ● Wagyu hamburger & chicken steak consists of a small, cute-sized hamburger and a large chicken steak on the plate. The seasoning is light and simple. The sauce was drizzled over, but it lacked salt, so we asked for some salt. A plate with salt and pepper was brought to us neatly, giving me the impression that it was a proper restaurant. The chicken steak was average, but the Wagyu hamburger was very delicious. When I think of Wagyu, I imagine a lot of marbled fat that can make you feel heavy, but this one was made only with high-quality lean meat. You can taste the rich flavor of Wagyu meat with each bite. I was so impressed by its deliciousness that I want to try a larger size Wagyu hamburger or steak next time. ● The chicken steak comes in two pieces on the plate. The saltiness is subtle. Unfortunately, the grilled chicken skin was rather soft. This was the case for both the chicken steak and hamburger plates. It lacks the crispy texture that enhances the deliciousness of chicken grilling. However, it has a good portion size, so it may be a good choice if you want to eat healthy. ● After Dark is a craft beer. It is a slightly sweet, full-bodied black beer with a coffee-like aroma and flavor. I don't usually drink beer, so I don't have much knowledge about craft beer, but the sausage and Wagyu were so delicious that I kept drinking, and I chose a heavier beer with a satisfying taste for the second glass. It has no bitterness, so it's like a dessert drink with coffee or cocoa flavors. I liked it, so I would like to try it again. [Impressions of the Restaurant] The restaurant doesn't have walls or partitions, so the sight of people passing through the aisle can be a bit distracting, and it doesn't create a calm atmosphere for dining. The seats are in a counter-like format, so the tables are connected to each other. Also, judging from the way the chicken was grilled, there may be hits and misses depending on the menu items. However, despite all these factors, I felt satisfied with the taste of the food, so it became a restaurant I would like to visit again. It was a pleasant surprise that a restaurant I entered for a light dinner became a favorite that I wanted to visit again. Next time, I would like to try Wagyu, other sausages, and craft beer. By the way, this restaurant is managed by the apparel group JUN. According to the staff, the president loves to eat out, so they opened this restaurant. The seating capacity is small, and it was full due to the location, so I think it's better to make a reservation. There is also Sawamura Bakery nearby.
