Lunch in Akasaka-mitsuke. I was originally aiming for a different champon restaurant, but it happened to be closed. However, I found this place while walking around. They offered champon, plate udon, and motsu champon. I decided to go with motsu champon. The soup was based on motsu nabe, and it was delicious with a hint of sweetness. The motsu was tender and melted in my mouth. There was also a unique spicy condiment on the table with yuzu flavor. Mixing it in added a nice touch to the dish. The pickled vegetables on the side were unexpected but surprisingly tasty. The flavorful soup paired well with the rice. Despite unexpectedly going over 1000 yen, it was a satisfying lunch. Located right near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, this place is on the Esplanade street, just up on the second floor. They offer dishes like plate udon, champon, and chicken nanban. I ordered the large serving of plate udon. It was nice to be able to customize the flavor with Worcestershire sauce and vinegar on the table. The yuzu shichimi (seven spice blend) was also quite delicious.

Located just a 2-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, this Kyushu cuisine specialty restaurant on the 2nd floor of Akasaka Tsuki Sekai Building offers authentic dishes and drinks. We enjoyed various Kyushu specialties such as spicy lotus root, Satsuma-age (similar to tempura), Mongolian barbecue-style horse meat, flying fish sashimi, sand lance sashimi, chicken nanban, flying fish fry, teppanyaki dumplings, and simmered gamé (a Kyushu version of simmered dish). The drink menu includes a wide selection of beer, sake, highball, and various types of shochu made from sweet potatoes or barley. The plate udon we had as a finishing touch was also delicious. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, it was a great place to enjoy unique Kyushu dishes and good drinks.

I visited the restaurant without a reservation on Friday and they welcomed me warmly. They served delicious dishes and drinks, including tasty shochu from Kyushu and a menu not commonly found in Kanto. It made me feel like I was on a business trip in Kyushu.

I usually have the plate udon at Kyushu Han on the 2nd floor of the mixed-use building, but I noticed the motsu-ni champon and ordered it. It's like a champon with motsu-nabe as the finishing touch. The cabbage was cooked well and the boiled vegetables made me feel healthy. It costs 950 yen, and you can get a large portion for an additional 100 yen. I'm always happy to receive chocolate at the checkout. ✨

You can enjoy various Kyushu dishes such as Nagasaki champon and plate udon, as well as Fukuoka motsunabe at this restaurant. Despite the recent price hikes, they provide their dishes for under 1000 yen, showing great service spirit. I ordered champon this time, which was served with plenty of ingredients and noodles. It's a wallet-friendly place where you can eat to your heart's content. I hope this restaurant continues to do well.

The cherry shrimp is a particularly nice accent and can be enjoyed deliciously. Everything is small in portion but with a high price. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I had the Chicken Nanban, which was voluminous and delicious.

I stumbled upon a restaurant in Akasaka. It was a cold day and I was craving champon. They also offer chicken nanban, ginger pork set meals, and plate udon, but I decided to go with the champon for 900 yen. The set meals come with free rice and miso soup refills. The champon was filled with lots of vegetables, which I love. It had shrimp, pork belly, fish cake, all the classic champon ingredients. The thick noodles in the champon were delicious. The soup was also tasty. I love motsu, so I might try the motsu champon for 950 yen next time. I finished every last drop of the soup and my body felt warm, my stomach full. The evening menu also looks appetizing. You can enjoy Kyushu gourmet without even traveling there.

Akasaka-mitsuke Station to Akasaka Station is lined with various restaurants and bars. On this day, I decided to look for a restaurant near Akasaka-mitsuke, instead of my usual preference for places closer to Akasaka. Some places were closed due to the pandemic, and the area didn't feel as lively as usual. However, I spotted a restaurant with "Kyushu cuisine" written on the sign, so I decided to give it a try. That restaurant was "Kyushu Han Akasaka-ten". The name clearly indicated Kyushu cuisine, so I went in without hesitation!
The recommended menu had a delicious lineup that caught my eye! Although I was tempted by the horse meat dish, it seemed a bit extravagant, so I opted for other dishes instead. Here's what I ordered:
- Kyushu Han Highball (600 yen): Cheers! I decided to watch my calorie intake, so I went for the highball. The name "Kyushu Han Highball" on the menu was intriguing, and it was a great choice. The appetizer was a refreshing mozuku vinegar dish.
- Spicy Lotus Root: A lotus root filled with plenty of spicy mustard. This was a perfect snack to enjoy with drinks, with a lingering spicy taste.
- Horse Meat Sashimi Assortment (1,800 yen): A must-try in Kyushu cuisine! The premium fatty and lean horse meat slices were both delicious. They also offer a four-type assortment for 2,500 yen, which seems like a good option.
- Grilled Fatty Mackerel Skewer (500 yen): Next up was mackerel! It was rich in fat with a sweet flavor, and incredibly delicious! Two skewers for 500 yen is a steal.
- Iron Pot Dumplings (1,000 yen): The signature dish of the restaurant! Dumplings in a hot iron pot, with a round shape. This definitely calls for a cold beer. The price of 1,000 yen was reasonable and satisfying!
- Deep-Fried Natto Wrapped in Aburaage (550 yen): Natto wrapped in fried tofu skin. This dish was unexpectedly amazing and incredibly tasty.
Overall, the Kyushu cuisine at this restaurant was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. It's conveniently located near the station, and I'll definitely come back again. Next time, I want to try the horse meat dish!

Lunch at Akasaka. I visited a Kyushu cuisine izakaya located on the 2nd floor of Akasaka Tsuki Sekai Building between Misuji Street and Esplanade Street. The restaurant has table seats and a raised private room. As soon as I sat down, a friendly waitress quickly asked, "What will you have today?" I decided to go with the plate udon priced at 900 yen (tax included). I received a stamp card immediately after ordering, where you get a free lunch after 10 visits. The menu includes plate udon, champon, chicken nanban, ginger pork, and grilled fish set meal. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is decorated with posters of "Kuma Shochu" and "Karatsu Kunchi." After a 5-minute wait, a senior male staff member brought the dish on a large white plate. It was garnished with dried shrimp on top. The dish contained cabbage, carrots, leeks, wood ear mushrooms, squid, red and white fish cakes, satsuma-age, and various vegetables. A thick and sweet sauce was served on the side, and the dried shrimp added a nice aroma and flavor. The noodles were thin and crispy, gradually absorbing the sauce as I ate. Overall, the plate udon exceeded my expectations and was quite delicious. The staff, especially the female waitress, was very energetic. I would like to try the champon next time. It was a surprisingly authentic dish of plate udon. Thank you for the meal.

During lunchtime, I wandered around Akasaka-Mitsuke and found this restaurant. I ordered the ginger pork set meal for 900 yen. The staff, a cheerful and friendly couple, made me feel very welcome. Their energetic service really boosted my motivation for the afternoon. People are indeed important. The ginger pork set meal had generous portions of side dishes and the rice was refillable for free, although the regular portion was already satisfying. The food was served quickly, so even at 900 yen for lunch, this place is great for those who appreciate good service and would be happy to visit every day.

Akasaka Mitsuke Station is about a 2-3 minute walk away. I came here because I was craving for dish udon. I ordered the Nagasaki specialty dish udon for 900 yen. You can smoke here during the day, so it might be tough for non-smokers, but there are also cozy seating areas which are nice. The dish udon had plenty of ingredients and was delicious. The sakura shrimp added a great accent and the sauce was classic. The thin noodles were firm and had a good texture. I would definitely come back again.

I felt a bit cold and wanted something warm, so I decided to try a dish udon at a Kyushu cuisine restaurant in Akasaka. An energetic older lady welcomed me, and I had to pay in advance. They make the dish after you order, so you have to wait for about 5 minutes. The dish was served on a relatively large plate with thin fried noodles covered in a generous amount of sauce, and it was piping hot. The ingredients were typical, but there were also sakura shrimp on top, and the flavor was rich. It tasted even better with vinegar and mustard. Next time, I want to try the Nagasaki champon.

The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and made me feel right at home, allowing me to relax completely. There were many dishes from various regions in Kyushu, which brought back memories of my hometown as I enjoyed my drink. I love spicy lotus root, and I was able to savor it to my heart's content. The horse meat grill was also excellent. I will definitely use this restaurant again when I have another Kyushu-themed gathering. Thank you for the wonderful meal! Yummy yummy!

You can use PayPay here. The rice dishes seem to be popular as they were sold out around 1 pm. The champon had a lot of ingredients.

The power of the female owner! All lunch items for 900 yen each with absolute confidence in taste. Chanpon, plate udon, pork ginger, and nanban-yaki are all delicious! In addition to regular seating, there is also a sunken kotatsu-style seating area that can accommodate up to 25 people for parties. Let's visit again for dinner sometime!

I used the Chanpon lunch set. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I picked out my items at the register, paid, and then was shown to my seat. The service, which seemed to consider the customers as if they were family, made me feel warm inside. I can't say for sure that the Chanpon is authentic, but it was really delicious. The moment I walked in and heard "Is this your first time here? Our food is delicious," I already felt like a winner.
