- Access: 5-minute walk from JR Shibuya Station
- Number of visits: First time
- Purpose: Dinner with a senior colleague
- Overview: A Hakata cuisine restaurant with locations in Shibuya and Nishi-Azabu. Known for their specialty vegetable skewers, motsunabe (tripe hot pot), and a variety of dishes that pair well with alcohol, this restaurant is popular for its stylish menu. The interior is also carefully designed and tends to be popular among young women. Their official website can be found here: https://teyandei.com/?page_id=6278
- Menu: Both course meals and a la carte options are available, offering a wide range of skewers, grilled items, appetizers that go well with alcohol, main dishes like hot pots, and more. On this visit, we ordered various items a la carte, including a variety of skewers, steamed dumplings, sesame amberjack, mentaiko (spicy cod roe) garlic, motsunabe, and green onion salt cream cheese.
- Impression: Each skewer was carefully crafted and delicious, pairing well with alcohol. The scallop wrapped in bacon skewer and the broccoli and cheese skewer were particularly interesting. The most surprising dish of the night was the closing dish after the hot pot. While ramen or risotto is typically served after motsunabe, this restaurant serves a carbonara dish as the finishing touch. By adding cheese and egg yolk to the motsunabe broth, a rich carbonara is created, a magical dish. The Japanese-style carbonara, infused with the flavors of the broth, was exquisite. The variety of drinks, lively atmosphere, and enjoyable experience make me want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
