Yodobashi Camera, a representative facility in Akihabara, has seen its restaurant floor become less crowded recently, resulting in fewer people stopping by to eat. Now, bookstores like Yurindo and Tower Records on the same floor have closed down. So, after doing some shopping at the last Yurindo store, I decided to check out this restaurant that had taken over the tenant space on the restaurant floor.
The name of the restaurant is "Pom no Ki Yodobashi Akiba Store." It's a creative omurice (omelette rice) place, and as a fan of eggs, I naturally love omurice too. I was seated by a staff member and checked out the menu, which had a variety of options from classic omurice to creative omurice dishes.
I noticed that they also had curry-based omurice dishes like "Cheese Curry Sauce Omurice" and "Pom Pork Cutlet Curry Sauce Omurice," as well as Indian curry options like "Butter Chicken Curry Omurice" and "Butter Chicken Curry Omurice with Stracciatella." They even had a "Baked Curry Omurice Doria" on the menu.
After deciding on my order, I had to choose the size of the omurice. They had a visual guide on the table with sizes ranging from SS, S, M, to L. I went with the M size, thinking it was the regular size, but later realized that S was the standard size.
I ordered the "Pom Pork Cutlet Curry Sauce Omurice (M)" for 1,969 yen, which was a hearty and satisfying dish. The omurice island floating in a sea of curry sauce, topped with a substantial pork cutlet, was a delight for someone like me who loves eggs, curry, and meat.
The curry sauce was as expected, and the pork cutlet was larger than I had imagined, providing a good amount of satisfaction. Inside the egg was butter rice, and although they offered options like minced rice, ketchup rice, and Japanese-style rice, it seemed that the curry dishes came with butter rice.
Even though the M size was sufficient for me, I look forward to trying the massive L size next time with a bigger appetite! Thank you for the meal!
