This is my 4th or 5th time visiting this restaurant. The staff are all Myanmar nationals. I haven't been to many high-end sushi restaurants, but the sushi here is always delicious and the service is very polite. Perhaps due to the location, there seem to be many foreign customers visiting the restaurant.

A casual and affordable sushi restaurant in Asakusa with a good cost performance. They also offer appetizers. I recommend the marinated tuna nigiri here, it's really good. The tear rolls are also delicious. For appetizers, the bomb rice crackers are a safe choice. It's a good place to casually enjoy a drink and some snacks at a reasonable price.

"Sushi Reiwa" is run by Myanmar chefs who trained as sushi chefs in Japan for 24 years. Located on the second floor of a mixed-use building, the restaurant has a nostalgic cafe-like interior where you can enjoy authentic and delicious sushi. We visited on a Saturday at 12:30 pm, and the atmosphere was welcoming with bright smiles from the staff. The place had a mix of foreign tourists and what seemed like regular Japanese customers. We decided to order various sushi pieces to try different flavors. We started with a refreshing beer and were impressed by the beautiful and large sushi pieces. Each sushi had delicious fatty fish and perfectly seasoned rice that was fluffy and not too firm. Everything was incredibly delicious. We even ordered more, including the unique and tasty mentaiko roll. The anago sushi was a luxurious treat with its long and fluffy eel. The sweet sauce complemented the rice perfectly. Overall, every sushi we tried was top-notch. We highly recommend this place to friends and family. For reference, our bill for two people, including beer, came to around 8,000 yen. We had a great lunch experience and would definitely visit again for dinner in Asakusa."

I have been wanting to visit this restaurant after reading about it in a book by travel writer Yuji Shimokawa. By chance, a friend who is currently living in Vietnam and visiting Japan mentioned that they wanted to eat sushi, so I suggested this restaurant and we went together. This sushi restaurant is run by a Burmese staff, with two chefs - one cooking and one managing the front of the house. While it is a sushi restaurant, they also offer Burmese dishes. We ordered the tea leaf salad called "Laphet Thoke," which had a crispy texture and was very impressive. We also ordered a sashimi platter, including fresh oysters, red clams, and white fish sperm with ponzu sauce. Everything was incredibly fresh and prepared with the same skill as a Japanese sushi chef. The scallop sashimi was particularly delicious, and the oysters were creamy and rich. The chefs have about 10 years of experience working in Japanese sushi restaurants, so their skills are top-notch. We also tried various sushi rolls like tuna and salmon, which were also very tasty. We enjoyed three types of sake and beer, so the total cost was reasonable considering the quality of the food. Even though I suggested the restaurant, my friend ended up treating me, which I appreciated. Thank you very much.

I saw it on the internet news and had not visited since before COVID. The ratings on Tabelog are good, so I decided to visit after a long time. The staff's attitude of always serving with a smile is highly rated. The business hours on weekends are different, so make sure to check by calling. They are closed from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Maybe there is too much simmered dish?

A sushi restaurant located right in the middle of Asakusa. It is on the second floor with tables all by the window, so you can enjoy the view. The staff are all from Myanmar, but the waiters speak fluent Japanese so there is no stress. We ordered about 5 plates of sashimi and small shrimp tempura as appetizers, and about 7 pieces of nigiri sushi (you can order just one piece). We also had bottled beer, and the total including tax came to 7000 yen. The price went up a bit because we ordered a plate of raw sea urchin for about 2000 yen, but overall I think the sushi is reasonably priced. The sushi itself is authentic and I felt it was on par with Japanese sushi restaurants. Some of the appetizers were a bit questionable. I also regret forgetting to order the rapeseed salad.

A sushi restaurant where Burmese people make sushi and serve customers. It has changed a lot from the time when people were surprised that sushi was made by foreigners! Ever since I heard about it on Ono Setaro's radio show, I have always wanted to go, so this time during my return home, I went with my friends from Laos and Vietnam. When we greeted in Burmese with "Mingalarbar," the kitchen staff also smiled. Not only was the sushi delicious, but the high-quality and reasonably priced snacks, the soft-spoken service, and the Burmese cuisine, especially the tea leaf salad called "Lahpet" were all impressive. Also, the California roll, which is a reverse-imported roll, was surprisingly good. The spicy Asakusa roll is highly recommended. The eel zaku, which I think originally comes from Mie, was also delicious. If I had to point out something, it would be that around 7 o'clock when more customers started coming in, it became quite crowded, so maybe they should consider adding more staff in the kitchen? The surrounding customers were constantly checking if their orders were being processed. As we left, we were thanked in Burmese by the kitchen staff. And we replied, "Chezu-be!"

I arrived at the restaurant before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday for dinner. There were only two groups of customers, so I was able to get a table easily. The tables were spaced out, providing a relaxed dining experience. You can order sushi by the piece, so you can try a variety of different types. It's nice to be able to adjust your order based on how full you are. In addition to sushi, they also offer other dishes like tempura, making it suitable for family meals or company gatherings. Every type of sushi was delicious, especially the fatty tuna and medium fatty tuna. It was a very satisfying dinner! Thank you for the meal! *PayPay is accepted.

I had soba noodles for lunch in a tree-lined alley and decided on sushi for dinner. I extended my walk to Asakusa and searched for a place. I remembered a restaurant I had seen on TV before and decided to go there. It was easy to find "Sushi Reiwa" as I went up the stairs. There were many autographs of celebrities displayed. I heard that this restaurant is run by people from overseas. The interior of the restaurant was not very spacious, and there were some noisy customers who seemed a little drunk. I sat at a table away from them. I ordered the "Reiwa Special Sushi for 3080 yen" as it looked voluminous and delicious on the menu. The first sushi I had was "kazunoko" (herring roe). Hmm... what? Kazunoko was soft? I tried various other sushi, but I couldn't feel the freshness and it didn't suit my taste. After finishing all the sushi, I left the restaurant.

When I thought about eating sushi in Asakusa, I couldn't miss this interesting and cheap sushi restaurant run by Myanmar people. I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't expect it to be full, but there were already several groups of customers inside. There were also non-Japanese customers, probably Myanmar residents in Japan. Since it was Saturday, there was no cheap lunch like on weekdays, so we ordered individual pieces of sushi. I also ordered the tea leaf salad for 935 yen (including tax), which was the first item on the menu. I had tried it at another Myanmar restaurant before and couldn't resist ordering it again. Interestingly, the salad arrived after we finished eating sushi. Maybe the sushi-making area and the side dish preparation area are separate? It feels a bit strange for someone used to Japanese restaurants. The tea leaf salad was served in a small plate and had a good amount of beans (fried peas?), making it a satisfying snack. It's not something Japanese people would find off-putting because of the tea, and it could be slightly adjusted to suit Japanese izakayas. The sushi I ordered, marinated tuna for 132 yen, cured mackerel for 156 yen each, and medium fatty tuna for 220 yen, were not extremely cheap but had thick toppings and were enjoyable to eat. The friendly service, with staff occasionally engaging in conversation, was a pleasant change from upscale sushi restaurants. The seared cured mackerel that surprised me last time was still well-seared and brought a smile to my face.

The best cost performance❣️ and delicious❣️ Originally supposed to be closed on Tuesdays, but they were open for the holiday as well, as indicated on their Facebook page, so I decided to visit for lunch. Not only is the cost performance great, but it is also a wonderful sushi restaurant where the sushi is made by a Myanmar chef. I had heard about it before, but it was just a rumor... I imagined it to be a small shop, but it exceeded my expectations with a bright and spacious interior. The staff are all cheerful and it used to be a cafe. I ordered a drink first, and then tried their famous Raedon for ¥850. Raedon is topped with seared cheese, salmon, negitoro, scallop, tamago, and tobiko, with plenty of ingredients. It was so delicious that I wanted to order more. I also tried the Nigiri lunch set for ¥1,100, which comes with a small salad and miso soup. This sushi restaurant is definitely worth coming back to. I will definitely be a repeat customer.Visited for lunch on February 23, 2021.

The staff are all from overseas, like Myanmar, but they are really friendly and kind. I'm giving a score of 3.5 + support. The sushi is delicious and cheap! Even though they have raised their prices since opening, the quality of the sushi at this price is amazing. Sometimes there are disappointing pieces, but it's forgivable. I've eaten and drank to my heart's content and still spent over 5000 yen. This is one of the best value sushi restaurants in Asakusa, along with Hinatomaru. Just writing about it makes me want to go back again.

Intersection where Orange Street and Yanagi Koji in Asakusa meet. There used to be a cafe called "Bunshichi" where I visited a few times for young rakugo performances, but when I passed by the front of the store after a long time (my second time in Asakusa this year), it had changed to a "sushi restaurant". I had been drinking lightly elsewhere, but decided to stop by and grab some sushi to take home, so I jumped into the second-floor store. The interior of the store is basically the same as it was during the "Bunshichi" era. There is a small counter, but there are no customers sitting here. It has become a "serving counter". The interior of the store is only table seats, and at around 6:30 pm on a weekday, the occupancy rate is about 60%. I was also guided to a table seat. First, I ordered the obligatory draft beer. For snacks, I asked for "tsubu wasa" and kisu tempura. The draft beer was served quickly, and the "tsubu wasa" was also brought out promptly. It is a pleasing wasabi-flavored dish with chopped tsubu clam, but the wasabi is quite strong. Not only the spiciness, but the aroma is also quite strong. It goes well with alcohol. Then, a little late, the "kisu tempura" appeared. It is a tempura of a light white fish, soft and reminiscent of Edomae tempura. It is an essential item in Tokyo's Japanese restaurants. When my beer ran out, I switched to a highball. And then, nigiri sushi. Since it is a table seat, I write down the toppings on a sheet and hand it over to have them made. However, as someone who wants to order toppings face to face at the counter, it feels a bit lonely. First, as usual, I write down "kohada" twice, and also octopus and salmon roe once each. Naturally, the kohada, octopus, and salmon roe all come on the same plate. First, the kohada. It is quite delicious kohada. After all, it's not satisfying to eat sushi without it. And then the octopus. The cut is not particularly thick, but the piece is quite large. It is a delicious octopus with a unique texture. It has been a while since I had salmon roe. I actually prefer sujiko, but this salmon roe is elegant, with a slight lack of saltiness but a sweet taste. And then, more nigiri. I order squid and conger eel once each, and also add a tekka maki as my finale. They all come on the same plate again. The squid seems fresh, with no smell or off-flavors, and has a sweet taste. And then the conger eel. The slice seems a bit small, but the conger eel with a sweet and savory glaze is one of my favorite toppings. After eating all the nigiri, all the "shari" seems a bit small. For someone like me who doesn't have a big appetite, small shari is much appreciated. And the finale, the "tekka maki". The collaboration of the strong aroma of tuna and the seaweed with a hint of seaweed. It is the perfect roll for the end. It's a bit lonely not being at the counter, but the bright interior seems suitable for groups, couples, and social gatherings. If there is another opportunity, I would like to visit with someone next time.

I had seen this restaurant on Instagram and was curious about it. At lunchtime, I made a reservation just in case, and when I arrived, there were 2-3 groups of people waiting in front of the restaurant. It seemed like the place had a café-like setup, with large windows and a bright, spacious interior. Upon being seated, we were served tea in cups with a design of a woman from a ukiyo-e print. We had to write down our orders on a piece of paper and hand it over, with the option to choose items individually or as a set. While waiting for our orders, we were served salad and miso soup, which was a nice touch. The food arrived promptly, with my friend's sushi coming first, followed by a spicy roll. I had to wait a bit longer for my order, but when it arrived, I noticed that the rice was quite soft and sweet. I had mistakenly ordered seared sushi instead of the regular one, but the staff kindly offered to exchange it, which I declined. The prices matched the taste, but the medium fatty tuna was quite delicious. They also had eel sushi, which is not common in Tokyo. Lastly, a visually appealing Asakusa roll was served, with avocado, shrimp, egg, salmon, and cheese on top. It tasted like something a child would enjoy, but it was surprisingly good. We also tried the Reiwa Spicy roll, which had interesting flavors. Despite having other food plans, we left satisfied for under 3000 yen for two people. The restaurant seemed to be constantly busy, with a few groups waiting even as we left. The Asakusa roll took quite some time to arrive, possibly due to the high number of customers. The affordable prices, attentive service, and variety of dishes make this a place worth supporting. It's recommended to make a reservation before visiting. I read that there was no counter seating, but there was a small counter where 1-2 people could sit. The main seating is at tables, and they also serve alcohol, giving off a sushi izakaya vibe. They had a good selection of appetizers and a welcoming atmosphere.

I went to Asakusa for sightseeing in September because I thought it would be crowded from October when Tokyo becomes a target of the Go To Travel campaign. I saw on TV that a restaurant run by a Myanmar owner with Nepalese chefs was interesting, and it seemed that the prices were cheap even though it wasn't a standing restaurant. Also, I wanted to visit Asakusa after a long time, so I decided to go. I visited during weekday lunchtime and was attracted to the very cheap set menu, but since there were other restaurants I wanted to visit in Asakusa, I decided to order a la carte. I passed on the famous "Reiwa Spicy Roll" for 580 yen because it seemed spicy, and instead I ordered 5 pieces of pickled tuna, medium fatty tuna, seared mackerel, mackerel, and horse mackerel, totaling 770 yen (tax included). Ordering is done by writing on paper and handing it over, so you can take your time to decide and avoid mistakes, which is nice. I entered the restaurant as soon as it opened on a rainy weekday, with no other customers, and the sushi arrived in about 10 minutes. The sushi was neatly arranged. The sushi pieces were small and elegant, and they all looked delicious. When I tried them, they were all delicious. The rice was somewhat disappointing, but the fish was all delicious. The medium fatty tuna melted in the mouth, the mackerel had a soft finish that even people who don't like mackerel might enjoy, the pickled tuna had a good marinated flavor, and the horse mackerel was fresh and good. Personally, I would have liked the slices to be a bit thicker, but for this quality at this price, it was satisfactory. Also, I felt a bit uneasy about the seared mackerel and wondered what it was... but while seared mackerel dishes often only have the skin seared, here the flesh was also seared, and even the rice was seared, which was interesting (see image). Perhaps the chefs here are not very good at searing. In any case, it was "delicious" sushi. The restaurant is on the second floor up a steep staircase, so be careful if you drink alcohol. The interior is spacious with mainly table seating, and there are a few counter seats, but they probably won't be used until it gets really crowded. All the staff are foreigners, but there were no issues with Japanese language. There were some slightly concerning aspects about the cleanliness of the interior, but overall it was a very good restaurant and I liked it. I sometimes come to Asakusa with friends and often eat sushi, but if I come here, it's easy to invite anyone who isn't very high-end and the prices are quite affordable even if you eat a lot, so I plan to visit frequently in the future.

The other day, I visited this place that was featured on TV, which is run by Myanmar people only. The chef has over 20 years of experience in Japan. I ordered the "Nigiri lunch set for 1210 yen," which includes 8 pieces of nigiri, one roll, salad, and miso soup. I arrived before noon, but the place was already packed with a constant flow of customers. It seemed like a mix of locals and tourists enjoying their lunchtime with beer in hand. The nigiri pieces were small but just the right size. The fish was delicious, but the eel stood out as exceptionally tasty. I regretted not ordering the special eel. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, I felt compelled to support the Myanmar staff working hard in this foreign land. Thank you for the meal.

A friend arranged a gathering at a sushi restaurant in Asakusa run by Myanmar owners. The restaurant opened when the new era name "Reiwa" started, but unfortunately, due to the lack of inbound demand during the pandemic, they are struggling. However, the locals seem to love the place. The sushi chefs in the kitchen are all from Myanmar, but some have been training in Japan for over 20 years. Their cooking skills are solid, the ingredients are fresh, and most importantly, the cost performance is excellent. The menu mainly consists of traditional sushi, but the "Reiwa Spicy Roll," a Myanmar-style twist, is a must-try. Perhaps renaming it to something like "Yangon Roll" following the California Roll trend could boost its popularity. The restaurant was featured on the show "Sakagami & Sashihara's Unbreakable Restaurant" as a place with delicious food that they hope won't close down.

After finishing the "London National Gallery Exhibition," my wife and I took a taxi to Asakusa. Our destination was a sushi restaurant run by a Myanmar native who had trained in Japan for 23 years before opening his own place. We had seen it featured on NHK and wanted to support them during these tough times of the pandemic. It had been 8 years since I last had sushi! We ordered sashimi for two, a premium sushi set for one, and a tuna sushi set for one. The sashimi platter was so generous that one serving would have been enough, but the flavors of the fresh fish were exquisite. Even though we were already full, we couldn't resist trying the "Specialty: Reiwa Spicy Roll" made with Myanmar shrimp. A young man approached us, asking if we could be featured on TV Tokyo's "YOU wa Nani Shi ni Nippon e?" show, and we ended up being filmed. The food was delicious, but what stood out was the surprisingly reasonable bill despite drinking four cups of sake. The spicy roll was a must-try, and as we walked through the quiet streets of Asakusa and headed home on the subway, I couldn't help but feel like I was in a ghost town. Overall, it was an interesting night with the added spice of the TV interview.

In Edo Asakusa, if you're looking for a delicious and affordable sushi restaurant, "Hinatomaru" is the place to go. Right nearby is "Reiwa," which may not have the same name recognition but offers a similar great value like Hinatomaru. The owner, chefs, and staff are all from Myanmar. In Asakusa, where many craftsmen have a strong pride, it can be tiring to deal with, but at this restaurant, there is no need to worry about such things. Their kindness and attentiveness surpass even Japanese standards. Their hospitality reminds you of the forgotten "spirit of hospitality." In a way, they are more Japanese than the Japanese themselves. The prices, including tax, range from 70 yen for nigiri to 270 yen for shochu highball drinks, similar to conveyor belt sushi prices but with higher quality. They offer the same menu from day to night, with a separate lunch menu available. You can enjoy sushi and appetizers at any time, making it perfect for daytime drinking or an izakaya-style evening. It's incredibly convenient! This place deserves more recognition as a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

This is a sushi restaurant that just opened in 2019. The restaurant is located on the second floor up the stairs. Inside, there are 8 tables and 4 counter seats. The atmosphere is more like a café than a sushi restaurant. When you sit down, you are served with a wet towel and green tea. Looking at the menu, the daily bowl is the cheapest at 650 yen, which is actually 715 yen including tax. They also offer dishes like fried chicken set and tempura, not just seafood. I'm curious about their specialty dish, the "Raidon". You can order sushi by the piece. I ordered the Nigiri Lunch Set (1,210 yen). The lunch comes with salad and miso soup. The miso soup contains tofu and seaweed, and although it doesn't have fish, it still has a nice umami flavor. The Nigiri Lunch Set includes 8 pieces of sushi with a Tekkamaki. The sushi includes tuna, squid, steamed shrimp, horse mackerel, salmon, eel, minced tuna with green onion, and amberjack. The horse mackerel is delicious with a nice fatty taste. The eel was really good, it was fluffy and melted in my mouth. The tuna was a bit watery. The eel alone is worth coming back for. I would like to try the Raidon next time.
