I visited the restaurant to pass the time before a meeting. I was feeling hungry, so I decided to order haggis from the menu. It was delicious! The tap choices were also good, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Next time, I will try the Reuben sandwich or fish and chips.

This is a shop where you can tell the master's meticulous work. I visited for lunch before and had beer and fish & chips, and since then I have been wanting to go at night! As expected, it is a wonderful pub that is particular about beer.

Discovered a nice-looking beer bar as the second stop from Enshu-ya. It's open until midnight and has a good atmosphere. The interior shows attention to detail, and according to Tabelog, they also serve coffee. I tried one draft beer and a blue cheese beer with a refreshing sour taste, both delicious. Had a quick drink and left the bar feeling a bit tipsy. I'd like to come back next time in a more sober state (if that ever happens).

After dining at Sushi Homare, we went to Asakusa Naniwaya, but it was already closed. It seems they now close at 6 pm. So, we walked and found THE AULD open, so we went in. Even though it's a bar, we never drink alcohol and always have coffee. Today's coffee was from Honduras, so we had two cups of Honduran coffee and a carrot cake. The carrot cake was not too sweet and delicious. And the Honduran coffee was also delicious.

After having a meal at Keibinrou, we came to The Auld for some coffee. My wife ordered the Stable Blend (700 yen) and I ordered the Kenya (750 yen). While looking at the blackboard, I couldn't resist and ended up ordering the Koshizuka Ham Rye Sandwich (1100 yen) as well. The coffee here is delicious. When the Koshizuka Ham Rye Sandwich was brought to us, it was also very tasty, with the rye bread being particularly delicious. The sauerkraut and fried potatoes served with it were also very tasty.

I had about 30 minutes until dinner, so I stopped by AULD for a quick coffee. It's actually a pub, but they also serve delicious coffee here. Since we only had 30 minutes, we both decided to order the Guatemala El Injerto coffee (650 yen each). The coffee here is really good. They accept PayPay and it's a store where you can get a 20% cashback. Lucky!

I wanted to have a daytime drink and was introduced to this place. It's just a few minutes walk from the station one stop away from Asakusa on the Ginza Line. The location is great. The exterior is fantastic. I started with a Guinness draft. It was amazing, the best Guinness draft I've ever had. You can tell they take good care of their taps. I also ordered the smoked salmon from Hebridees, Scotland, which came in two varieties: whiskey oak and oak smoke. It had a delicate flavor. The fish & chips were also delicious, with crispy chips seasoned with consommé. I added a London Pride beer, which was perfect in taste and came in a lovely glass. I was completely satisfied with my daytime experience!

I visited an English pub near Tahara-cho Station, which I discovered while at Barb Rouge Juice in Kuramae for the first time. I thought I had researched all the bars in the area, but I had overlooked this pub because of its genre. They offer 4 types of beer on tap, as well as cider, so I tried Guinness and a refreshing tropical IPA. They also have a variety of malts available. I ordered one piece of fish and chips and enjoyed it with malt vinegar. It was a satisfying experience.

A British pub that recently opened in Tahara Town. I decided to visit as they also serve meticulously brewed coffee. The menu includes a variety of alcoholic drinks as well as food items. I was particularly intrigued by the Charcuterie made with Koshizuka ham.
British Scone - ¥550
Served with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Crispy and crumbly texture, with a generous amount of clotted cream.
Carrot Cake - ¥650
Moist and soft with a hint of spices, and deliciously moist. Contains a few raisins.
Shortbread - ¥300
Crispy and lingering deliciousness. The sweets are all from Pomusoru in Chiba, and they all slowly become more delicious.
Mimaya Blend (Hot) - ¥650
Guatemala El Injerto (Iced) - ¥750
They use beans from Kofinowa in Kuramae. Both have a smooth bitterness and richness that are easy to drink. I'm curious about the Reuben sandwich made with Koshizuka ham's corned beef, so I'd like to visit again.

My wife and I came to The Auld for tea. I thought it was a beer bar, but they also have a good selection of coffee. My wife ordered the Guatemala (600 yen) and I ordered the Kenya (600 yen) hand drip coffee. We also ordered the carrot cake (600 yen). The coffee was delicious and the carrot cake was not too sweet, which was great. They also have interesting menu items like individual orders of fried oysters and rye bread sandwiches. We will definitely come back again.

Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales are all part of the "British" Isles. Around the time of the vernal equinox, on March 17th, it is St. Patrick's Day. Before heading to the pub, "THE AULD," it's a good idea to call ahead to check for availability. The pub has a strong British theme and is known for its dedication to authenticity. Upon entering the cozy underground pub, you are greeted by the master, who is wearing a green hat band. Happy St. Patrick's Day! During the St. Patrick's Day promotion, Guinness and other drinks are discounted, so I ordered a smooth Guinness with haggis (served with Talisker). I enjoyed chatting with regulars and Lily, who had studied abroad, while sipping my drink. On this day, the American president was meeting with Ireland, and he also wore a shamrock on his chest.

At first, it felt a bit out of place, but I felt at ease knowing that families can enjoy this place too! The pub has a calm British style, with a wide selection of drinks. There are various food options available, making it enjoyable for a light afternoon snack. It seems like a popular spot for couples to visit!

At the end of January 2022, after enjoying rakugo at Asakusa's Manbou, we stopped by this shop. The shop has always been stricter than the city's rules when it comes to things like group size, but we were grateful that they have not changed their business hours style, even if it means giving up certification. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the Fish & Chips (1P).

The cafe is lined with rows of liquor bottles, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a British pub. The menu includes a variety of drinks and light snacks. In this British-style setting, I tried the scones which are said to be made in the authentic British way. Although this place is perfect for pairing with tea, they also offer a wide variety of coffee options. The coffee was brewed perfectly and tasted delicious. The scones were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a gentle hint of eggs. The clotted cream and jam really enhanced the flavor. The owner was also very kind and welcoming.

This is a British-style pub that I hope will continue to operate all day. Here is a brief introduction based on my recent visit:
- A British-themed establishment encompassing England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.
- Known as "The Auld," not "The Old."
- No cover charge or service fees.
- Run by a former coffee shop owner from Kappabashi who serves coffee.
- Offers British scones.
- One of the few places in Japan that serves Guinness beer on tap with a unique nitrogen and carbonation mix.
- Serves Scottish dish haggis and mashed green peas.
- Located near Asakusa Kaminarimon Street, close to a post office.
- Nearby landmarks include Sanmi Coral and Higashi Honganji Temple.
- Implements strict safety measures for COVID-19, limiting the number of guests per group.
- Open from 11 am to midnight, possibly without a closing break.
- Features bagpipe music in the venue.
- Offers a variety of beers on tap for leisurely consumption.
- The counter height is reminiscent of British pubs.
- Maintains a strong commitment to the British pub style.
- The atmosphere may attract regular elderly patrons in the future.
During my first visit for a late lunch, I enjoyed a platter of mashed potatoes, mashed peas, and haggis with a Glenlivet whisky drizzle, along with a pint of Guinness. I also tried the Reuben sandwich made with Southern Island dressing and delicious corned beef. I look forward to trying BrewDog beer, fish and chips, and more on my next visit. The owner, who previously worked at Slangi in Kinshicho, was familiar to me. The only other customer was a coffee expert taking photos for a group article. It was a delightful experience.

You can enjoy authentic craft beer here that you can't taste anywhere else. Heartland IPA is served with attention to temperature, which is rare in Japan. They also recommend cocktails that are popular among regulars. There is a wide variety of whiskies available, so it seems like a place you need to visit regularly.

I visited the restaurant to kill time before a dinner party. The atmosphere inside was cozy, not too bright or too dark. I planned to have just one drink before the party, but then I saw Elderflower Soda on the menu. They also had Carrot Cake! I rarely come across a place that serves Elderflower, so I ordered it right away. It had a refreshing taste, like white grapes. I savored it and thought "I haven't had this in a while!" The Carrot Cake had a hint of cinnamon, making it a good match for drinks. Of course, it was also satisfying as a dessert. It was a lucky coincidence that I stopped by this place. A great find! The Carrot Cake was.

THE AULD, which opened near Tahara-cho Station last year, offers Ethiopian coffee and scones at the counter. The coffee is from Kofinowa in Kuramae. The atmosphere is very welcoming and you can enjoy beer, coffee, or tea. They also serve lunch, so you can visit alone and enjoy your own style. I visited at the end of November, so I apologize if the menu has changed. #AsakusaCafe #KuramaeCafe #BritishPub #NewStore #TokyoCafe #Asakusa #Kuramae

Located about a 2-minute walk from Tawaramachi Station in Ginza, right behind Asakusa Post Office, this restaurant has a very stylish exterior with a blue color scheme. It is situated in a semi-basement-like setting. It's a beer bar with several types of fresh draft beers that make you want to keep drinking (I only had Guinness though). Originally, the owner used to run a coffee shop next to the Taito Ward Lifelong Learning Center (Central Library) in Hachobashi for about 3 years before taking over this place. They also serve coffee, whiskey, and brandy at reasonable prices. The ice is hand-cracked, and the best part is there is no cover charge, making it a great value for money. Overall, it's a fantastic place.

A British pub that opened in early October. Recommended by a friend out of the blue, I decided to visit on a weekday afternoon. Even though it was past lunchtime, I noticed a lunch menu outside, with the option to add a beer to the set drink. I was intrigued, so I entered the pub. It was a quiet time, with no other customers. I sat at a table near the entrance. The owner used to run "KAPPABASHI COFFEE&BAR" before opening this new pub. The lunch menu had three options, and I chose option C, the "British pub-style pork cutlet sandwich with homemade spicy sauce" for 1,000 yen. It came with a small Heineken, which was a good deal. As I enjoyed my beer, I could hear the sound of the cutlets being fried in the kitchen. They were freshly fried after I placed my order. The sandwich consisted of thinly sliced pork cutlet and cabbage between toast, served with French fries. The crispy cutlet was delicious, with a good texture and just the right amount of sauce. It was definitely worth the price. I decided to add another beer, this time trying the Black Isle Scotch Ale. With four beer taps available, including Guinness and Brewdog, the variety was impressive. The Scotch Ale was a bit filling, and after finishing my beer, I felt satisfied. The sandwich was tasty, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I could see myself coming back for a casual whiskey night. I will definitely visit again.
