On the day of my return after 5 months abroad, I returned to my hometown of Nakano and visited this restaurant for the first time. While overseas, all I saw in online articles were about food. Among them, there was one article that caught my attention - a limited-time offer until October 1st for an "Ultra Unadon" with four times the amount of eel. The store was limited as well, and it was available at the Nakano branch! I thought I had to try it, so I went straight from Narita. Two surprising things I want to mention: First, huh? Is this the four times the amount of eel? No way, this can't be the "Ultra" size! If this is only a quarter of the normal size, it must be so empty and embarrassing that they wouldn't serve it to customers! I couldn't help but make this comment to myself. The second thing is that, surprisingly, it was delicious. Even though it was cheap, it felt like I was eating eel. I knew that this place has been serving eel for a coin for a long time, but I completely ignored it. However, the taste was not bad at all. I'm sorry. I thought it would be tough and rubbery, but it wasn't like that at all. Even though the price is low, considering the cost-performance ratio, you can enjoy eel that is quite delicious. It was an unexpected discovery. Next time, I'll be torn between having a beef bowl or Unadon. Of course, next time I'll have the 2 Gigabyte size. Because one Gigabyte is not enough to fill me up.

Before entering Nakano Broadway, a nearby tantanmen restaurant was full, so I had a double eel bowl with liver and grated yam for 1490 yen. They offered a free extra serving of rice, but since I'm on a diet (54th day), I opted for a regular portion. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

My son was feeling the effects of summer fatigue, so we decided to visit Unatoto Nakano branch for the first time in years to eat some eel. It had been a while since I had eel and I wanted to eat a lot, so I ordered the special deluxe eel bowl set with pickled vegetables. It was satisfying to be able to eat eel at a reasonable price before the midsummer day of the ox.

During the hot summer season, I felt like having some crispy eel, so I decided to visit this specialized restaurant. I ordered an eel bowl along with eel liver. The eel in the bowl was bigger than I expected, tenderly steamed, and easy to eat. I could adjust the amount of sauce and sansho pepper to my liking at the table. Overall, I was very satisfied with the eel bowl.

Unagi donburi double for 1,100 yen with an additional side of pickles for 220 yen. The eel was thick and satisfying to eat. It's a budget-friendly chain restaurant so don't expect too much, but the skin had a slightly soggy texture. The sauce wasn't as thick as it looked, it was light and not overpowering. It had more volume and was tastier than the eel donburi at the beef bowl chain. The staff's service was also pleasant.

Weekend night visit. I have been passing by this Nakano branch for years, always intrigued but always drawn to the neighboring "Hoozuki" instead. This visit is my first as Umanatoto. It was dinner time, but there were many delivery and takeout customers, and few like me eating in the restaurant, so it was quiet. I ordered the "Unaju" with pickles set (with less rice). The eel was grilled on the spot and the dish was served in a few minutes. The presentation of the "Unaju" was quite impressive, with a generous amount of well-cooked eel neatly arranged, giving a sense of luxury compared to a regular bowl. The eel was perfectly grilled, crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a rich and delicious taste. The sauce, liver sauce, and sansho pepper were all delicious and evenly distributed. The "Unaju" was very satisfying in terms of taste, quantity, and quality, even though it was priced at less than 1000 yen. Furthermore, both the kitchen staff and the service staff at the Nakano branch were polite and left a good impression. The restaurant had a casual feel, but the taste and satisfaction level were much higher than many other eel specialty restaurants. I would like to visit Umanatoto again. Thank you for the meal.

If you go right down the alley next to OS Drug just before Nakano Broadway's arcade, you'll find a mass-produced eel rice bowl shop. Sit at the counter and place your order with the staff. The double eel rice bowl costs 1,100 yen. It's unclear whether the eel is steamed, grilled, or stewed, but the meat is thicker than at Yoshinoya. This results in a high level of satisfaction. Grateful for the way they brought eel down to the level of the masses!

On Wednesday, it was 31 degrees Celsius and sunny. I entered the restaurant at 11:02 and there were already 2 customers inside. I sat at the counter seat number 1. I ordered the eel rice bowl for 1,580 yen, and added pickles and eel soup for 220 yen. The eel rice bowl arrived after 10 minutes and it was a generous portion of 0.75 cut eel. The eel sauce was deliciously sweet, and I was happy to have the option to add more sauce and some additional sansho pepper. The portion of white rice seemed to be less than 250g, but overall it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food. I will definitely come back with friends and sit on the spacious second floor.

I come here to eat many times because the prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. The eel is very delicious and satisfying with rice! The soup is also tasty. The environment of the restaurant is a bit poor, with quite a few flies on the second floor. It's always crowded here.

Visited "Nadai Unatoto" at Nakano North Exit, a one-coin eel bowl restaurant operated by G-Factory with 14 locations in Tokyo and Osaka. Ordered a one-coin eel bowl, a double eel bowl, beer, and kimchi as a side dish. The kimchi was unnecessary as pickled vegetables were complimentary. The eel portion in the bowl was quite small, even when ordering with less rice, which was slightly more than expected. The sweet sauce was unlimited, so eating with sauce-covered rice made for a satisfying meal. The eel itself was difficult to pick up with chopsticks and had a rubbery texture with no melt-in-your-mouth feel from the fat. Some may find a slight fishy taste off-putting, but opinions may vary. Overall, my companion enjoyed the meal and finished the double eel bowl, so eel lovers may find it satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant for lunch and ordered the double eel bowl set, which came with pickles and soup. The staff in the kitchen were chatting the whole time, which I found a bit off-putting. Also, I noticed they had their water bottles out in the open, which bothered me a little. I understand they need to stay hydrated while working, but I would have preferred if they kept them out of sight. The eel was tender and easy to eat, but the rice seemed old and hard, and the flavor was lacking. The sauce also didn't suit my taste. Overall, I don't think I'll be going back.

I came here for the first time, located just off Broadway. The first floor has a counter where two groups of customers were seated on the second floor. Looking at the menu, the prices are incredibly cheap, all less than half the price of an eel restaurant. I wanted to try the hitsumabushi, but it would take 30 minutes, so I opted for the liver and pickles set with an eel rice bowl. The eel bowl comes with a free large size, but the eel rice bowl is an additional 110 yen. A strange setup where the cheaper menu items are more cost-effective. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the food arrived. The eel was more voluminous than I had expected, with a nice glaze. When I tried it, it was thick but not too sticky, with a slight dryness. There were no small bones, but it was quite chewy and required a lot of chewing. Even when adding sansho pepper, the raw smell was a bit bothersome. Hmm. It feels like eating a grilled white fish like Pacific saury with sauce. The liver dish only had some liver-like strings in it. One thing I realized is that the eel I had at Yoshinoya the other day was of a much higher quality. Anyway, it's okay for those who want to eat a lot of eel cheaply. Thank you for the meal.

I had known about this place but had never visited before. I had a meeting in Nakano, so I decided to have lunch here for the first time. It was 1:30 pm and there was only one other customer. They had a variety of eel dishes on the menu. The staff mentioned that if I ordered a double portion today, I would get a free upgrade to a large portion of rice, so I ordered it. I paid 1000 yen including tax and my meal arrived in just a few minutes. The portion looked smaller than I had imagined, but there was actually a lot of rice hidden underneath. I added the complimentary pickles on top and took a bite of the eel. It was even better than I had expected. The quality was good for the price. I sprinkled some sansho pepper on top halfway through and enjoyed it even more. It was delicious beyond its price. Thank you for the meal. ☺️

✨Today, let me introduce you to this place✨♀️♂️You can enjoy the taste of a long-established eel restaurant at a reasonable price with just one coin at this shop in Nakano【Nakano edition】. The famous "Unatoto" Nakano branch. http://www.unatoto.com/shop/nakano/03-5354-6969 Located at 52-1 Nakano 5-chome, a 5-minute walk from Nakano Station.♀️This time, we will try the signature dish of Unatoto, the ¥550 eel bowl and ¥160 liver sashimi set✨They use Niigata-grown Yukinko rice. I used to work at a small mobile phone sales shop in Nakano from 2010 to 2013, just before Nakano Broadway, somehow at the 1st floor of Nantoka Teahouse. I lived in a share house in Nakanoshinbashi until 2018, so Nakano holds a special place in my heart. The 1st floor is for takeout and counter seating, and I have never been to the 2nd floor, but there are table seats✨When I have a little extra money, I go for the double eel bowl and liver sashimi set. The familiar taste brings back memories✨Sprinkle some sansho pepper on the eel with sauce, and enjoy it with Niigata rice~Delicious⤴️It's easy to eat, even for women‼️The eel meat and skin are moist, shiny, and easy to chew. The variety of menu options and the convenience of being able to visit the shop every day are the appealing points. They also focus on Uber Eats, so you can easily enjoy their food at home♀️【Store Information】In a store equipped with WiFi, you can enjoy eel dishes cooked on charcoal with a special sauce. They also offer a wide range of side dishes. For those who love eel❗️Why not try the eel bowl at "Unatoto" Nakano branch?

It's a chain store, but not too many locations... or so I thought. That's Unato. A shop specializing in eel dishes, where the eel bowl is an amazing 500 yen excluding tax. They grill it carefully and quickly over charcoal after ordering, and it turns out thick and juicy. The charcoal flavor and the deliciousness of the eel are there, and at this price, it's really incredible. The sauce also goes well with the rice, so even though I wondered if there was too much rice for the size of the eel, I managed to finish it properly. The firmness of the rice was good too. I'm satisfied. Being able to enjoy eel at such a reasonable price is amazing.

I had a day off from work and wanted to have a delicious lunch! I was craving eel, but I thought it would be expensive. However, I found a great restaurant! It was cheap, delicious, and they served eel! I was really surprised (laughs). Many restaurants are temporarily closed due to the pandemic, but I decided to give it a try and it was open! I ordered a double eel bowl with pickles on the side. They also offered miso soup for free if you add them on LINE, so I immediately added it (laughs). It was really delicious. It was a great day off. I plan to go back again!

The nearest station is Nakano Station. It is located straight ahead from Sun Mall, then turn right at the alley just before Broadway. There are counter seats on the 1st floor, and table seats on the 2nd floor. I visited the restaurant after learning from a review by MyRebi that they have a limited-time menu called "Unameshi Giga Plus" until February 28th. I ordered the Unameshi Giga Plus (1100 yen) and red miso soup (110 yen). Since extra rice is free, I asked for a large portion. I was worried about whether I could finish the 4 times the amount of eel in the Unameshi Giga Plus, but when the bowl was served, I was surprised. There were chopped grilled eel and shredded seaweed on top of the rice. The seasoning was not bad, and the rice with eel sauce was definitely delicious. If this is 4 times the amount, I wonder how little eel is in the regular size. But considering that eel is expensive, this price might be reasonable. Looking at the menu, Hitsumabushi was also priced at less than 1000 yen, so I might try it once even though the amount of eel is probably very little (laughs).

I visited the restaurant on a weekday night and it was about 10% full. I had the Unadon (extra large) for ¥1,100. It was filled with eel and topped with seaweed, which added a nice touch. I felt it was reasonably priced. Thank you for the meal!

Just a 4-minute walk from Nakano Station North Exit in Tokyo, you'll find Unatoto Nakano branch, where you can enjoy the Unadon Giga Extra with Akadashi for 1210 yen. This new menu features four times the amount of eel compared to a regular Unadon. The restaurant is located on a side street to the right just before Nakano Sun Mall on the way to Nakano Broadway. I had tried Unatoto about 10 years ago at their Kanda branch, where one piece of eel was good while the other was tough and rubbery, making it difficult to chew and swallow. The staff were also not very friendly, so I had avoided Unatoto since then. However, I decided to give it another try this time. The eel this time was plentiful and chopped up, topped with shredded seaweed. The sauce was a bit sweet, so I added a lot of sansho pepper to balance it out. The staff this time were efficient and friendly, calling out to customers when they were available. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Today, I visited the restaurant because the limited-time re-release of the Unameshi Giga+ started. Around 11 o'clock, there were no customers waiting ahead of me. I ordered the Unameshi Giga extra large with extra rice and a side of liver. It only took about 3 minutes for the food to be served, and during that time, I noticed several takeout and Uber Eats orders coming in. I was surprised that the bowl was smaller than I expected, but there was a generous amount of eel in the dish. It's quite a good deal to be able to enjoy such a large portion of eel at this price. The sauce and sansho pepper are available on the table for you to adjust to your liking. It's a bit disappointing that the flavor and aroma of the sansho pepper were not very strong. The liver was delicious, with a rich dashi flavor and a firm texture.
