Between Tokyu Department Store main store and Inokashira Street, there is a narrow alley where the sign of this shop was displayed. It was the Udagawa Cafe, located right by the former Udagawa River. I had heard its name before, but I didn't know what it was famous for. The prices were all \900 for lunch, which seemed quite reasonable for a supposedly famous cafe. Upon entering the shop, a staff member promptly guided me to the second floor. The second floor had a bright and spacious layout with various seating options, including sofa seats and wooden tables. There was even a loft-style third floor. I ordered the Grilled Herb Chicken made with domestic chicken for \900, which came with a salad and rice on the same plate. The chicken had a crispy skin and juicy meat with a nice herb flavor. The salad was fresh and tasty. The service was decent, with staff members attending to customers promptly. However, the shop allowed smoking indoors, which was a downside as the smoke lingered in the air. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, with a mix of customers enjoying their own time. Overall, the meal was considered a good value for the price. The iced oolong tea served was refreshing. The most memorable aspect was the lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

The top was a bit thin, and the inside was like pudding. Personally, I prefer it a bit firmer, but it was still delicious. I chose the dry ginger ale which was not too sweet and easy to drink. The staff was smiling and very friendly throughout. I decided to order the Today's Lunch Plate "Sautéed Young Chicken with Salsa Sauce" for 900 yen including tax. I chose rice instead of bread. The plate was simple with sautéed chicken, rice, and some greens, but the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the salsa sauce had just the right amount of spiciness, making it very delicious. I also had a warm cup of coffee after the meal, all for 900 yen. Great value for money! I was the only customer throughout my visit. The staff stayed on the 1st floor, only coming up to the 2nd floor to serve the dishes, so I had the whole spacious interior to myself. The combination of cheese and al dente pasta was delicious. The corn soup here has a grainy texture and is delicious. If you're using the cafe, I recommend adding 20 yen to the famous cheesecake and eating it with blueberry sauce.

I wish I could have felt more of the charm of the shop, but maybe because I didn't spend time inside, the takeout experience didn't exceed my expectations. There were many other delicious-looking items on the menu, so I definitely want to visit again and relax inside next time.
