Waffle shop located in Sengakuji Temple. I used it for takeout lunch on a holiday. They used to sell dango before, but now they have switched to waffles. I ordered the "Chocolate Banana Half" (380 yen). Even though it's a half size, the waffle is about the same size as a regular one. After ordering, they cut up the banana and top the waffle with chocolate chips, chocolate cream, and whipped cream. The toppings are piled high, and for 380 yen, it feels like a great deal.

The freshly baked mitarashi dango is incredibly delicious, with a crispy outer layer and a soft, stretchy texture inside. The sweet and savory flavor of the mitarashi sauce enhances the overall taste. And all of this for just 100 yen. It's truly amazing. Just like the warmth you can get from a 100 yen coin, as sung by Ozaki Yutaka in his song about canned coffee 38 years ago. Even though you can't buy canned coffee for 100 yen anymore, this dango still delivers that same warmth and deliciousness. I also tried the ohagi and kuzumochi, both offering great value for their taste and price. Overall, a truly satisfying and impressive dining experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On a Monday afternoon on a public holiday, I took a leisurely stroll around Shinagawa Gateway and decided to stop by a recently opened shop called "Honkoya". I browsed through their selection of dango and ended up choosing the "isobe" (120 yen) and "shoyu" (100 yen) dango this time. After placing my order, I waited for them to be grilled. Finally, the dango were ready - a set of four dango brothers. I took a bite and found them to be delicious. I hope to try their warabi dango next time if I have the chance.

I was aiming for Matsushima-ya, but I found this place near Isaraiko first. I had seen people lining up on the street a few times before, but I didn't know what kind of shop it was. It's a dumpling shop. It's a takeout-only store where you order from outside the window. They have limited options like mitarashi dango, anko dango, and warabi mochi. I ordered mitarashi dango. They heat up the dumplings and brush on the sauce after you order, so it takes some time. Waiting outside in the cold is not ideal, but luckily it wasn't too cold that day. The dumplings come five pieces per skewer and they are small. The sauce is evenly spread but on the lighter side.

I stopped by after lunch because the shop had quietly opened. I didn't have much room in my stomach, so I just got the Isobe dango, but I'm curious about the warabi mochi and ohagi as well. The dango is made to order, so it takes a little time, but it's delicious. And for only 120 yen, it's cheap. The savory soy sauce and flavorful seaweed are great. The dango is chewy and warm. It has a strong taste of the ingredients, so I recommend it to anyone looking for delicious dango. It's perfect for a little dessert after lunch. The staff is friendly and even chats with you while you wait, so it's not at all unpleasant! I will definitely be a repeat customer. It's also nice that coffee is only 120 yen when ordered as a set.
