In the vicinity of Nishieifuku, several authentic curry restaurants have sprung up unnoticed. Feeling like having curry, we visited a restaurant that my wife had visited for lunch before. This restaurant specializes in authentic Nepalese curry, ranging from sweet curry that even children can enjoy to extremely spicy authentic ones. The first floor has table seating, while the second floor has both table and tatami seating, and since we had children with us, we were seated in the tatami area. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we could smell the spices. That's how authentic it should be. All the staff are from Nepal or India, and although there are no Japanese staff, they can communicate well in Japanese. For drinks, the children had orange juice, my wife had lassi, and I had a Nepalese beer called "Everest." We ordered the sweet "Butter Chicken" for the kids, "Navabi Gosht" for my wife, and I went for the spicy "Green Curry" with an extra kick. We also ordered rice, naan, spinach naan, tandoori chicken, and a churro salad. The Nepalese beer "Everest" tasted slightly sweet, similar to local beers from the South Pacific. The churro salad was a straightforward salad with lettuce, tomatoes, boiled eggs, and a dressing similar to aurora sauce. It didn't feel out of place at all, perhaps tailored for Japanese taste. The tandoori chicken was tender and had a flavorful curry aroma that whetted our appetites. It wasn't very spicy, just a flavorful chicken dish. The kids' butter chicken and rice were shared between my children because the portion was quite large for a small child. The rice was cooked soft and went well with the sweet butter chicken sauce, which was not overly sweet but had a hint of spiciness. The Green Curry, with an extra kick, was just right when paired with naan. The Navabi Gosht had a standard level of spiciness, but it seemed spicier than the Green Curry with added spice. It had a good balance of spiciness and flavor, making it delicious. The spinach naan, despite its intense green color, didn't taste overwhelmingly of spinach but was quite tasty. It went well with the Green Curry and Navabi Gosht. We ordered quite a lot, but we finished everything. The total bill came to 6200 yen, cash only with a smile. Considering the amount we ate, the price was reasonable. If we ever crave curry again, we'll definitely visit this place. Overall, I rate it 3.3 out of 5 for being a leading curry spot in Nishieifuku. The food and taste receive a 3.5 for being delicious, the service a 3.5 for attentive Nepalese staff, the atmosphere a 3.0 for a slightly subdued Nepalese restaurant vibe, and the value for money a 3.5 for being good. The drinks get a 3.0 for offering Nepalese alcohol in their lineup.
