I visited "Hi no Tori" for a New Year's party. It's located about a 15-minute walk from Shinjuku Station in a quiet area, perfect for a relaxing meal. We sat at a table in the back, but there is also counter seating available. We ordered a la carte items: - Chicken Crystal 418 yen - Toro Tamago Potato Salad 605 yen - Furisode 231 yen - Negima (Chicken and Green Onion Skewer) 253 yen - Seseri (Chicken Neck) 242 yen - Tsukune (Chicken Meatball) 231 yen - Tebasaki (Chicken Wing) 198 yen - Ginnan (Ginkgo Nuts) 275 yen The chicken used is Ooyama chicken, and the portions are generous. The Seseri was juicy and the sauce was delicious. The only downside was that the Mega Sour drink was a bit pricey. Overall, "Hi no Tori" is a great place for yakitori and casual dining.

【Nearest station】3 minutes walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Station 【Visit time】Thursday, around 9:00 PM 【Purpose】Dinner 【Regular holiday】Irregular holidays 【Reservation】Available 【Number of people】2 【Budget】5,000 to 6,000 yen 【Order content】Recommended: All-you-can-drink with 5 skewers of Yonotori yakitori course for 5,000 yen 【Recommended for people like】Looking for an izakaya around Shinjuku Station, looking for a delicious yakitori restaurant around Shinjuku Station 【Overview】"Yonotori," where you can enjoy morning-pulled Ooyama chicken yakitori. The back alleys of Nishi-Shinjuku are a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station, but the stylish atmosphere makes it worth it. The food is delicious, making it a recommended spot for dates! 【Review】The recommended all-you-can-drink with 5 skewers of Yonotori yakitori course for 5,000 yen or less is amazing in terms of cost performance! The all-you-can-drink includes beer, sours, chu-hi, and sake, and the course also includes specialties like "extremely fatty liver" and "charred heart with lots of green onions," as well as 5 skewers. The skewers are larger than those at typical yakitori restaurants, so 5 types are satisfying. This is a certified amazing cost performance! 【Course content】 - Vegetable plate - Extremely fatty liver - Charred heart with lots of green onions - Today's special dish - Yonotori's fried chicken - Assorted skewers (5 types) - Chicken mince rice or dessert Thank you for the meal!

Late at night (after 9:30pm), I felt like having a casual drink and heading home. I thought there might be some good spots on the backstreets of Nishi-Shinjuku. Sure enough, I found a place with a counter that looked a bit crowded from the outside, but when I mustered up the courage to ask if there were any seats available, the staff welcomed me in. The interior had a cozy atmosphere with a mix of counter seating and a raised area in the back. It had a casual feel with people taking off their shoes and sitting around sunken kotatsu tables. The clientele seemed to be mostly young businessmen, creating a comfortable vibe. I ordered through a QR code on my phone, which was convenient. Although some popular items were sold out, the yakitori dishes were delicious and flavorful. The daikon radish was especially tasty, and the homemade meat miso was a hit. I didn't have time for rice dishes, but I would definitely like to visit again for more yakitori. Overall, a great experience!

The lemon sour had a strong fruitiness and was not too alcoholic, which I liked. Every dish was incredibly delicious, making me savor each bite. The chicken neck, tail, and heart with green onions, as well as the fried chicken, were all excellent. The creamy liver on the plate looked raw and intimidating, but it was incredibly tasty. The sweet minced meat bowl for the finale was a bit too sweet compared to the other dishes, but each dish left me wanting more. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, resembling an old Japanese house.

The lemon sour is delicious and very easy to drink! It's irresistible for lemon sour lovers. The yakitori is also tasty. The menu selection is not very large. However, it tends to be quite crowded, so it's better to make a reservation. (A few groups were turned away because they didn't have a reservation)

I was able to relax at the spacious counter seats. The specialty liver dish was delicious! Even those who don't like liver might enjoy it. The appetizer was the vegetable Bagna. Just this alone was satisfying in terms of volume. The heart and potato salad were also delicious, along with the drinks.

I love the slightly high-end Chinese restaurant called G.T.En in Nishi-Shinjuku. I recently went to their affiliated izakaya called Zekkouchou Teppei for another business dinner, and the food and service there were perfect too. So I thought, "This must be a great restaurant chain!" and made a reservation for another business dinner at this place. It's quite a walk from Shinjuku Station. The course menu costs 5,500 yen and includes a vegetable platter, extremely fatty liver, grilled heart with lots of green onions, drooling chicken (today's special), fried chicken wings, assorted skewers (5 grilled chicken skewers and 2 vegetable skewers), and minced chicken rice bowl. The grilled chicken, including all the dishes, is delicious. The drinks also come out quickly. However, the seats were extremely smoky! My eyes were stinging and watering the whole time, but I managed to eat the grilled chicken while crying with the person I went with. I asked the staff grilling in front of us multiple times, "Can't you do something about this?" but they just replied, "No, there's nothing we can do." I think the smoke level was at a point where something should be done about it... The service at other affiliated restaurants was perfect, so my expectations were high, but I was extremely disappointed. The food is delicious, so if you plan to go, go with at least 4 people and choose a table seat...

Visited a yakitori restaurant known for their delicious tomato sours. The restaurant was small but had a great atmosphere. We arrived before 6:00 pm on a weekday and opted for the Hino Tori Special Course which was 4,500 yen per person with all-you-can-drink for an additional 1,500 yen. We ordered two courses for a total of 9,000 yen. The course included a variety of dishes such as a vegetable platter, premium chicken liver, grilled chicken heart with green onions, assorted fried items, chicken karaage, and a selection of chicken skewers. Everything was surprisingly delicious, with one extra dish mistakenly brought to our table. I found the tomato sour drink to be just okay, but the standout recommendation was to pay extra to have the salted rice ball changed to a grilled rice ball. A piece of advice would be to avoid sitting in front of the grill counter as it gets very smoky to the point of tears. If those seats are the only ones available, it might be worth considering finding another restaurant. There are also table seats at the back, suitable for group dining.

We ordered a course with all-you-can-drink for 5000 yen for 2 people after 7 pm. We were disappointed that our request to avoid certain ingredients due to allergies was not accommodated, but the yakitori was delicious. The fried chicken, in particular, was very tasty. The atmosphere at the counter was nice, and the course offered good value for the price, so I recommend it (just be aware that it's a bit far from the station).

I wanted to eat liver. All the dishes are well-balanced. The old-fashioned style of the building itself, as well as the atmosphere of the counter visible from outside, are both great. I feel like going there sometimes. The name of the restaurant has nothing to do with that Japanese sake brand, but there are many bottles lined up.

Located a little off the bustling street of Nishi-Shinjuku, where famous ramen shops like Menya Sho and Kankaku are lined up, is a yakitori restaurant. Just from the exterior, it looks delicious. I've been wanting to visit for a while, and finally had the chance to go! The first appetizer of vegetables was already delicious, so my expectations for the rest of the dishes were high. And then, the highlight - the extremely fatty liver skewer... no, it was incredibly delicious. It was probably the best liver I've ever had in my life. All the other dishes were also tasty!! Ended the meal with a Tamago Kake Gohan (rice with raw egg) and a double serving of ramen, haha. I was very satisfied! I also want to try their lunch menu!

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. The phone service was polite. The location was a bit hard to find. Inside the restaurant, there is a counter right away, and the atmosphere is bright and nice. The back has sunken kotatsu seats. The counter and table seats are separated, so you can enjoy your meal in a calm environment. The appetizer (603 yen) is a vegetable stick with a good portion. You might even be able to get a refill. The extremely fatty liver (590 yen) is cooked at a low temperature and makes a great snack. The grilled heart with plenty of green onions (640 yen) is a good deal with lots of onions. I had a hard time ordering on my phone because the signal was weak. Thank you for the meal.

The service and atmosphere were truly wonderful. The chicken was very juicy and tender. Some popular dishes were sold out, but we were pleasantly surprised with a delicious recommendation instead. The sweet potato chips and potato salad were unforgettable. The appetizer salad was large and very tasty. The quality of the charcoal was excellent, although there was a bit too much smoke. Overall, it was perfect.

I watched Slam Dunk and decided to stop by casually. Since it was January 2nd, most of the recommended items were sold out... The counter had about 12 seats and there were more seats in the back, but it doesn't seem very suitable for large groups. It has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for couples or solo diners. The appetizer was a vegetable platter and the meat miso was not too strong, complementing the vegetables well and very delicious. We tried skewers of chicken tender, asparagus, heart, and tail. Among them, the chicken tender was fluffy with a firm texture and very tasty. The recommended drinks were Akaboshi and Dassai sake. I would like to visit again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal.

This time, on the way back from participating in a tasting festival at the Tokyo Whisky Festival, I visited "Hinotori", which I had made a reservation for on Tabelog in advance. I had tried to visit the restaurant twice before, but had to give up due to the waiting time. I finally managed to enter this time. I had checked out the restaurant's atmosphere before, as I passed by the front of the restaurant for another reason. Unfortunately, I lost the photo of the storefront that I took at that time. From the street, you can see a warm L-shaped counter seat under the inviting lighting, and in the back, there are table seats that can accommodate about 10 people. The young owner briskly serves yakitori and other dishes. The other staff members also provided polite service, which I appreciated. The dishes, including yakitori, were all delicious and satisfying. And the prices were very reasonable. I immediately recommended it to my acquaintances as a place worth revisiting. The only thing that bothered me was the smoke when grilling the skewers. Although it was not visible, my eyes became watery and itchy, and even after returning home, the smell of smoke had transferred to my clothes. That was the only concern, so I deducted 0.1 point from the overall score. In advance reservations, there are several options for skewer courses, including all-you-can-drink sets. Some sets also include chicken ramen as the last dish, but I thought that would be too much, so I opted for a smaller portion. For the last dish, you can choose between chicken soboro rice bowl or dessert. It was mentioned that while not all skewers, the restaurant uses Tottori Prefecture's Oyama chicken (daidori). Hinotori Yakitori 7-piece course - 4,000 yen (tax included) Appetizer Vegetable platter Chicken exquisite Extreme fatty liver Grilled heart with green onions Today's special dish - details forgotten... Fried food Hinotori's fried chicken Skewers: Assorted skewers of 7 pieces (5 yakitori skewers, 2 vegetable skewers) Chicken wings with scallions Gizzard Chicken meatball Shiitake mushroom Ginkgo nut Finishing dish Chicken soboro rice bowl Additional order Crunchy cartilage fried chicken - 540 yen (tax included) Drinks Various drinks Starting with the vegetable platter, I was amazed by the quality of the vegetables. The cucumber, radish, cabbage, turnip were all fresh and delicious, topped with miso mayonnaise, a pleasant surprise from the start. The extreme fatty liver was a knockout, creamy yet not overpowering, three-dimensional and substantial, making it perfect for accompanying drinks. The juicy Oyama chicken gizzard was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. Watching the young owner's meticulous grilling from the counter, you can enjoy such details if you sit at the counter near the entrance. The dishes are not just skewers served consecutively, but other scheduled dishes are served in between. The following dishes and yakitori were all of good quality and taste. The meal ended with the chicken soboro rice bowl. Reservations are currently easy to make, the food is delicious, and it's a restaurant that makes you want to visit regularly! Thank you for the meal.

Introducing a cost-effective lunch at an izakaya! This restaurant is located near the Korean restaurant I introduced the other day. At night, it serves chicken dishes, so you can enjoy lunch items like fried chicken and oyakodon! The most popular item, the MIX set meal, includes 2 pieces of fried chicken, 3 pieces of pork cutlet, plenty of cabbage, soup, and side dishes for 800 yen, which is quite a deal. The fried chicken is huge and has a perfect crispy texture with juicy meat inside. The flavor is just right, not too strong on the garlic like many izakaya fried chicken. The pork cutlet is also delicious with a rich sauce that goes well with the rice. The homemade dressing on the table is tasty and goes well with the cabbage and fried chicken. It was a delicious meal! Thank you for the meal!

Located within walking distance from Shinjuku Station and Nishi-Shinjuku Station. Situated on the opposite side of Kabukicho, the area around the restaurant has a calm atmosphere, making it easy to enter. However, due to its popularity, it is recommended to make a reservation. The yakitori is delicious, as well as the appetizers and side dishes. ☆Recommended ・Appetizer (Assorted fresh vegetables) Enjoy with the homemade miso sauce. The miso sauce is refillable and goes well with alcohol. ・Specialty "Ultimate Toro Liver" A must-try specialty! The low-temperature cooked Toro Toro liver is a delight for liver lovers! ・Negima Yakitori A classic yakitori dish. Juicy and generously sized. ・Tsukune You can taste the rich flavor of the meat. I prefer it with salt, but it was also delicious with sauce.

The ventilation system was so bad that smoke particles were flying into my eyes, making it hard to enjoy the taste of the yakitori. I remember the pain in my eyes more than the flavor of the food. The only things I remember are feeling like I was going blind from the smoke and waiting forever to pay the bill. So, we decided to leave this second restaurant quickly. This place is a no-go.

-The interior is like a traditional Japanese izakaya, but the counter is solid and you can enjoy watching the chef cook in front of you. -Complimentary dish: vegetables with miso. -Toro liver: served in a sashimi style, with a moderate amount of fatty texture. -Assorted skewers: 5 pieces including gizzard and heart, followed by green onion, tail, and neck skewers (3 pieces each). -Furisode: had a good portion size. -Tsukimi tsukune (moon-viewing chicken meatballs). -The amount of meat served is quite generous. -Although the mobile ordering system was a bit difficult to use, it was not particularly stressful. -While there wasn't overly friendly service, the warm interior and the convenience of mobile ordering made the atmosphere cozy and pleasant.

Cuisine Genre: Yakitori Popular Dish: Special Fatty Liver Impression of the Dish: The special fatty liver is cooked at a low temperature, creating a unique texture and flavor that you can't find elsewhere. Seasoned lightly with sesame oil and salt, it melts in your mouth leaving a wonderful aroma. Even those who are not fans of liver will become addicted to this dish! Impression of the Restaurant: Cozy Atmosphere The restaurant has both counter seats and sunken kotatsu table seats. At the counter, you can watch the skewers being grilled right in front of you. They cover your coat to prevent it from smelling of smoke, and there is space under the counter where you can store your bag without worrying about it getting dirty. The staff, mostly women, provide friendly and prompt service. Drinks are served quickly after ordering. The restroom is equipped with mouthwash and even nail clippers. For special occasions like anniversaries, you can celebrate with an original cake from the patissier, but be sure to make a reservation at least 3 days in advance. Overall, the atmosphere, service, food taste, and portion size at this restaurant "You no Tori" are all satisfying. Be sure to visit this place at least once!
