This time, on the way back from participating in a tasting festival at the Tokyo Whisky Festival, I visited "Hinotori", which I had made a reservation for on Tabelog in advance. I had tried to visit the restaurant twice before, but had to give up due to the waiting time. I finally managed to enter this time. I had checked out the restaurant's atmosphere before, as I passed by the front of the restaurant for another reason. Unfortunately, I lost the photo of the storefront that I took at that time. From the street, you can see a warm L-shaped counter seat under the inviting lighting, and in the back, there are table seats that can accommodate about 10 people. The young owner briskly serves yakitori and other dishes. The other staff members also provided polite service, which I appreciated. The dishes, including yakitori, were all delicious and satisfying. And the prices were very reasonable. I immediately recommended it to my acquaintances as a place worth revisiting. The only thing that bothered me was the smoke when grilling the skewers. Although it was not visible, my eyes became watery and itchy, and even after returning home, the smell of smoke had transferred to my clothes. That was the only concern, so I deducted 0.1 point from the overall score. In advance reservations, there are several options for skewer courses, including all-you-can-drink sets. Some sets also include chicken ramen as the last dish, but I thought that would be too much, so I opted for a smaller portion. For the last dish, you can choose between chicken soboro rice bowl or dessert. It was mentioned that while not all skewers, the restaurant uses Tottori Prefecture's Oyama chicken (daidori). Hinotori Yakitori 7-piece course - 4,000 yen (tax included) Appetizer Vegetable platter Chicken exquisite Extreme fatty liver Grilled heart with green onions Today's special dish - details forgotten... Fried food Hinotori's fried chicken Skewers: Assorted skewers of 7 pieces (5 yakitori skewers, 2 vegetable skewers) Chicken wings with scallions Gizzard Chicken meatball Shiitake mushroom Ginkgo nut Finishing dish Chicken soboro rice bowl Additional order Crunchy cartilage fried chicken - 540 yen (tax included) Drinks Various drinks Starting with the vegetable platter, I was amazed by the quality of the vegetables. The cucumber, radish, cabbage, turnip were all fresh and delicious, topped with miso mayonnaise, a pleasant surprise from the start. The extreme fatty liver was a knockout, creamy yet not overpowering, three-dimensional and substantial, making it perfect for accompanying drinks. The juicy Oyama chicken gizzard was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. Watching the young owner's meticulous grilling from the counter, you can enjoy such details if you sit at the counter near the entrance. The dishes are not just skewers served consecutively, but other scheduled dishes are served in between. The following dishes and yakitori were all of good quality and taste. The meal ended with the chicken soboro rice bowl. Reservations are currently easy to make, the food is delicious, and it's a restaurant that makes you want to visit regularly! Thank you for the meal.
