Although I am not particularly from Kyushu, I decided to visit this restaurant recommended by a friend! They offer a variety of Kyushu dishes such as horse sashimi and mentaiko lotus root, all of which are delicious! The prices may be a bit high, but considering the location, it's understandable. The service was fast and I had a pleasant dining experience!

Located a 2-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, this Kyushu cuisine restaurant is situated along a narrow street connecting Misuji Street and Hitotsugi Street. Although the restaurant is on the second floor, I was intrigued by the sign on the first floor and decided to check it out. Outside the restaurant, there was a red lantern with Kumamon depicted on it, giving off a Kyushu vibe. The interior of the restaurant had a typical izakaya atmosphere, but with large windows that created a sense of openness. The daily recommended menu was written on a whiteboard. I started with a draft beer (539 yen), a classic choice for the first drink. I ordered the chicken tempura as my first dish. It had a crispy texture and the tenderness of the chicken was delightful, pairing well with the beer. The grated radish added a refreshing touch. Next, I tried the sea bream head stew (880 yen) from the daily recommendations. The flavor was rich and delicious. Of course, when it comes to Kyushu cuisine, shochu is a must. I also ordered a shochu highball. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of Kyushu and the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. There were many other menu items I couldn't try this time, so I definitely want to come back and try more Kyushu dishes next time.

You can enjoy hot pot in a casual and fun izakaya-like restaurant. You can easily enjoy dishes like horse sashimi, sweet potato tempura, and chicken wings, and then finish with hot pot. It's really delicious! I love the flavor of chicken broth. I wanted to add chicken meat, but I arrived close to closing time and missed out. Next time, I want to add plenty of chicken meat and enjoy the hot pot.

On the way back from a meeting, I was walking around looking for a place to have a drink, and I was approached by a tout. I decided to follow him after he assured me that it wasn't a sketchy place. It turned out to be a friendly establishment with a homey atmosphere. I didn't take many photos of the food, but they had a variety of Kyushu dishes and drinks, and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. I tried "mentaiko renkon" for the first time, and the perfect spiciness of the mentaiko was delicious. If I'm nearby again, I would love to visit this place. Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere in Tokyo has started to liven up quite a bit! After finishing work near Akasaka, I visited a Kyushu-themed izakaya late at night. We enjoyed drinking and eating from appetizers to hearty dishes! The most delicious dish was probably the yakisoba (with sauce).

It's been a while since my last visit. Around 6:30 pm, the restaurant was about 40% full, but by the time I left, it was about 80% full. I started with a beer, then had spinach ohitashi, fried horse mackerel, sweet potato tempura, and grilled udon noodles with soy sauce. The flavors were more home-cooked style, but it felt like they were made with care and not just using frozen ingredients. I tried a new shochu called Torafuru Kirishima, which was just released last year. I had it with water and it had a very mild taste. The total cost for one person was just under 3000 yen. It's a warm and nice restaurant.

I visited the restaurant on my way back from a business trip. I don't usually eat Kyushu cuisine, so I was curious to try it. The conclusion is that it wasn't very delicious for the price. The satsuma-age, for example, tasted like something you could buy at a supermarket and just bake. The champon wasn't tastier than the one at another restaurant. The prices were not cheap either, so I was very disappointed. However, the manager, a woman, was very friendly and I ended up liking her a lot. Well, I think I might have fallen for her (laughs).

I haven't eaten here much. It's a place where many people just drink.

I was introduced to this restaurant by an acquaintance two years ago, and I have been back a few times since then. I usually arrive around 6 pm, and the place is always crowded. It's conveniently located near Akasaka-Mitsuke station, and the food is delicious. It's not too expensive, and it's not a chain restaurant, which makes it quite unique in this area. Their Chinese noodles are actually Kyushu cuisine, made with chicken broth, and they are incredibly tasty. The other dishes, all with a Kyushu touch, are also delicious. It's more of a retro-style place rather than trendy, which adds to its charm.

This time, there was a banquet at a hotel nearby. We didn't choose this place specifically, but decided to enter based on the flow of our seniors. I had been drinking too much beer, so I started with a highball for a toast. We ordered various appetizers as we went along - edamame, spicy cod roe, gyoza with wings, fried squid legs, grilled mackerel with salt, mustard lotus root, cheese spring rolls, kimchi, fried tofu with dashi, and also ordered a hot pot. It was a good selection of dishes to enjoy with alcohol. The Kyushu specialties were the spicy cod roe, gyoza with wings, mustard lotus root, and hot pot, with the ramen at the end of the hot pot being the best. The prices were reasonable and it was perfect for a banquet. We don't have many opportunities to go there due to the location, but I don't think it deserves the low rating on Tabelog. The service was decent as well. If I have the chance, I would stop by again.

While wandering and looking for a second place to eat, I was lured in by a hidden gem on the second floor of a back alley. The gyoza had a soft rather than crispy texture, lacking juiciness and not particularly outstanding. The chicken broth tea-pickled rice with mentaiko, takana, pickled radish, and seaweed toppings was delicious even without the toppings. The broth was a bit cloudy and flavorful. The ramen, which was chicken broth-based, featured thin straight noodles, sesame, green onions, and two slices of chicken chashu. Despite its tonkotsu-like appearance, it was surprisingly refreshing. The atmosphere was cozy and homey, making it feel like you were dining in a living room. Despite being located in Akasaka, the prices were reasonable considering the location.

Located a 3-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, with Uokyu below. It's hard to say if the location is good or bad at this point. I think a normal, cheap restaurant wouldn't survive here. The food is simply delicious. I recommend the horse mackerel tartare, stingray fin, and choice of hot pot. After enjoying the pork bone-based hot pot, finish with Chinese noodles. After a bite, try the recommended cheese and egg with black pepper, like a carbonara. I don't usually ask for recommendations, but this one is truly worth it. I highly recommend trying it out. I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

Located in Akasaka 3-chome, a narrow road off Hitotsugi Street, there is a mixed-use building on the 2nd floor. Not exactly a beautiful building, but after a visit to Schmatz with clients and couples on the way back to the hotel, we were approached. The staff was very friendly and we were able to communicate somewhat in English, so we decided to stop by for a beer. The food was great, and the general manager even invited us to come back the next day with four people. After a one-hour meeting at Akasaka Excel Square Dining on Wednesday, November 4th, we eagerly arrived. The interior was minimalistic with a counter and tables lined up by the window. About 60% of the seats were already taken by a group of men at 7:30 pm. We started with a Chilean Caliterra red wine and Asahi Super Dry beer before enjoying the appetizers. The menu also featured a variety of shochu options. We tried edamame, cheese sticks wrapped in wonton skin, grilled eel, fried yam, pork belly skewers, and spicy lotus root. Unfortunately, the lotus root was too spicy for me, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. The highlight of the meal was the Nagasaki Champon noodles served in a chicken bone broth. The service provided by the staff, especially by Kumi Terazaki, was exceptional and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Nana has been in business for 7 years, previously operating a Japanese restaurant in Akasaka for 23 years. They are open every day from 4 pm to 1 am on weekdays, and from 3 pm to 1 am on weekends and holidays. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with the attentive service, made it a memorable evening in Akasaka.

While walking near Akasaka Mitsuke, I was recommended to try the hot pot at this restaurant by a staff member outside. I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of a building off the side street next to the post office on Hitotsugi Street. Inside, there are about 5 tables for 4 people each and a counter for about 9 people. It seems to be a Kyushu cuisine restaurant. I ordered the hot pot, spicy lotus root, and sweet potato tempura. The food was delicious. The staff were also very friendly. If I hadn't met the staff member outside, I wouldn't have noticed this restaurant's existence.

I was taken to a restaurant that my acquaintance frequents. They had made a reservation for a special dish called "tecciri" (blowfish hot pot) that is not usually on the menu. Before the tecciri, we ordered appetizers like mentaiko (spicy cod roe) rolled omelette and chicken nanban. Everything was delicious. The tecciri was prepared with special care using fresh blowfish just for us. The staff at the restaurant took great care of us throughout the meal. It was a warm and delicious hot pot that was perfect for the cold winter. I would love to come back for the tecciri again!
