A popular tonkatsu restaurant in Kinshicho where the owner runs the shop alone, remembering each order carefully, providing water while frying, and serving rice and miso soup efficiently. The unique way of arranging the cutlet, sliced vertically in half and then horizontally with 5 cuts, placed at a right angle, is a distinctive feature. Photography, including food, is prohibited inside the restaurant. Reviews on food websites like Tabelog are not welcome at all. Location: 8 minutes walk from Kinshicho Station. Business hours: [Lunch] 11:30-13:45 (L.O.) [Dinner] 18:00-20:30 (L.O. 20:00), open on Sundays. Closed on Mondays. Crowded conditions: I visited on a weekday evening. I was seated right away, but had to wait about 45 minutes for the food to be served. Today I ordered the "Special Loin Set" (¥1800). Photography, including food, is prohibited inside the restaurant. The owner runs the shop alone, and the set meal includes rice, miso soup, and almond jelly. It is a popular restaurant always full of customers, so I waited about 45 minutes from ordering to the food being brought to the table. The low-temperature cooked special loin has a striking golden-colored coating. When tasted, the moist and tender coating, overflowing sweet fat, and tender loin moisten the mouth in succession. Depending on the part, there are areas with a crispy coating and a substantial meaty texture, making it not one-dimensional. It looked like a substantial amount, but it was light and easy to eat. The mountain of cabbage was surprisingly mixed with large shiso leaves. The rice had a sweetness to it, and the miso soup had plenty of nameko mushrooms in it. After the meal, I also had tea and almond jelly with a mandarin orange on top, with a firm and smooth texture. Lastly, although there are some establishments in the world that exist, this shop unintentionally became one of the top 100 restaurants. To be certified, Tabelog requires posting at least one photo, but this shop prohibits all photos, including food and the interior. If you post a photo of the tonkatsu, you would be violating the shop's rules. Of course, there is no mention of Tabelog at all. I would like to give a rating of over 4.0, but I hope the negative cycle of people wanting to take photos by becoming a top 100 restaurant will end.
