A diner in front of Akabane Station. Despite being close to closing time, the staff greeted us with a smile. We ordered beer, bonito sashimi salad, and fried chicken set meal. The bonito sashimi salad had a huge portion, it seemed like it would never end! There was an abundance of bonito sashimi on top!! It was light and incredibly delicious. Just with this and the beer, I was quite full! The fried chicken in the set meal was also big, juicy, and had a generous portion. It was around 700-800 yen, so I was very satisfied with the portion size. Many regular customers had their bottles kept there, and I noticed that a lot of people were eating motsunabe, so I definitely want to try that next time. I would like to visit again.

I was brought here by a regular customer and found the slightly dim interior very calming, giving off a cozy inn-like atmosphere. The appetizer of small clams was delicious and well presented. A must-try here is the tuna tartare. I was hesitant at first, but it turned out to be perfect - not too sour and complementing the tuna well. Before I knew it, I had ordered a second serving. The Kyoto-style grilled fish was also excellent. They also offer lunch, so it seems convenient for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located near Kitashinagawa Station, just one stop away from Akabane. It's highly recommended for enjoying delicious dishes in a relaxed setting. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again.

Restaurant desert area, Kitashakujii. Even searching for 800m from the station, the highest rating on Tabelog is 3.29... (。´Д⊂)サミシス At Kitashakujii Station, when you come out of the Akabane exit gate, you can see McDonald's, Torikizoku, CoCo Ichi, Saizeriya, Hidakaya, and Kushi Hachin... mostly chain restaurants (。´Д⊂)サミシス In a building between McDonald's and Torikizoku, on the first floor of Actpia Ichiban Mall, there is a small individual restaurant. They also serve lunch at this izakaya. We visited with 5 people around 8 pm on a weekday. There were only table seats, with one customer already there and 3 groups coming in later. I thought the elderly man working alone, but there was another elderly man in the kitchen. We ordered... - Pork shabu salad 650 yen - Shrimp mayo salad 700 yen - Fried chicken cartilage 550 yen - Deep-fried tofu 500 yen - Saikyo-style grilled cod 800 yen - Ginger pork set meal (extra rice) 700 yen - Mixed fry set meal (extra rice) 1000 yen (Extra rice is complimentary with set meals) The prices are a bit high, but each dish has a decent portion. The atmosphere is welcoming for families or solo diners, but the portion size might be challenging for someone dining alone. With the complimentary appetizer and one salad, it's hard to finish everything alone. Most of us didn't drink much, so I had 3 drinks while the others had only one each. I respect those who can finish all the food with just one drink. If that's the lifestyle, dining out would be more affordable... that's what I thought. Itadakimasu☆

Today's drinking party: After work, I felt like having some fresh fish, so I looked around the area near Kitashinagawa Station and found this restaurant where I could eat sashimi. As a cover charge (300 yen), I ordered a bottle of beer (Kirin Lager, 500 yen) and received a plate of rolled omelette, sliced cucumber, and grilled bacon. The rolled omelette tasted like something you could buy at a store. I later found out from the master at Koumibou that you can opt out of the cover charge. Since the portion sizes of the dishes are quite generous, I thought it would be fine to skip the cover charge when drinking alone. Bonito tataki salad (800 yen): I felt like having something other than sashimi, so I ordered the bonito tataki salad. The dish consisted of about 8 slices of bonito tataki topped with lettuce, tomato, and green onions, drizzled with what seemed to be a soy-based dressing and garnished with garlic chips. The bonito tataki was very fresh, and the vegetables were crunchy, making it very delicious. Since I had plans to visit Koumibou later that day and was already full from this dish, I didn't order anything else, but I would like to revisit in the future as they offer side dishes that pair well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

In the ghost town street of Actopia, there are plenty of options to eat like McDonald's, Saizeriya, Hidakaya, and Coco Ichibanya. I decided to try something different from the usual set meals and visited an izakaya. The place can seat about 20 people with tables that can accommodate up to 6 people. I ordered the silver salmon set meal for 700 yen, which came with a free extra serving of rice, a side dish, and sashimi. The cost performance was good, and the taste was better than the salmon in the morning set meal at a beef bowl chain. The lunch cost performance is quite good, and it's a nice change from the usual chain restaurants. I recently started coming here again after a long time. A friend recommended it and mentioned that they even serve bottles here, so I decided to check it out. I ordered fish this time, and the golden eye snapper was not bad. For this price, it's not a problem, and it's better than going to a large chain restaurant. You can also relax here at night, so I definitely recommend this place!

Today, I was tired so I wanted to eat something light for dinner outside, but didn't feel like going all the way to the Izakaya district in Akabane. My husband and I have been using this place, where many customers come alone for the set meal. The recommended motsunabe (offal hotpot) is really good! It's reasonably priced and comes with a generous portion of offal. Additional toppings are also affordable. There are three types of broth available - salt, soy sauce, and miso, but personally I love the salt flavor. They also have a variety of a la carte menu items that are like what you'd find at an Izakaya. Lately, around 7-8pm even on weekdays, the place gets quite crowded. With only one chef and one server, it can take a bit of time for the food to arrive. I hope they continue to do well!----------------------------------------------Update 2015.10: I continue to visit this place and recently it's been really difficult to get a table between 6-9pm, even on weekdays. Seems like there are a lot of regulars from the neighborhood like us. The appetizer they serve for 200 yen is always satisfying.---------------------------------------------Update 2016.01: I still visit this place and recently, maybe due to the opening of "Ganso Yakitori Kushihacchin" nearby, the noisy customers seem to have decreased. The atmosphere inside is quieter and we can usually get a table smoothly.
