Taking a bus ride for a fall outing with a picnic mood. The destination is the Tokyo Metropolitan Wadabori Park. It is a long and narrow park with the Zenpukuji River flowing through the middle, and the total area is quite large. The excitement of meeting friends who will board at a stop along the way adds to the fun. The bus, with a slightly elevated view, is a delightful mode of transport. In the pleasant autumn weather, the bus speeds comfortably towards the destination. However, upon arrival at the bus stop, there is no sign of the friend. Instead, Miki-chan with a backpack is spotted boarding the next bus. Phew, what a relief! It's been a while since we last met. Walking past the Omiya Hachimangu Shrine, we stroll along the park's tree-lined promenade and finally arrive at the true destination. At the Musashino Garden, with a view of the fishing pond, we relax at a restaurant where eating and drinking are allowed. Should we have a proper meal or just snack? We opt for the latter and place our order. First, we toast with a highball to the long-awaited reunion. - Pork Cutlet Stew: ¥700 - My favorite pork cutlet bowl, but only the head. The cutlet, which seems freshly fried, is quite nice, combined with a not-too-sweet broth, onions, and egg. Delicious! However, the actual dish looks quite different from the menu photo, with bright red pickled ginger and chopped seaweed. But the combination is great, so no problem. I quickly eat the seaweed part on top of the cutlet that I was about to eat, next to someone who seems dissatisfied. - Grilled Chicken Gizzards with Salt: ¥500 - A plate of gizzards, crispy and well-seasoned with salt, perfect for accompanying drinks. The appearance is different from the menu photo. - Fried Tofu with Sauce: ¥500 - It was supposed to be soaked in broth, but it felt more like mitarashi dango sauce, with a strong stickiness. Easy to eat and divided into small pieces, so it's okay! - Smoked Chicken Salad: ¥600 - We wanted some vegetables, so we chose this. The chicken is soft and moist, more than smoked, and the dish was supposed to be mainly green but turned out to be warm-colored with purple cabbage and orange dressing. Refreshing with a tangy dressing! While laughing at how everything looks different from the photos, we notice a note at the bottom of each photo saying "Photos are for illustration purposes only." Got it! The restaurant has a high ceiling and a relaxed, greenhouse-like atmosphere, with self-service water and small dishes. Watching middle-aged men enjoying themselves at the fishing pond on a weekday afternoon, time passes slowly. Thanks for accompanying me to this place I've always wanted to visit, Miki-chan! Another tea house in the park also caught my interest, so I must come back again soon!
