Title: "An Izakaya where there are no cover charges, seat fees, or service charges, so you can casually drop in" Y-san from the northern Kanto region and I visited this izakaya after standing at Takioka's standing bar. We arrived at 6:19 pm, and Y-san had to meet other friends at 9 pm, so we spent a long 2 hours and 40 minutes until he left. The restaurant was moderately crowded. Despite the atmosphere of self-restraint, the fact that it was this crowded made me wonder if it would be even busier on a regular day. The nearby Kacchan was almost full at the counter, so we had to give up on entering, showing that popular restaurants still get crowded even in times like these. With no cover charges, service fees, or seat fees, you can easily drop in. It's quite convenient. The Highball (large bottle of shochu lemon) was 1280 yen plus tax: ⭐️ A 1000ml bottle with 7% alcohol content, so it's quite strong. They provide ice, so I drink it with that. You can make about 4 drinks, so it's around 350 yen per drink. With some adjustments, you could probably make 5 or even 6 drinks. Bacon and eggs for 298 yen + tax: ⭐️ Two sunny-side-up eggs with bacon, cabbage, like a breakfast dish. It's really delicious. Stingray fin for 298 yen + tax: ⭐️ It has a good texture, sweetness, and umami flavor, perfect for drinking. The portion was okay. Overall impression: I ordered the Highball twice. We only ordered 2 dishes, so we talked the whole time. I had about 4 or 5 drinks in total. If I had 5 drinks and shared 2 dishes, it would cost around 1735 yen per person, which seems reasonable. You can just have one drink and leave quickly, or enjoy eating and drinking slowly. I felt like I found a great place to hang out. Y-san left at 9 pm to meet his friends, but I was completely drunk and ended up making a lot of phone calls to my friend Saki. Saki was on his way home on the Joban Line but got off midway to answer my call. Eventually, we decided to drink in Kashiwa, so I went back there. (2020.3.25)
