I didn't know that. Yodobashi Camera is located around the Shinjuku Nishiguchi area. I walked around many times and went into various shops, but I didn't check out this store. I visited for lunch on a weekday. The store is located on the 2nd and 4th floors of a building at the intersection. When I went up to the 2nd floor, I was seated at the counter. It seems like seafood is the main dish, but they also have options like eel bowl, tempura bowl, pork bowl, and medium-fatty tuna bowl, all priced around 1,000 yen. This time, I ordered the ginger pork set meal. The counter surrounding the kitchen is made of stone, and there are tables around it, facing glass windows. The background music is lively Western music. The store was almost full, and the staff were busy walking around. The ginger pork itself is thinly sliced and easy to eat. The menu mentions the brand name of the pork, but it's not that noticeable. The bottles lined up indicate that it's popular in the evening as well. It's quite rare to see that almost all the staff are Japanese. I would like to visit again for lunch or dinner. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a shop near Yodobashi in Shinjuku again after a year. The lunch menu has a wide variety of options. Last time I had a seafood bowl, so this time I tried the horse mackerel sashimi bowl. I upgraded it to the large size for only 980 yen. It was a bowl full of fresh horse mackerel. The presentation was beautiful and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Visited around 11:30☺︎ on the midsummer day of the ox. It was a Sunday but not crowded. ♥ Unagi (eel) rice bowl for 3,500 yen (tax included). This is a must-have on this day! It came out quickly since it wasn't busy! It arrived in about 7 minutes. The eel was plump and had a satisfying taste♡ It was even more filling than it looked and tasted delicious♡ It was great to be able to enjoy delicious eel on a day when it wasn't crowded♡

Located in the bustling izakaya district of Nishi-Shinjuku, this restaurant offers delicious tendon. I was curious after reading the reviews, so I ordered the "jou" tendon. The main difference from the regular tendon seemed to be an extra prawn. The prawns were indeed large and juicy, but I'm not sure if it's worth adding ¥280 to upgrade from the regular tendon. The regular tendon is probably satisfying enough on its own. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant during a late lunch on a day off. There were few customers, so I was able to enter easily. I was in the mood for a tempura bowl, but ended up ordering the fried horse mackerel set meal with potato salad, also known as the "aji po." The fried horse mackerel was delicious as expected, and the potato salad had a nice flavor. I would like to come back to try the tempura bowl next time.

Today's lunch was at Kadoshin in Nishi-Shinjuku. It was my first visit, and I decided to try their tempura bowl (930 yen) which looked good in the entrance photo. The lunch menu is extensive and has a nice atmosphere where you can drink during the day. The tempura bowl came with 2 prawns, squid, pumpkin, green pepper, enoki mushrooms, and sweet potato. The texture of the prawn tempura was excellent. The ingredients tasted good, but I felt the sauce could have been a bit thicker. The miso soup was flavorful with a good dashi base, and the side dishes were also delicious. Everything was good. I look forward to trying other menu items next time. It was delicious.

Taking the narrow elevator to the 2nd floor of the building, I arrived at "Kado Shin Nishiguchi Store." This time, I chose to sit at the counter seat, where it was pleasantly cool with the air conditioning on. Queen's music was playing in the background. Despite the current situation of many restaurants raising their prices, this place has not increased their prices since my last visit in March last year. The menu had some slight changes, with dishes like "Tuna Nakaochi Don," "Tendon," and "Aji Tataki Don" now having a "premium" option. The Tendon for 930 yen came with tempura, grated yam, and green onion miso soup, along with simmered bamboo shoots. The tempura was crispy and well-seasoned, with a generous portion. The dish included purple lotus root, crunchy vegetables, pumpkin, chewy squid, and two plump and delicious shrimp. The rice was cooked just right, not too sticky. The sauce was not too sweet, but a bit more richness would have been nice. Even the regular portion was satisfying. I wonder how much of an upgrade you would get if you opt for the "premium" option for 1,200 yen.

I was planning to have a daytime drink at Sumibi Kappo San, Shinjuku Nishiguchi branch, but the shop was closed on Sundays due to circumstances. Since there were only chain-like stores nearby, I decided to enter this shop that seemed more like a personal establishment. It was cheap, but it's not a place I would come back to again. Thank you for the meal.

Stable and satisfying, the tempura bowl here is packed with ingredients. It's a delight to have it freshly fried. It's usually too much for me if I order it normally, so I always ask for less rice at this restaurant. Every menu item is delicious, so I often have a hard time deciding. I will definitely visit again!

Visited around 19:30☺︎ on a weekday, was able to go without a reservation. It was filled with salarymen who seemed to be working around this area. It gets busier as the night goes on. Everything I ordered was delicious♡ They had a wide variety of dishes perfect for drinking. I had the eel rice bowl and it was very filling. It may not have a luxurious atmosphere, but the food was tasty and they had a good selection.

Kadoshin is a restaurant I used to go to for lunch when I worked in Shinjuku. I visited the place for drinks after Lion's Bar. We ordered a bottle of whiskey (I forgot the brand), eel kabayaki, and fried horse mackerel. Everyone was very hungry. I usually thought of this place as offering reasonably priced lunches, but they also do a good job in the evenings. However, I was on a diet so I mostly just drank and didn't eat much, while everyone else enjoyed the delicious food. After this, we decided to go to Memory Lane.

I visited the restaurant just last month but decided to go back again. I arrived after 11 am and there were already customers inside. By the time I left, it was quite busy. The menu had a variety of options, but I ended up ordering the daily bento box again, just like last time. The overall composition was the same, but this time, the tempura (shrimp, bell pepper) was replaced with cold tofu, which was quite shocking! With prices staying the same in this era of price hikes, I guess it can't be helped. The minced bamboo shoot with savory sauce was a nice touch for the season. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Kado Shin Nishiguchi store! It is conveniently located near Keio Plaza Hotel and has a wide variety of seafood. The sashimi was all fresh and delicious. They also have skewers and other Japanese dishes, making it a great choice for those looking for Japanese cuisine! ✨

On the third day of the last week before relocation, I had lunch at "Kadoshin". This restaurant has been very helpful as well. Among the various menu items such as fried horse mackerel, grilled mackerel with salt, grilled Okhotsk Atka mackerel, ginger pork, seafood bowl, pork bowl, and daily assorted bento, I chose my favorite for the last time. (The grilled tuna collar is a periodic menu item, so I was lucky to have it today.)
- Grilled Tuna Collar Set Meal (with extra tartar sauce) - ¥930
Each time, the shape of the grilled tuna collar is different, which adds to the enjoyment. It takes a bit of skill and strength to pick the meat off the bone with chopsticks. Today, I thought there was a bit less meat at first glance, but there was plenty on the back of the bone. I enjoyed it with grated daikon radish and tartar sauce as always. And the rice is delicious, which is another recommended point here. Thank you for the delicious meal today. I will visit again when I am nearby. Thank you for the meal.

After two weeks, I had lunch at "Kado Shin" again. I was looking forward to the "grilled tuna collar" dish, which is not always available. Luckily, I managed to get the last one this time. I ordered it with extra tartar sauce, just like last time.
Grilled tuna collar set meal (with extra tartar sauce) for ¥930: The grilled collar was fragrant and it was fun to pick the meat off the bones. I enjoyed it with grated radish, lemon, and tartar sauce. I finished every last bite while changing up the flavors. Thank you for the delicious meal once again.

Today, I had lunch at "Kado Shin" for the first time in 3 weeks. I was able to snag the last piece of grilled tuna collar. The tuna collar set meal with tartar sauce was ¥930. The tuna collar had a good amount of meat and was easy to eat. I enjoyed it with homemade tartar sauce, grated radish, and lemon for extra flavor. It was delicious.

I entered the store about 10 minutes after it opened and was surprised to find that I was the first customer. I ordered the daily special lunch set with a little less rice (¥980) and also a bottle of beer. The lunch set was served in about 7-8 minutes, and the first beer was poured by the waitress, which was a nice touch. The lunch set included a sashimi platter, grilled mackerel with salt, bite-sized pork cutlet, side dish of okara, rice, and a generous serving of miso soup. The sashimi consisted of 4 slices of various parts of tuna and 2 slices of another type of fish, all of which were delicious. The pork cutlet was also tasty, and the grilled mackerel, though small, was easy to eat boneless. The side dish of okara was a nice palate cleanser. The rice was average, but the miso soup had a rich fish flavor and was quite delicious. Excluding the rice, the lunch set had enough volume to serve as a good snack for lunchtime drinking. The total bill came to ¥1,700, which was a great value for the quality of the food. I would like to try the chirashi sushi next time.

This week's lunch started at "Kado Shin". I was looking forward to the occasional "grilled tuna collar" that they offer. When I visited right after the new year, they didn't have it, but today they did! Of course, I ordered it. I can easily ask for extra tartar sauce now, which is great.
Grilled tuna collar set meal (with extra tartar sauce) for ¥930. The collar was full of meat. Today's was really good. The extra tartar sauce was placed nicely on both sides of the plate. I thoroughly enjoyed it today. Thank you for the delicious meal!

On the first day back at work in the new year, I had lunch at "Kadoshin" restaurant. I was looking forward to having the "grilled tuna collar," but unfortunately, it was not available today, so I had the following instead:
- Grilled Fish Set Meal (Mackerel) for ¥930
At Kadoshin, the grilled fish is served as half a fish that is further cut in half. I think this is due to the size of the plate, but it actually makes it easier to eat, so no problem there. The first mackerel grilled with salt of the year was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was at "Kado Shin" restaurant. My favorite grilled tuna collar was not on the menu today, so I opted for the second best option. I had the (raw) fried horse mackerel set meal with potato salad and extra tartar sauce for ¥980. I appreciated the extra tartar sauce on the side. The four pieces of horse mackerel were divided into two portions, one with tartar sauce and the other with medium-thick sauce. They were fluffy and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Kado Shin" today, a place known for its daily changing grilled fish menu. I was excited to see they had "Grilled Tuna Collar" on the menu today, which is not always available. I ordered it right away. The tuna collar was firm and easy to separate from the bones with chopsticks. I enjoyed it with tartar sauce and grated radish. It was delicious. I look forward to the next time I can visit and have this dish again. Thank you for the meal.
